Really? I don't remember that being the case, was the final match between Goku and Uub? I need to re watch that tournament at the end. In any case, if Toriyama didn't screw Gohan over after the Cell saga he could have remained the strongest forevermore. That's what I was hoping for back then, I wanted Gohan to take the mantle (which he did against Cell) and hold on to it. Then his character was ruined and my hopes turned to Goten. It was a rough life for fans ready for Goku's sons to overtake him.

Goku vs Uub was Round 1. Goku just flew off and pissed everybody off since he dragged them there.

Actually Goku used Buu to manipulate the match draws so he would be the one to face Uub.

Sorry I mean by the end of the Buu battle not the future episode that we all know will be retconned eventually.

Oh really? lol! I only remembered that one match.
I'm just saying if gohan can keep pulling this shit than my boy should be God of destruction levels if he ever gets to train with somebody seriously
The natural conclusion for Super will be Goku becoming the God of Destruction since he gives virtually zero fucks about his family and Gohan will become Earth's protector! Just train your little bro Goten, Gohan....please.

Ah, ok. It's easy for me to forget about the bone thrown to Gohan with Mystic form because it ended up being wasted. All the more painful because we were teased with how strong it was and that he was clearly stronger than everyone else only to get absorbed and Mystic form forgotten :( With current events, let us forget about wasted potential and hope be renewed! Kudos to the fans that never stopped believing haha

Super now has a second Production Manager, Tetsuo Inagaki, who has been the production manager for Tiger Mask for these past months, he was also the production manager for One Piece for a while and did that job on Film Gold and Film Z as well.

This episode was done almost entirely by people outside of the Super staff, lots of talented people, including some Bones animators, yet not a single stand out piece of animation :/.
Production on this episode must have been pretty bad.

Think it about
Gohan was put thru hardcore training to prepare for the saiyans with piccolo

-Had his potential unlocked by the guru
-Trained with his father in the time chamber
-Had his potential unlocked AGAIN!
-Trains with piccolo hard core again for what few months a year?

Boom powerful as hell

In comparison goten has had not a single ounce of serious training

Spared with chichi...
Spars with trunks
Spars with gohan
Learns a dance
Where's the training stop treating my boy like this

We know what bad looks like ;o .

While the episode didn't have a "wooow" moment, it definitely had consistent quality throughout.

I've seen all your posts about Goten over the last year or so friend and I'm on your team too. Goten achieves super saiyan at such a young age and has the perfect training partner/rival to spar against and push him in Trunks AND they achieve SSJ3 together. So much potential squandered with Goten too ;_: arguably worse than Gohan in ways because Goten is forever stuck looking like he's 8 years old...Let him and Trunks grow already, dammit! Reach their potential in physical height and power!

At least Sanji is getting up front and center treatment right now...

It seems all Piccolo has done is focus on Gohan having a stronger mental game in battle. The power was always there. He was dead serious on whipping Goku's ass in that battle. That's from sparring with Piccolo and getting educated on proper battle mentality. Goku never did that with Gohan even when they trained in the chamber just look at the cell fight. Piccolo has Gohan with an edge I haven't seen before barring extreme rage.

Goku did not look great at all once he turned Blue.

Having Nozawa doing similar grunts for the two characters fighting each other sounded very strange

I don't get why Goku can name Gohan the team leader all of the sudden when Beerus is the one who should be doing that

Beerus put Goku in charge of the team

Super is enjoyable, but IMO it's just bad and the writers don't care anymore. You can argue that 17 sort of deserves his big boost in power since it took him 10 years of doing whatever he was doing.

But with Trunks and now Gohan? LOL fuck logic because they can just make them as strong as Goku and Vegeta in a few hours because reasons and hype. They could have just had them train in the Time Chamber to avoid this nonsense. Tien actually trains and yet he gets his ass punked by Roshi of all people. Can't believe people are eating this up but opinions I guess.

YES

NOW GOHAN

FUCK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Poor Tien :(

Pretty good episode. I'm glad that they've been showing us at least some of the other universes. The protein shake thing was funny.

NEP
"What's wrong with Buu" Poor Buu :(

I think Piccolo should be in that position.maybe with Gohan as second.
Who best than Gohabs teacher?

The whole point of the Gohan episode before this one was that his issue wasn't that he didn't have the power, but that his mental game wasn't back yet.

That was great, this whole season has been great.

Really glad they're saying fuck it to power levels, having a dynamic/fun team of people is much better than it always being a numbers game.

lol that so many peoples opinion of this show is tied directly to how Gohan is portrayed.

Us Gohan fans were pissed about how he was treated in the Buu saga. If Super can't correct a mistake that basic, then yeah, it deserves to get shit on.

Why are people acting like dragonball EVER had a good plot or consistent power levels? The charm of Dragonball has always been it's characters and the fights.

I thought Gohan cool as the Saiyaman but its been ages since i watched Buu arc.
The not training makes sense with seven years of peace

I like how the bang is now a visual indicator of Ultimate, though I don't know how to feel that it's a power up state now rather than always-active.

That toddler is much smarter than Gohan.

Gohan wants to train with his dad, the strongest person he knows.

Goten wanted to train with the guy that trains the strongest person he knows, Whis.
