Sony Playstation: First Party Studios & their Current Projects

Yup. Scorpio pricing thread is blowing up nicely. Hopefully after the price is officially set, we can all focus more on games. :)

Microsoft can have one hell of a show and at the end kill it all with a $500 Scorpio price tag. I still say $400. At $500, Microsoft would have been better off waiting another year, implement a far better CPU and make it their next gen console and get out of the "one" brand name. Worse case scenario for me, I'll use the Xbox One Slim for exclusives and stick with the PS4 Pro as my primary.

And yes, games, games, games. Just hoping for a few release dates.

It's funny how quiet this topic is just before the storm. I felt MS's conference was good for games in general but extremely poor for actual first-party content (which should be the main selling point of the console). I sincerely hope Sony's does not do the same.

We already have five big confirmed AAA titles, and I'm sure Sucker Punch and a few surprises will be there.

Matt, one of the insiders here, said new stuff is gonna be announced. It may not be their "best conference ever," but it looks good if I'm reading him right.

I think the quietness is due to Sony having an E3 thread where everybody's currently at.

I just got a copy of Horizon shipped yesterday so I'm hyped for that. But I got plenty of games to play. Got tons of unopened PS4 games here I have yet to play through. Gravity Rush, Beyond, God of War 3, Knack, Until Dawn, Killzone etc. dunno how to keep up lol.

Yeah. Sony has had such a fantastic 2017 I could use a breather. Just show me some shit coming in 2018/2019 so I can catch up. lol

Five? Maybe:
- Days Gone
- God of War
- Spider-Man
- Dreams?
- Detroit?

Hopeful for:
- Bloodborne 2/FromSoft's next
- Sucker Punch's next
- PixelOpus' next
- Something new from Arrowhead (Helldivers 2 would be amazing but I'd be down for a brand new game)

I would really enjoy a surprise from Sucker Punch. We're expecting a new IP, right? I love the infamous series a lot and would like to see another entry but I'm ready for a new IP as well.

I haven't been following this thread too closely but wasn't there a rumour about a JRPG from Sony Japan Studio? Do we know what happened to that? MIA/Cancelled?

Knack 2 (9/5, $39.99)
Playlink (party games, 2017)
Matterfall (8/15)
Everybody's Golf (8/29, $39.99)
Gran Turismo Sport (Fall 2017)
Superhot VR (Summer 2017)

I'm posting this on the main E3 thread, but I'll try to just do the first party stuff here.

Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds (2017)
Days Gone (didn't see a date)
Shadow of the Colossus (2018)
The Inpatient (VR)
God of War (early 2018)
Detroit: Become Human (???)
Spider-Man (2018)

Whoops, thought there was another post. Gonna update this until others post below. Sorry.

As a Spider-Man fan, that Spider-Man footage was really disappointing. The wall running felt off, the way it's activated near walls looked buggy, the web-slinging had a weird physique going on, and tons of QTEs up in this. Only good thing was the combat, and even then there was a lot of "press button to hook you in" like in Batman.

Detroit looked to had a slight visual downgrade too, and Days Gone still don't have a hook.

I'm still gonna buy all these games, but meh.

Shadow of the Colossus and Uncharted looked very nice though. Oh yeah, super hyped about Monster Hunter World.

Gotta admit that felt a bit weak to me overall. I enjoyed a lot of the games I saw but wasn't blown away but I probably set my expectations a bit high after the last few showings. Even Spidey felt a bit derivative and the huge amount of QTE's is not usually a great sign for me in games like that.

Ruin4r was right... Really don't want to believe it but man that source is legit. I wonder how high up the chain that info comes from.

Anyways there is still PSX/Parisgamesweek/Gamescom to see what's up. Still a lack of a big IP at E3 was surprisingly.

Considering they have their own big event with PSX at the end of the year, I don't think it's too shocking that they don't have a ton of big announcements every single show these days.
