Don't tell me your one of those sprint is the devil people or are you referring to microtransactions

I don't really want to get into it on this thread, but yes I have issues with the effect sprint and clamber have had on the flow of the game and design of the maps. I still like Halo5 a lot, but the inclusion of sprint and clamber have removed elements of the game that I and many others found more enjoyable. IMO run&gun is better for Halo than runORgun. Don't tell me you discredit the opinion of people who don't like sprint?.,,

I'm not opposed MTs, but I think the implementation in halo and Gears leave much to be desired.

so are you telling me that SP will just be a random tps with bad graphics and basic destruction?

No i don't tell you that.
I tell you, that the destruction in multiplayer will be much more and varied.

I mean in a linear singleplayer campaign it does not even make sense to destroy everything

Just watching the CD3 Alpha stuff makes me hope they have a over-powere4d weapon mode, so we can just deathmatch and blow the crap out of everything.

Loved the first CD, played a load of CD2 and was disappointed but CD3 is a long time coming and it could be utterly amazing, if they make good on the crazy gang ideas from the first games and expand on the super-hero stuff as well.

No, they are telling you there would be an insane amount of backslash if Ms demanded a SP campaign to be online only, after all the DRM debacle and the media "slight" tendency to overblown everything out of proportion.

I love when people get all circular with their critique of Crackdown.

Dev: we are going to use the power of the cloud,
"Concerned" gamer: lol that won't work
Dev: here watch this 17min demo of it working
"Concerned" gamer: gotta be online to play solo? Lol
Dev: we've got an offline single player mode
"Concerned" gamer: W/o cloud-based distruction? Lol

Now people are complaining that they can't access the online components of the game if they are offline. I've seen it all.

I wonder when MS put up an article or video on Xbox Wire? The show is a week tomorrow and they normally try to generate a bit of anticipation with a hype video or something similar. Quick sixty second video teasing what we know and what we don't.

I do yes. but that's not for this thread

Yeah but Red Faction did the exact same thing like 10 years ago on a weaker console, this is just typical MS and their underpowered console wanting us to be online all the time for no benefits.

Red faction didn't do "the exact same thing" the hyperbole knows no bounds.

It's and understatement to say that what crackdown does is a massive advancement for real-time physics in comparison to red faction.

Dont get me wrong RF is a pioneer when it comes to this stuff... but crackdown aims to raise the bar considerably.

Lol I can never tell these days!!

And here I am with my gifs lol

Hahah, left out the /s because I didn't think it was necessary, but I'm glad I'm not the only one that got pissed off at people not seeing the difference between those gifs a few years back. I've been waiting for Crackdown 3 since the Xbox One reveal.

But in Red Faction Guerilla this was fully in the story mode and all structures could be demolished. But that game world was quite different from Crackdown.

It's fine with me as long as they bring a great SP mode. Bring me tons of orbs too. :)

Man if the physics compare to the tech demo it's going to be epic!

I sure hope so. That footage looked fantastic and hopefully they didn't downgrade it or anything. Was that running off a Xbox One back then?

Please forgive me. I've been dealing with some real doosies in the EA access thread, so my sarcasm meter is not calibrated well.

True, but Crackdown's always had a lot of platforming too, especially with getting those orbs, so it may not make sense to be able to level buildings completely. I do expect there'll be some level of destruction that's been designed so that we have to use it to platform/gain access to areas though.

For multiplayer, in which you only need to keep the buildings broken until the end of the match, and for what I'll assume is your standard deathmatch and objective matches, it isn't as necessary.

No worries man, the crap you see on this site is beyond belief sometimes so I don't blame ya.

Crackdown offline single player is going to be... new Crackdown. Big city, orbs to chase, gangs to bust. All the Crackdown stuff from, you know, the first game, which I dunno you guys I kind of enjoyed :P

Multiplayer will be the technical showcase. Hoping there'll be a co-op freeroam with full destruction and shit. Would be dope as hell.

For reference:

People joke but the reality is a lot of gamers are more or less idiots and will go along with whatever rubbish EA/Ubisoft/Bethesda etc put out.

This directly impacts other gamers as games move from a "make a good game, try to sell it" model to the future "we have your money already so fuck you" model.

Sony are quite right to protect the rest of gaming from those gamers and in turn those gamers from themselves. It is basically the equivalent of making cocaine illegal. People can still make their own choice about it if they want to buy or use it, but ultimately it does a lot of harm to the wider society and you shouldn't really be asking the addicts to decide policy around it.

PSNow is only available in very select areas and nobody is ever going to be using it for a long time in any serious way. It is basically the gaming equivalent of a methadone clinic where Sony hopes that it assists gamers who can't help themselves from using something more destructive.

I thought the second poster was trolling the first one... upon closer inspection THEY WERE THE SAME GUY😣😣😣

How does the online in Crackdown 3 even work? Is it like the first one where you can do full co-op together?

Is it more like GTA Online?

lol these strawmen arguments. It isn't hard to understand what people want. People are saying that they'd like the cloud destruction to also be in campaign as an option. In other words, if they're online, they can have it enabled, if they're not, then it won't be.

Hell, I'd take just a free-roam mode (outside of campaign, but not multiplayer) where I can just go around doing whatever I want, including destroying the city.

Because having the destruction be multiplayer-only is cool and all, but if it's going to be a situation where it's just a massive free-for-all where there are 10-20 other players and you can all kill each other like GTA Online, then I can see why people don't want that to be the only option.

Why not though? It might mean we get something a lot of want to actually play and it will actually sell too. Unlike SO sadly.

I don't believe in audience-driven creative design.

At worst, I'll accept if devs are unsure what of two/three equally good ideas to proceed with, and get audiences to vote, like what Press Play did.

Not a "we'll make what you want, so please tell us what'd you like."

Finally finished my Microsoft E3 Predictions video!

I'm basically expecting a 50/50 approach when it comes to third party games (looking amazing running on Scorpio) and first party games (which means a lot of announcements of new games). This could be a great show for Microsoft, I have high hopes!
Really nice video. I have high hopes too. And I hope that Microsoft will resurrect some old IP like Blinx: The Time Sweeper and Project Gotham Racing. I suppose Microsoft Flight Simulator could work well with Project Scorpio, though I doubt we'll see anything new in that series for quite a while.

The cloud-powered destruction will not necessarily be multiplayer only. We don't know yet.

What we do know is that the cloud will not affect the campaign in any way. That's a good thing in my opinion. I don't want them to mess up the platforming and collectathon aspects. Feel free to experiment in Crackdown 4, but for now I'd like a proper sequel that builds on what the series is known for.
