I love the tonal shift of Frieza's hell the instant he is released from his cocoon. The colour palette change. As if his power simply being allowed to escape confinement transforms the whole area.

I was under the impression that the creepy purple palette is the real color of hell while the more pleasing, Earth-like palette is part of Frieza's punishment. When Goku cut his cocoon hell reverted to its true colors.

The locations in DB might be my favorite thing about the DB universe. The rainy planet from Universe 6 where most of Hit's scenes take place at is another highlight. It kind of reminds me of the planet where two characters were having drinks at a fancy bar while their other teammate was helping rescue a cat from an industrial area that reminded me of Midgar from FF7. Super and the DB universe is just beautiful and Super has really broadened the appeal of the DB universe.

I have very mixed feelings on the Buu arc but once Buu is battling Goku and Vegeta on the Kai's planet, I think it's some of the best stuff in DB. That planet is gorgeous and a great place for a story ending fight.

I prefer the overall stories of Hunter X Hunter and One Piece to DB (there are tiers to strength in those but the playing field and ability for characters to matter in fights is a lot more level than it is in DB), but the universe of DB is so appealing that DB continues to hold my love and interest along those two other shonen.

I think the DB universe can benefit by feeling more about going on adventures than just fighting a Big Bad for whatever arc the story is on. Early DB had this. I think Super, Xenoverse and Heroes have helped bring this back to the DB universe

I don't think Frieza was so much joking, so much as he hoped Goku would actually say he needs him this time.

Speaking of Frieza, I really liked how he poked at Goku's weakness of seeing how strong others could get, with Goku more or less agreeing with him. It shows a level of awareness on both Goku and Frieza's part.

I doubt there is a 1:1 correspondence between living people and dead people. The cleansed souls are probably just redistributed as general energy for the living. Buu=Uub was a special case. In the Janemba movie they literally just dump souls as fluids into a machine.

That machine was meant to cleanse the evil of the souls according to the Janemba movie though. They weren't destroying them or something.

According to what Piccolo said in the Buu Saga, evil souls are cleansed and then reincarnated. So, the only thing special about Uub is that it got done faster and in a way convenient to Goku (with him being reborn on Earth).

Coincidentally, I didn't like the fact the scenery didn't change from the energy pulses releasing from Kale while she was transforming. That's one of the things that made Broly transforming SO FREAKING COOL

I really don't like Namek. The planet itself would have been fine for a couple of chapters or a final battle, like the Kaioshin planet, but it really needed more unique locations besides the elder's tower if they wanted to keep the series there for an entire arc.

They should at least do the Saiyan God ritual for Gohan since it'll up his base form. But I guess he'll just yo his base form by practicing for an hour anyway like everyone else has been doing.

The second they had her flying with her arms in, the explosive wave from her chest, the green energy sphere and finally the energy increasing......she is just a fem Broly in so many ways, though I do love her for it.

Also while watching the events it seems all but stated Kale will fall for Cabba eventually, but it would be way amazing if they actually had be Kale be gay and actually into Caulifa instead of the generic girls who fight over the guy scenario.

Kale did refer to Caulifla as "Big Sis" but I don't think they're related. The term Caulifla uses for Kale has a double meaning. "Imouto-bun" means both 'protege' and carries the meaning "Seen as a little sister".

'Sis' is the equivalent of calling another guy 'bro' here. I don't expect it to go anywhere, and it could just be a case of Kale deeply respecting and admiring Caulifla, but I agree with Arched's interpretation.

Also to note Lesbian anime with characters that are Younger do very often call their love interest Sis or Nee on the lead up to sexual preference coming out and often times never does and it's just implied.
