At the same point in time, I'd argue trusting Goku was a fatal mistake so it's still tien's fault.
Hahaha, fair.

I'm struggling to see how he's been set up to be a hero though?
Vegeta's Super Saiyan Blue stance in DBF confirmed
Watch in Japanese, start with the Dragon Ball anime then go to the Dragon Ball Kai anime (a "remaster" of Z). The first part of Kai cuts out most of the filler, but sadly Kai The Final Chapters leaves most of the filler in for the final arc.
One thing I'm happy with about DBF is actual combo's, and comboing into Super attacks.. Xenoverse's press one button to do something is embarrassing.
Xenoverse has 2 attack buttons that you can chain together for combos as well as different technical things like teleports and such to do combos.
Is Dragon Ball Kai a reimagining of Dragon Ball or Dragon Ball Z?
It's Z with non-manga stuff removed, but with Bardock.
The scientist? It's Z with non-manga stuff removed, but with Bardock.
The scientist?
Especially the Resurrection F stuff. As the story was, Vegeta beat up a worn out Freeza who was already essentially losing to Goku.
If Vegeta was to be the hero of that arc/movie, I would've had him and Goku reverse roles. Have Vegeta be the one to wear Freeza out but because he's starting to take his time with the fight to return the favor for what happened to his race, he gets taken out by the laser gun. Then have Goku "defeat" Freeza, but his willingness to let him live results in the Earth getting destroyed. And then have Vegeta be the one to deliver the killing blow.
I felt like that scenario would've been more satisfying and actually better display both their flaws.
So do I watch it like this:
1) Dragon Ball Kai
2) Dragon Ball Kai The Final Chapters
3) Dragon Ball Super
Ignore:
- Dragon Ball
- Dragon Ball Z
?
1) Dragon Ball
2) Dragon Ball Z (or Dragon Ball Kai if you want to skip fillers, but there is more censorship and top and bottom parts of the screen are cut out to fit 16:9 aspect ratio)
3) Dragon Ball Super
He is waaay different than Buu saga. That was still a guy who would die for his pride, valued strength over his family, ect ect. Current Vegeta actually took a master, trained with Goku, and learned to take a joke. He's about as different as he could possibly be.
Anyways, I feel he has never been set up better to be the hero. It feels like the perfect moment. He's becoming the voice of reason while Goku is edging on heel turn with his bullshit.
Do not ignore Dragon Ball.
Only Final Chapters is cropped.
Z's filler makes it a bad recommendation for a new comer.
Alright. Well, I'm gonna watch Dragon Ball to start with. And I see it has 153 episodes whoa!
So do I watch it like this:
1) Dragon Ball Kai
2) Dragon Ball Kai The Final Chapters
3) Dragon Ball Super
Ignore:

- Dragon Ball Z
?
I'm gonna start and see if it is something for me, and if it is something I will want to invest time into. When I've finished Dragon Ball, I hope you don't mind me asking what to watch next again.
But I'm confused now:
1) Dragon Ball
2) Dragon Ball Kai
3) Dragon Ball The Final Chapters
4) Dragon Ball Super movie 1
5) Dragon Ball Super movie 2
6) Dragon Ball Super

Well I guess just watching Kai -> DB Super Movie 1, 2 -> startin Super in the mid-30 episodes isn't so bad.
But seriously consider reading the DB manga, or at least spending 10 minutes to search the internet for the fan recut of Dragon Ball.

well whether you watch DB or not is a personal choice.... I GUESS. If it were up to me you absolutely should read the DB manga then watch Kai. The manga can be read in full in a week at your leisure.
EITHER WAY
Do not watch the original funimation dub of Z. Make sure you watch Kai
I think I'll read the manga soon.
I think I'll read the manga soon.
I don't like reading, especially if the art isn't colored and sharp.
I'm gonna give the Dragon Ball pilot a chance now.

There's a full color edition of the manga.
.Guys, for newcomers, in 2017 ...
Come on, he wants to know what DBZ is about.
Should he go through 153 episodes with robot fillers and the "puff puff" 80s anime scenes, or just watch the recap in Kai to get started ?
If he likes Kai up to the cell saga, he can discover the origins of Dragon Ball later on.
It's not like knowing what Yamcha did is "vital".
I suggested to him to watch some of the movies that are not canon to get the "feel" of the old school shows and see who the characters are.
I think it's the best.
I'm saying this because I tried getting some friends into it, and it didn't go well. While the ones that weren't put off and decided to read the manga ended up loving it.
But only the Z portion is colored?
