Anyone got a link to streamers playing crucible that ARE NOT HUNTERS?!?!
Honest question though. Why can't they release Destiny 1 for pc? Or do they intend to close shop for Destiny 1 once the sequel is out?
ThisEngrams could have been disabled so people didn't get to see weapons and armour that's not ready for public showing.
My reasoning is better. Xûr ate them all. This
Clearly different setting and look. That's the problem people have with Destiny 2, the visual identity is far too simular to Destiny 1.Uncharted 2. So... the same protagonist, same guns, more cinematic...

Damn, why does this sequel remind me of the first game so much? I thought Destiny 2 would be a hockey game.

Finally caught up with the new trailer, stream and strike gameplay. Being someone who played over a 1000 hours of Destiny and kinda got burned out on the game (not the game's fault, it was fun while it lasted), I was hoping D2 would be able to reignite that interest.
As of now, I don't see anything that shouts at me to get back in. It looks just like more of the same with some (hopefully good) improvements to the formula, similar to TTK. I was hoping they would completely go a different direction with at least a brand new class, maybe even the ability to play as alien races like the fallen and completely new enemy types we've never fought before with interesting new mechanics for the sequel. Yet all they were fighting were the same Cabal and Vex we've fought a thousand times before. Strike boss fights also look the same as before with lots of bullet sponging. I would've loved a new co-op mode that went alongside strikes/nightfalls.
I don't know, maybe they're holding stuff back to show later but so far from what we've seen, it just looks like yet another expansion pack, this time focusing on the Cabal as opposed to a true sequel. I hope I'm wrong.
These posts are 10x worse than the "lol DLC" posts.
They are using common sense though.I disagree, the "lol dlc" posts completely ruined the thread.
People need to use some common sense.
NopeXur's dead, wrapped in plastic.

People need to use some common sense. It's basically just trolling to call D2 an expansion.
Should people go into every sports and racing game thread and say "lol dlc?"
They are using common sense though.
As opposed to you belittling and sweeping away any legitimate criticism of Destiny 2 looking a bit too safe with your childish post? But it's different when you do it somehow, right?
The point is that posts like the one you made are just as thread-ruining as the ones you claim are ruining the thread. It's extremely hypocritical.Yeah, trolling Destiny threads since 2014 is not common sense.
I am all for criticism but calling it "DLC" invalidates any point after.

EDIT: Oh, I see you deleted your original post so I think you understand what I'm saying. Good.![]()
The problem isn't necessarily that it feels similar. That's to be expected if you have really solid game mechanics. The problem is that it looks very similar.Yeah, trolling Destiny threads since 2014 is not common sense.

Why shouldn't a sequel feel like the first game? Bungie is not stupid enough to just throw away the fanbase the first game built.
It was supposed to be funny but the point was lostensive:
Uncharted 2. So... the same protagonist, same guns, more cinematic...

There was no point. It was a shitty drive-by post meant to flame people that you disagree with.
That said, I do think that the people saying the game looks too similar to D1 aren't exactly being unreasonable. For better or for worse (depending on what you liked/didn't like about D1) the game appears to be very similar. I personally am hoping there is something yet to be revealed that sets Destiny 2 aside from it's predecessor.
Sequels should look similar to the game they follow.
Let's be real, people just trash Destiny for fun. Been happening for years.
The Uncharted games all look different. Battlefield 4 looks different to b1. Infamous games all look different.Sequels should look similar to the game they follow.

This is actually a great 1:1 for how I feel and my circumstance. But I was so dissapointed and frustrated I couldn't be bothered to post more than a paragraph at a time when I felt the need to post.
I've grinded to the point that I can't do it anymore, not even for new exotics. I can't fight the same hoards with minor updates over and over again. The game really needed something that changes the dynamics to get me to come back -- a new race, a new elemental subclass, passive race abilities, a new main class. I'm not interested in playing with the same toys again with a slightly different back drop.
I mean I said it right in my post that you quoted that they could have done it as an expansion but it would have meant slow content for 2-3 years.
And you completely disagree with what? That games don't use dropped ideas in the sequel?

You're right with what you say. It would be foolhardy to change too much as D1 got a lot right. I think the 'hardcore' just wanted a lot more content, a well-told story with bells and whistles, lore that's accessible through the game and obvious things like new armor and weapons. I'm satisfied with what I've seen. It looks really clean and well-polished already. Can't wait to jump in.I mentioned it a couple pages ago but it really is a weird place Destiny 2 is stuck in. They nailed the look of their universe right out of the gate for Destiny 1 so changing things wouldn't make a whole lot of sense. The UI is perfect as is so why change it? The art design looks great so why change it? There really isn't a whole lot to iterate on when it comes to the look of Destiny because it has such a distinct aesthetic. It's either change everything for no reason or keep things the same and get criticism that it's too similar.
Funny part is I kept reading this complaint. I was late to watching the video. As I finally got around to it, I was trying to pick out what was so similar and I still can't. I felt it was quite different and refreshing.
The Destiny defense force on GAF is so fucking annoying. Nah. We don't trash Destiny for fun. We trash Destiny because Bungie continue to fuck it up.
Come into any thread with valid criticisms of Destiny and you see the same DGAF figures come out of the woodwork to call you a troll or a shitposter. Go back to your community thread safe space if you don't want to engage in actual discussion.

We criticise the game plenty in the community thread. I've been criticising the game since day one, myself. There's a difference between valid criticisms and your incessant toy pram hurling which in your own words, is "so fucking annoying".
Bungie just spent an hour yesterday addressing the major criticisms that Destiny 1 received. That's not good for you though because "it feels like an expansion". Okay.
Hmm 4 worlds??
Here's an interesting factoid from Destiny 2's reveal: the new world Nessus is on a "visiting orbit" according to world design lead, Steve Cotton.
In the game the planet is a Vex machine world and, speaking to GamesRadar, Cotton said, "Nessus is a centaur, we called it a planetoid in the presentation but its a centaur." A centaur is a minor planet with an irregular orbit, which he explains means it's "a planet that orbits in our solar system in a weird way, a visiting orbit thing. We thought that was really fascinating. The Hunters catalogued this planet and thats how the Vex built their thing and now its coming into our solar system. So thats why its here."
Even more curious is that when we asked if that meant there might be a limited window to deal with it, he stated, "limited window."
It does add up: Destiny is set in our solar system and, last time I checked, there's no Nessus planet mentioned. As for what the idea of a "limited window" could mean? That's unclear. It could be a narrative time pressure in the story, but given Destiny's love of time-restricted events - Xur, Rise of Iron and so on - could it mean Nessus and it's content isn't always available every day?
And, finally, just to make things more interesting, it looks like it's a real planet: 7066 Nessus, to be precise. An icy minor planet discovered by David L. Rabinowitz in 1993. It has an orbital period of 122.4 years and at its closest point to the sun it's nearer than Uranus, while its furthest point takes it beyond Neptune.

So weekends at Nessus then! lol
