All jokes aside, I think that has great potential! It's bit of a "Cell situation" in the sense that Gohan already had a change to analyze his opponent fighting against his dad (even if not as thoroughly as with Cell) .

If it were a more traditional tournament with 1v1 fights, this one could be a really good one!

Pus there's that whole "HEROES OF JUSTICE!" thing that could be amazing as well

One thing I don't get is the whole "Goku's acting confident" argument. This doesn't feel like the build up to the Cell Games, where Goku is relaxing and does no training at all, and flat out says he isn't confident he can win on multiple occasions. There were legit 4 or so episodes in a row where Goku had his guard down, and he learned something new from it, and Goku owned up to it, that doesn't seem like a confident Goku who is holding back some type of power.

I think that might be a callback to one time that Bulma made Oolong transform into her to convince Roshi to do something in DB, I honestly can't remember.
