Wonder Woman (DCCU) Review Thread (RT 93%)

That's not a bad place to be...unless Babs is in it and she starts throwing motherfuckers around like she's Orton.

I'd pay to see Batgirl do Poison Ivy like this.

Boxoffice for this will be way way lower than BvS and Suicide Squad even with better reviews i predict. The movie opens on friday here and the ticket sales are miniscule.

I think the movie will have more legs, though.

BvS had a great opening weekend but the bad word of mouth really hurt it, which won't be the case of WW. Chances are it won't do as well as SS but it will still do pretty damn good.

WW has a much smaller budget though. Marketing and actual movie.

They're counting on good WoM too.

What crow? I'm going to see Wonder Woman. Hoping it's good but pointing out that only a small percentage of reviews dropped. Besides, Alien Covenant already ruined RT forever. A crossover of Suicide Squad and Green Lantern would probably be a better movie than the next piece of garbage Ridley Scott gestates out.

If Wonder Woman is good probably means Spider Man is destined to fail. Just the way it has to be.

It's almost as if RT is an aggregate of people's opinions.

Starting to get really sad as a Superman fan.

=(

It's like when you get fired but your cousin got a promotion.

You're like kinda happy but feeling like shit too.

Also there is a pre-screening on thursday and about a third of the tickets available for that screening is sold. So yeah, this movie seems to bomb thanks to the earlier missteps by DCEU.

I would like to think that's the reason sales will be worse, but you know everyone is going to blame it being a female-centered movie.

But Supergirl is Superman's cousin.

Seriously, I feel the same, Superman deserves to be done right now more than ever. Hopefully the MoS sequel hasn't been completely shitcanned and is still in development.

Ridiculous hyperbole aside, Covenant had a relatively low average score. One of the lowest scores I've ever seen for a freshly rated film, actually. Indicates that the majority of reviewers thought the movie was OK at best. Nobody actually thought highly of it.

Using RT as intended to get context for reviews is hard though, I understand.

So you're just going to ignore the multiple tracking reports for the movie because your local theater isn't sold out?

Isn't Artemis in this movie already?

Not that has been made public in any way. If you're assuming it was Robin Wright, she's not. She's playing Antiope.

Perhaps if in the future sequels, they have Diana return to Themyscira, there can be some new Amazons for her to meet or something.

Its just my local theatre, both 2 biggest cities in Sweden. But maybe the movie will fair better in the US with good word of mouth. Lets hope that, DCU needs this movie to do well.

Can we all just sit back and appreciate how good it is to be a comic fan right now?

Logan, LEGO Batman, Guardians and now Wonder Woman. Spider-Man Homcoming in July and in November, Thor receives film redemption.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. just had one of the best runs in this entire 2016-2017 television season. Arrow has apparently completely turned things around.

No more fanboy wars, guys. Let's just bask in this.

Totally agreed with this. Also you shouldn't forget that Injustice 2 is out this year, and also Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite is going to be out this year as well.

Really happy it turned out to be good. Both DCEU and superhero genre as a whole needed this to be good.

This looks like the best year ever for superhero movies. You could always bet on Marvel, but GotG 2 is one of their best yet and both DC and Fox deliver the goods too. Now we need Sony to stop sucking, which looks likely too. Great time to be alive as a fan.
