How long until someone steals Tien's Tri Beam and betters it like all his other attacks?

I think Tien's going to have a big character moment. His thing seems to be not accepting the gap keeps widening, and not being okay with it, where Krillin and Roshi have accepted the gap keeps widening and are okay with it.

Which is funny when Krillin and Roshi have better showing than him though no one is letting him do anything

I'd argue Gohan makes Goku look far worse than 17. 17 has a unique biology and took 13 years to get there.

Gohan is a saiyan that meditated for 5 hours and equaled what Goku just spent years achieving.

And he's came up with a new form in literally a single day. That's supposedly beyond Goku.

That makes Goku pass for a fool IMO.

Might want to watch the episode again.

Videl hasn't seen Gohan in like a day and he's gonna come back to her as Goku Jr

She's gonna be like:

Gohan getting a few hits on SSB goku is sending the message this time that he's on that level. It's a serious fight testing his limits, that's the context, unlike the Krillen training. He was not satisfied with what Goku was giving him before because he was constantly getting stronger during the fight in the same way that Hit was, except for a different reason.

There was nothing about that in these episodes though. King Ryo didn't even seem to remember how the Kikoho is supposed to be a dangerous technique, considering how the script had Tenshinhan complaining about the others taking this training match too seriously while using something like that the first time he tried to throw a beam.

It really doesn't seem like Toei's writers have anything planned for him. I guess at this point, his only hope is the outline itself giving him some decent role in the tournament which would force their hands.

It's karma. For decades people arrogantly said Tenshinhan was the strongest human.

Super shut them up.
Tien goes into the ROSAT. 5 minutes before the ToP starts, Tien walks up to Vegeta, "Vegeta, you and me, one on one, start out with Blue."

I feel like that's been a factor in Z and Super, not just the last few episodes. Krillin quit martial arts because of the gap widening. Roshi realized he was surpassed years ago back in early Z, I don't feel like Tien accepted that, primarily because he never stopped training, and I could see them in an arc, if not in this one, having Tien have to accept where he is as a human, maybe that's been messing with his fighting and training, and then if they want to do something with his alien story, they can.

Fucking epic my man...
My god...
We need more gifs now.

This shot really got me. It lets you know that even though Gohan has his power back, he still needs work using it, and Goku training him is the best training.

qJxJts1.png

This shot just really elevates the idea that Gohan is off the chain, and the close up face shot is just really on model here.

eW6RyBU.png

Oh god Toei this is probably the best Gohan closeup I've ever seen

"Not yet!" Gohan gets ready for his dad to charge at him from tossing him away.

Gohan really going all out here.

Okay THIS might be the best closeup.

Eye See You

n2ftXAf.png

This is one of the best pull away shots in the episode. At this point you know things are going full hype because Goku just pulled out Super Saiyan Blue.

Ss1zPZl.png

Aw shit dad just pulled out SSBKK. Yeahhhh.

5xOEyP7.png

OK, OK, THIS might be the best closeup in the episode.

i0tCUlv.png

Goku is not without some amazing shots as well, this one highlights his strength and power.

J9hP4bK.png

Possibly the absolute BEST pull away shot in the episode. It's evocative of Gohan wanting to reach Goku's heights. Literally.

vF1hvIH.png

This gives you a false sense of, or foreshadowing, that Gohan CAN surpass his dad if he tries hard enough.

Then at the end, we can be happy that Gohan has finally returned and there's more on the way.

What are the rematches we need?
Piccolo vs. Frost
Gohan vs. Lavender
Vegeta vs. Hit
Frieza vs. Vegeta because at some point Vegeta says fuck working with Frieza

Can't help but agree. Got downvoted into the dirt on Reddit when I said Krillin is the strongest human according to Toriyama.

People were just going by what was shown on screen (and pages) through decades, since the Cell Saga, rather than an out of context statement.

These two episodes were clearly enough to destroy that image without any direct statement about Kuririn's strength because they portrayed him in a negative light with actual actions.

Didn't he leave the buu fight in z because he knew that the gap was so wide that he'd be useless. Might have been cell but I know he's accepted it in the past.

