Dragon Ball FighterZ - Gameplay Footage - 60 FPS Direct Feed

It's funny because not only is the sailor tubby thing super tongue in cheek to begin with, but her transformed form is also a subversion of what you'd normally expect from this sort of thing. It's Toriyama as hell.

I lowkey really want Ribrianne. She's amazing.

DB is at its best when it's just having fun, which is why I love Ginyu Force, Majin Buu and Great Saiyaman.

This animation type is so bad, but damn the art is so good. I'll buy it anyway, but more full animations would be nice. Yeah, it's their thing and I respect it, but it's just not for me. Can't knock them though, as they are being faithful to who they are. I'd kill to see this with full animations though.

Oh well, day 1, etc.

856.gif

WHat I find funny about this gif is that it actually totally fits Sailor Moon's original manga run. It was a bit darker and their diadem attacks literally sliced enemies in pieces XD

Huh, are you talking about super flashes and the dust hits?

Im not sure. Maybe I could explain better using this combo video. Start at 12 seconds
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOC0mU5zr2s

When Sol lands some of the attacks (like the kick in the air) both him and his opponent just freeze there for a second. Im not even sure how to explain it. But to me that stun seems to last a long time in their games when compared to something like street fighter. I don't even know if it does but it just looks weird to me

Lmao actually this gif kinda shows what im seeing. Fast movement, freeze frame, fast movement, freeze frame.

The freeze frame like thing in-between attacks still bother me way more than it should. I'd play it but im not sure that ill ever buy an arc system works game just because of that.

Other than that It looks like the perfect 2.5d dbz game. But that freeze frame thing REALLY bothers me. Like I know its just hit stun but it looks really weird to me in their games. I dont even know why
Are you talking about the intended low frame rate to mimic sprite authenticity? Or Impact hits?

ArcSys does that to show power in hits and to signal to both players something connected loud and clear. Super strong hits tend to have that short pause, they know their games are fast and chaotic and that the players need to be able to identify wtf is going on clearly

If we're going for a list of 20

- Goku (assuming Blue is a 5 bar super like Golden Freeza)
- Vegeta (assuming Blue is a 5 bar super like Golden Freeza)
- Teen Gohan
- Mystic/Ultimate Gohan
- Piccolo
- Future Trunks
- Gotenks
- Krillin
- Hercule/Mr Satan
- Freeza (Golden being a transform)
- Perfect Cell
- Majin Buu
- Super Buu (with possible Kid Buu inclusion as a super/finisher (not playable) )
- 16
- 17
- 18
- Beerus
- Hit
- Black
- Kale (because Broly isn't canon but girl Broly is)

Movie characters can be DLC. Or more people from the Tournament of Power.

Ohhh thank you. Thats bothered me for years for some reason. But now that I know why it makes sense.

The framerate never bothered me . I always thought they were running at 60fps .

Combat looks like Marvel vs Capcom, but slower. I'm not feeling it at all.
Why cant they make a good RPG based on the franchise? The one on SNES was alright, but IP has such a potential for an awesome ARPG.

Ky's crouching hardslash attack is a good example of this, it's a two hit move but when it wiffs its' a very fast fluid upwards swing. When it hits it is slow and each of the two hits gives you time to register how you want to cancel it. This is important because if you let the second hit you get higher damage from it but you lose out on his corner loops in some cases as the second hit lets the opponent recover faster.

Edit:
On wiff
On hit

As I said in the other thread, people Demanding no Super in this game are fighting the same losing battle as the people demanding no prequels or EU in Battlefront

They did an RPG on 3DS last year, it's called Dragon Ball Fusions. It's pretty great. Maybe you should pick that up.

This looks way fun!

Though, on ps4, there some sort of joystick arcade controller i'll need? Doubt the DS4 would do all to well...

This looks real good.

Amazing even. Going to be playing a lot of fighting games over the next few years. Hoping they bring Soul Calibur next year or after too. They did a great job with Tekken 7 and this just looks fantastic and I love the fast, reaching move style. I'm in. Wasn't on my radar at all.

For me this game is the one I dreamt to be next after playing Saturn's Shin Butoden

DUDE

Shin Butoden! I remember seeing it at a game store.
Felt like it was doing it's best to capture the spirit of the show

Every DBZ fighting game for me after that has been a disappointment.

This is Everything I have been waiting for.
I love that it looks like the show. But man I feel sorry for 2D animators.
