USA Today!

Diana is genuine in her love for ice cream. She and the film are genuine about everything, which is what makes it feel so special. In a time when the public discourse is fraught and full of misinformation and hatred, watching Wonder Woman fight so hard and so earnestly for love is a profound experience.

It’s hard not to feel, well, wonderful.

I love comicbooks/superhero shit so I was pretty pissed at the awfulness of Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, and Suicide Squad

BvS's terribleness was something I took rather personally

Despite my hatred of the rest of this franchise, I am glad they got a winner.

I wonder how much of Justice League's polishes & rewrites were a quick attempt to recenter the film less on Bruce's bullshit and more on Diana.

Because it really, really seems like if the DCEU is going to have a beating heart, it's not going to belong to Bruce or Clark.

Wonder Woman being the central figure for the DCEU would be amazing.

Look, I think crow threads are dumb. And there's really no "but!" here. Just, Gal endured some ol' bullshit and it's heartening to see her get her deserved credit.

I'll admit to being skeptical, as well. She proved me wrong. Gal's fantastic in it.

Not calling for crow. Just pointing out that people like to give off hot takes when actors are announced for roles, not fully understanding why someone was cast.

We just recently had that shit with the Han Solo set photos thread.

Good to see the great reviews. I'm pretty confident that this is going to be a turning point for DC aside from the upcoming JL (cause Snyder) given the talent they have lined up.

I still say they can have Flash go back and change things. A real do-over.

The rewrites were focusing more on Bruce and his arc.

I'm genuinely impressed with the reviews, even having seen the film myself. I don't really agree with some of the high praise I'm reading, but I'm happy for Gal and Patty Jenkins and for fans that have been holding their breath over this movie.

Scott Mendelson's review blurb on RT is the most him thing I have read: "It's a lot closer to 'Batman Begins' than 'Green Lantern'."
Jesus, lol.

Great to see DC finally pump out a top tier superhero movie. Gal Gadot is gonna make bank when her contract is renewed after JL.

Ok so guys, now that it's a proven great movie...

When is it OK to become furious Wonder Woman is basically a better Superman than Superman ?

Fuck sake man. =(

Patty please save Man of Steel 2.

Yeah they made both waaaaay too dark and brooding. Like I get they were trying to get a different vibe than Marvel and well Bruce is a pretty fucked up dude but between the two there isn't a whole lot of happiness / reason to get behind them. It's basically just 2 dudes either depressed or pissed off all the time hitting / killing shit.

Glad to see WW nails the tone here and she can hopefully offset their darkness in JL a bit

Maybe. It would be nice to see the DCEU recover.

Unless they are heavily invested in Marvel vs DC fanboy wars, I don't think anyone really wants a decade of shitty DC movies. Between this, Wan's Aquaman, Batgirl, and others, at least there's some optimism now.

So it turns out Gal Godot was the perfect choice for Wonder Woman. I hope everyone who called her "too skinny" to play WW will shut the fuck up now, but I doubt it.

I'm sure Gal will end up with the second most screentime, with Mamoa right behind her, but there's no way Bruce isn't the main character

They paid a lot of money for Affleck, didn't they?

JL is just around the corner...
Snyder + Whedon will bring it. Believe.
