Episode 100 spoilers:
It turns out that Yamcha is both a total masochist and NTR, so he's perfectly fine with how his life turned out

Source: i heard it from a guy

I see a lot of people talking about pacing. I don't think the pacing is bad per se. If in each episode about some character we'd learn something new about them, or they have some sort of development or something that could be foreshadowing for the tournament (I think the krillin episode was fine in that regard) then I would be totally okay with it.
But the fact is that most of the episodes basically just amounted to "this character will also participate" and the rest being fluff, which is why I think the pacing feels bad.

The character I really want to see back is Grandpa Gohan. Goku can just teleport to heaven so he can meet him anytime. But Grandpa Gohan doesn't yet know that Goku was a member of an alien warrior race, he doesn't know that Goku married the daughter of his fellow Turtle School student Ox King, he doesn't know that Goku has a family and is a grandpa now too, he doesn't know that there's an upstanding and powerful young man name after him. And Goku never got to apologize to Grandpa Gohan face to face for killing him.

Not saying he should be powered up to Goku's level and become a regular member of the gang, but I'd like to see a miniarc or something about this.

FWIW, I don't think "it was anime filler" is a good enough reason to exclude something from Super (which isn't based on any manga) if its something that is good and popular. If Super wants to bring Pikkon into canon I don't see how that's a bad thing and "he was anime filler" doesn't seem like a good enough reason by itself to exclude him.

They met after Goku and Chi Chi's marriage in DB anime filler if I recall correctly.

Also, even though Goku isn't likely to visit Grandpa Gohan, it's possible Fortuneteller Baba stays in touch with the later and may have told him about the former.

The whole point of bringing back
Freeza
is that he was already stronger pretty much anyone else they could pick. Considering they only have like 4 hours left that is the reason he is being brought back, and not some fodder like Pikkon or Cell.

Filler has nothing to do with it.

If Pikkon was important to them he would have been in Dragon Ball Z Kai which is the canon telling of the Z series within the anime universe.

He's at least familiar with the design; he left some notes for the staff.

I doubt he even remembers though considering how he's forgotten some of his own characters before.

The only filler character he's ever used that he didn't create in the manga was Bardock, and he completely changed his origin for that.

I don't think filler is a reason to be excluded, but it is a reason they wont' have a huge role, significant enough that they're one of the 10 fighters.

Satan's men and Gregory are in Super, so it's possible Pikkon could return, maybe as someone Goku
visits to be a fighter, but his Kai doesn't allow it.

The way some people here and on other forums talk about Akira Toriyama not havin a handle on the storytelling made me think he was like some 80 year old dude. But I googled and he is only 62 lol. So maybe he forgets characters or plot threads but he should be fully cognizant of the story he is trying to tell. Stuff like Launch being dropped from the story was likely deliberate for reason x, y, or z.

Yeah, he's so irrelevant that he couldn't even make Gohan reach god level.

Oh.. Wait..

No.

He let Gohan get mystic form back.

Gohan's god level happened when he was meditating on his own.

Plus this isn't exactly helping your case. Piccolo has become completely irrelevant as a fighter, he was talking about Pikkon as a fighter obviously since that's his only purpose.

Lol, true. I always think back to Nappa, Gohan was only able to make Nappa's hand a bit numb after Piccolo's death lol.
Yeah, thankfully he does more against Vegeta.

Piccolo getting shot up by 3rd form Frieza gave Gohan a weak power up that didn't even hurt Frieza.

Piccolo getting shot, and as far as Gohan knew killed, by Frieza did nothing.

We don't talk about Piccolo's death in RoF.

They trained off screen after the episode. Piccolo must have taken Gohan to fight poachers.

Nappa being back would be funny cause I imagine it like a high school scenario where Nappa makes fun of Vegeta for hanging out with the nerds and he'd be denying it "naah uuuh" except its also funnier in my head when adding the context that Nappa would most likely be trying to murder them all.

Vegeta would just vaporize him again...actually make that a running gag nappa gets revived only to have vegeta to vaporize him again

Man, I really want a canon Nappa revival. And 16.

In the former case, I mostly want to see his mustache go SSGSS. Or to find out he's been training in HFIL and made it to Suoer Saiyan Level 3 with Raditz & thinks he's some great destroyer or something. On top of being the Piccolo to Vegeta's & Bulma's Pan-equivalent.

Would he? I don't think he would unless he started going on a rampage or something. Kinda like in GT.

Nappa would probably try to fight Vegeta and then stop when he realizes how much more powerful he is. I think Vegeta would at least show off before choosing to kill him. It always felt somewhat out of character to me that he didn't at least show him SSJ before vaporizing him in GT.

I think Vegeta would at least try to reason with Nappa. It would probably fail, but unless Nappa threatens Bulma/ Bra, or is causing unredeemable mayhem, I don't think he would outright kill him.

Obviously it made sense in GT, since they were in a chaotic situation.

Fuck now I want this to happen.

Yeah basically this. I see Nappa complying tbh after he learns about everything that went on after he died.
