But, like... why? It seems completely random, I don't know. I would rather have another game set in the ICO universe if they plan to go with the multiplayer, open-world thing.
It seems strange to me because I always got the impression that TLG was going to be the last Ueda game in a while, and I doubt his studio is developing it. And I don't know if I'm down for a SOTC remake by another studio.

Yeah that was just my initial thoughts, no doubt it'll be something new. Excited to see what it is even though i love Infamous and wouldn't mind new games.
I do remember however one of the Sucker Punch guys saying "There's more to tell in the Infamous universe" or something along those lines

Hopefully we won't have any executives on stage, even if they show a lot of 3rd party content like Destiny, Battlefront, COD, Far Cry, FIFA... I want it to be just trailers/gameplay sections, which is basically all that matters. I don't want people on stage saying what the vision of their company is, save that bullshit for press releases or something. Also no screaming guys, I have no idea what Microsoft was thinking yesterday.

It doesn't have to be that big. If it's a remake on the big stage, with improved graphics. That's more eyes on the game. Add in multiplayer and you've opened it up to a lot of people.
An actual remake of SOTC would be kind of a weird announcement to me. Obviously, it's getting hype in this thread and I'd love to play it, but it just doesn't seem like it would generate the hype and sales of, say, an RE2 or FF7 remake. It would just be a really bizarre announcement to me. Not sure what to make of all this.

If it's Bluepoint (speculation of course), then it's a remake. Their website distinguishes between all their previous games as remasters and what they are working on right now as a remake.
