Wonder Woman (DCCU) Review Thread (RT 93%)

Oh really? I thought he was still doing stuff 'on the quiet' on his personal Facebook page. Either way I always thought Faraci was one of the most insightful film writers on the net.

He does from time to time, last one was a mini-review of King Arthur

Hardcore DC fans still haven't understood that they were defending bad movies, if it's good, it's good... word of mouth doesn't come from online critics

Also, how the fuck do we get WB to give Gotham City Sirens to Patty?! We need Ayer to stay far away.

Depending on the schedule, Ayer might have to drop out to direct Scarface.

I think Warners wants it for 2019 so we'll see.

In general, sure. Like most fanboys, DC fanboys are nuts. But Faraci is a deplorable person. That's the one time it was crazy vs crazy.

Jesus Christ that thread...

She was fantastic in BvS... one of the best (only good) things about that movie. I'm so happy the people in that thread can all [insert-expletive-of-choice] now.

Remember when this guy was cast as Batman?

Conveniently forgetting Bales role in American Psycho in which he was shredded. The role that earned him a lot of good will going forward as Bruce Wayne.

They should ask Michelle MacLaren if she wants to return for Gotham City Sirens. She would've definitely made a good WW film although tim elated with who we got.

Margot is the one developing that movie as producer, and she seems to have gotten along well enough with Ayer in realizing the character to want to him directing Sirens.

Also, to be fair to Ayer, folks gotta remember he had six weeks to crank out that Squad screenplay. It sounds like he'll have way more time to hammer away at Sirens to make something much stronger.

That's what I'm hoping for, anyway.

The biggest detriment to Suicide Squad appeared to be the studio executives insisting on being allowed into the editing room and subsequently mutilating the film beyond recognition.

Not entirely sure if it would be right to pin all of that film's failings on Ayer.

I'd love to be impressed, as I love that group of characters and the premise. I'm just really nervous about that project in particular, between Ayer directing. Some of the casting rumors. I really hope it comes together as I love Margot as Harley, the only redeeming aspect of SS.

Batman didn't change instantly, as I said. His change starts in the fight scene with the Martha callout but doesn't fully happen until superman sacrifices himself and we're at the end of the movie.

I see where your coming from, but the whole "Death of Superman" felt extremely forced, so it just tainted everything that came along with it.

Plus 10 minutes later...

Goes back to old ways...

Him not doing it did show progress, but what was the point to even go in there in the first place.
If he wasn't going to brand him, then what info did he need from him?

EDIT: I saw the R-Rated ending so him telling Lex he was transferring him just made the branding iron look like an obvious empty threat, which wasn't needed because he is the fucking Batman.
His presence alone was all the intimidation needed.

It was like he was just there to hear "ding dong Darkseid is coming"
How convenient for the plot and setup of the next films.

I'm on my 5th dish of crow on Wonder Woman

Ever since BvS I've fallen in love with Gal
She didn't do much, but her look alone was enough to have me convinced.
These gifs and her appearance on Conan cement my feelings.

1930s- Wonder Woman 2, Circe as the villain.
1960s - Wonder Woman 3, Cheetah, Veronica Cale as the villains.

Nah, like I said earlier, I'd want Cheetah as the villainess in an Indiana Jones style globetrotting movie set pre-WWII. Using her Bombshells design, naturally.

It's never good to entirely blame a film on the director, especially in the case of the studio film there are a lot of people and things that go into them. Suicide Squad seems like a case of "too many cooks in the kitchen", in retrospect!

Coincidently while i'm not a fan Snyder and MOS, BvS was worse because of this

That doesn't look like the furry dream I recognize Cheetah to be from Injustice 2

Also I think Ayer's cut of Squad was garbage and they knew it so they stepped in

"Hey you have like a month to write this"
"Your cut of the movie is shit so someone else will do it"

Ooh, I'm delighted to hear that this is good. I suspect it's gonna be excellent in the first and second acts (the Themyscira/period piece stuff) and that the third act will be less-great CG-baddie stuff, but if the first two acts nail it hard enough to garner these reviews I'm gonna be really happy with it overall (I'd call that pretty good for the superhero genre).

so is it good interesting.

will check that out friday i hope reviews arent meme and movie is good, though some reviews feels like meme like better then dark knight.
