If SSJ3 ruined Baba's 24 hours, I can't imagine this golden training is gonna do Frieza any favor.

He's probably gonna disappear during the tournament and leave U7 missing one fighter.

In fact, they'll probably lose because of this.

I gotta ask, I remember in Z, Goku came back for 24 hours but because he went SS3 his time ran out faster.

Freeza going Gold, would that make his "time" run out faster?

Edit: Wow, I had the same idea as Slaythe lol.

Wow I don't recall that being a thing at all. I need to brush up on my Buu saga.

That...actually makes sense! Wonder if they'll play with that or just "ignore" it because plot.

So the art was really good this episode, with lots of fun interactions, but I loved this scene with how expressive Frieza is in just a few seconds. You can practically read his thoughts from his face.

Now we get to see him be "friendly" and it delivered already. "Oops, my hand slipped." I loved that Goku immediately hit back with the exact same line. Those two... they get each other, not that either would admit it.

Exactly, they're best friends and they don't want to admit it yet. This warm up is gonna be like stacking their beds on top of each other to make bunk beds. They're gonna show up to the tournament like Step Brothers.

That Roshi scene in Karin tower was great, and I never thought we would have seen this technique again in Super

I really love how Super still remember the original Dragon Ball. Also the poacher thing coming up is such a dragon ball arc, like red ribbon henchmen or the pilaf gang shenanigans.

I think they are foreshadowing something for the next episode, this episode was showing that everyone came to Bulma's place and the team is ready, Goku goes to pick Frieza, something easy on paper but he refuses 3 times Goku's hand and transforms to kill the assassins.
At this point I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't make it to the team, either this or u9 is gonna get erased. Next episode is pretty hype

He's going to use all of his energy up going gold like others have stated and get sent back after killing off the assassins.

I also had this thought, but I'm assuming they'll just ignore it.

Goku took his time transforming into SSJ3 to buy time.
Why so?

He named his daughter after is ex GF.

The names are pronounced the same in English, not in Japanese. Also no he didn't.

Goku cheerily meets with the killer of his birth father at the place where he last saw his adoptive father. Though that's just the nature of Baba's services, I suppose.

One thing I loved, 18 said Marron was tougher than she looks.

She totallllly passed down her super human genes.

I can't wait to see 17's son now, and see them both grown up in End of Z.

The cousins can replace the twins :D .

All I know is that transformation sequence better be implemented for my Freeza race character in Xenoverse 3.

Depending on if I'm still interested in playing the Xenoverse series after Dragon Ball Fighters.

I knew Frieza joining would make things interesting regardless of whether I liked the idea or not, but this has surpassed my expectations lol

Holy shit I wasn't expecting much from this episode and they delivered greatly!
  • Animation was fine throughout the episode, the Frieza transformation was great
  • Loved Vegeta going insane internally for defending Frieza
  • The interactions between 18, Krillin, Marron and 17 was handled perfectly, what a cute family they all are
  • Loved small details like Trunks and Goten going "huh?" at Marron wishing her parents to do a good job
  • Piccolo and 17's exchange was fucking perfect, so on point.
  • Roshi training and having a bit of an emotional moment with Karin
  • Frieza being Frieza and going for a quick one on Goku, Goku answering back inkind
  • The Golden Frieza transformation, that shit was glorious
There wasn't much action but I totally loved this one, whoever directed, wrote and animated this episode should be commended, this should be golden standard for the recruitment episodes for sure.

Undead Fantasy, I offer a truth.
