Destiny 2 Reveal Livestream [Over]

Not many first person shooters thrive outside Steam.

There is one FPS game that is not on Steam, but is breaking all kinds of records right now. It is called Overwatch, and it is on the same platform Destiny 2 is going to be on.

I don't necessarily like the decision, but it is a brilliant decision for Activision to do so.

It's not 60 FPS. They would've said if it was.

Yeah.

So fucking bummed. Ugh.

Seems like Destiny: Rehashed, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing.

I had a lot of fun with the PvE in Destiny, especially the raids. A lot of new content and a ton of improvements means I will probably get it.

I missed the later half of the reveal, did they talk about anything regarding a "overworld" or whatever? Larger areas, more stuff to explore/discover? It was one of my bigger disappointments when I first tried Destiny 1, the open worlds was quite small and corridory, only consisted of going from point A to B and shoot dudes along the way. Really wanted to walk around and discover the history of the world.

Yea they said there's going to be side-quest style adventures in the world and dungeons to explore within patrol.

Mmm not really feeling the Destiny "2" vibe... it looked more like an expansion to me... but we will have to wait and see, still going to play this.

Im really not sure what expansions youre getting that give you huge new land masses to discover, raids, abilities, a shit ton of new weapons and gear, story modes, adventures, LFG components, new strikes, open world exploration, dungeons, bosses, new game modes for pvp, new pvp maps, and more. Not to mention stuff they havent revealed yet.

If that sounds like a 15 dollar DLC to you... Im really not sure what to say.

Pretty disappointing considering they've had so long to work on it with ROI only being a small expansion. All their megabombs were things I expected as a baseline for Destiny 2. What really hurts the most for me was Noseworthy saying the new patrol maps where twice as big as the old one when the rumor was that they were going to be bigger than all of the D1 patrol maps combined.

There's nothing to defend. D1 has 400k-500k log on's a week still. On a 3 year old base game with no PC installation base.

Destiny 2 is going to be huge, haters or not. The only thing one can hope is that it does enough to bring in new fans.

Because all criticism = haterz

I mean, that literally sounds like an MMO expansion. lol

Literally all WoW expansions?

Massive 'meh' from me so far.

Like really? No vehicles, no crazy mp game modes, no proper flying, no sparrow updates, didn't look like any reeeeally authored mission stuff, no new races, no nothing.

And launching with one raid?

If the best thing from the reveal was a map and a decent fast travel system, that's not saying much.

The expansions of every mmo?

You know...

People upset at this just want the artist to sell out a bit and not completely appeal to their core who helped them reach their current level. Their core fanbase (25 million registered users), helped them nearly 1 billion dollars to the company. Those fans however had issues with the game. This however? It fixes those issues, to those core fans. No reason to not stick to their core fans and appeal to those who don't like the series. I mean it's only right since those fans stuck with them.

Gotta say, being disappointed because you saw an untrue rumor or leak that wasn't delivered on is kind of silly, no? Cause it wasn't something that was actually going to exist in the first place

Yeah, they talked about multiple different new overworld things. Like dungeons to find, treasure maps leading to valuable chests, side quests from characters you find in the world.

Trust me. The ones defending it are even funnier.

Btw I wasn't trolling I'm just disappointed. I guess it's my fault though, I expected something else, something closer to what they showed the very first time. To me this still feels gutted to the original "you can actually go there" concept.

If you want to wander around an empty open world and walk to a mountain, go play zelda.

Destiny is a shooter, fans want epic action and lots of enemies, new raids, new powers. We got that. Looks great.

Destiny 2 really, really fucking needs the vehicle fun of Halo, and I'm really disappointed that they seem to have completely ignored that the game only has like, 3 of them, and all of them feel the same

Hope they reveal at least one new class at a later date.

I know they're just cosmetic in Destiny, but new playable races would also be welcome.

*shrug* At least it seems like they are nicely improving on the foundation Destiny put forth. More of the same can be pretty nice in some regards. I glad the PC version exists, but I'll probably still pass, having possibly more than enough interests elsewhere heh.

There was a new tank

that is what Guided Games are for

I missed that part, but saw that it was like a "digital Sherpa" or something? That doesn't seem like it'll allow those who literally had no experience with Destiny 1 to start joining the long-running clans of those who spent 1000s of hours in it. I mean, they talked big about "letting new players in" then proceeded to spout off line after line without any context for said new players, I just felt confused.

I did not play Destiny 1 because its structuring never felt like my type of game. Lots of buzzwords around world building but they looked like compartmentalized arenas.

Destiny 2 is not showing anything to get me on board.