Nah, he just disappeared in the anime. They added a filler scene where Dende heals him after Buu knocked him out with that kick, but then afterwards he just doesn't appear anymore without any explanation. He only reappears for his next manga scene, when the world is brought back.

The Cell Saga had him using an overcharged, cast by the life point attack. Krillin had a better showing on Namek when Tien was busy being dead.

Lol at Gohan near Goku. He kept asking several times for him to get serious because Goku kept it casual

Yup. And when Goku got serious he swatted his ass like a fly. Gohan is definitely doing good and is on his way to matching or possibly exceeding his dad, but he ain't there yet. I'm just glad he's not a chump anymore because that shit just wasn't right.

> Gohan pleaded him to get serious

> Goku transformed into SSB. Gone were the smiles from earlier, Goku's expressions were that of a very serious Goku.

> Gohan held his own against SSB Goku for the short-while we saw it

> Gohan pleaded for Goku to go further after sending Goku flying with a strike

> Goku goes max-power, and obviously beats Gohan. Almost nobody is standing up to Kaioken Blue without some hax'd power of if you're a GoD and up.

Neither. Yamcha did both of those things though. Yamcha didn't want to get involved with Cell, but had to with Cell Jrs/ helping with the Kamehameha struggle. Yamcha stayed completely out of the Buu fight.

Tien helped against Semi Perfect Cell until he was unconscious, went into the ROSAT to train for the Cell games, had no problem helping Gohan since he felt he owed Goku that much, was nowhere to be seen in the Buu saga until the eradication attack, which he was dodging, then he was there during the Buutenks fight, he technically prolonged Gohan's life long enough for Goku to get there. Then Goku considered fusing with Tien, but he was knocked out so it was down to either Satan or Dende, but it couldn't be Dende because of the Dragon Balls. Afterwards he was healed, but we don't know what happened to him, Goku did teleport away from the battle to find Vegeta, so it's not like Tien was next to them the whole time and did nothing, and he most likely sensed Vegito's energy, so maybe he assumed Vegito had it.

Again, getting two blows in doesn't equal holding your own.

Tien didn't train in the Hypobloic Time Chamber. Anime only, did crap in the manga except get owned by a Cell Jr. He saved Dende after he healed Gohan. He did nothing to prolong Gohan's life. Plus, Tien was the only martial artist in the area outside of Mr. Satan and Goku didn't want to fused with Dende because he wasn't a fighter.

The coolest part about Gohan/Piccolo's team attack was that it would actually be useful in the tournament. Since it's all about ring outs, if Piccolo can get that ki dome attack off in the tournament, it could ring out a lot of people. You can tell they know what they're training for.

So cool. Little touches like that make their off screen training mean a lot more.

I really enjoyed the newest episode. Gohan is finally up to par! But I can't get over how terrible Tien looked. I mean goddamn, they're not letting him do shit.

Ya'll need to relax. lol

However you interpreted it, Gohan's at Goku and Vegeta's heels. He'll get there.

I'm hoping Whis and Beerus take notice of him in the tournament.

I take it as Gohan slowly getting there, yeah, he's not at SSB level yet, but I'm sure his mention of attaining a form that hasn't been seen before, different from SS, hints at him getting something that'll definitely let him be at SSB level or even beyond.

That shot of gohan flying up towards Goku in SSBKK is amazing.

Symbolism that Gohan finally wants to be the best, and is reaching for the top, which is his father.

Even Master Roshi clearly indicated that this was now Gohan's motivation in the episode.

I want Whis to abduct Gohan for a little bit prior to the start of the tournament. He wants to WIN. Place him inside whatever special dimension you need to put him in.

To be fair, Tien could probably put up a good fight with Roshi and Krillin. I don't know about Yamcha.

They'd all get bodied by the saiyans, 17, Piccolo and probably 18.

(Edited because I'm pretty sure Piccolo's ahead of 18)

Gohan asked him to get serious because for Gohan at present SS2 is a joke. Goku would have no choice but to use SSB to fight Gohan in his Ultimate form.
