was checking again the Cell fight, and man, Goku is out of character there

not only he pushes his son into a fight he doesn't want to be, he also urges Gohan to finish off Cell...I guess he may have learned the lesson after Freeza, but still sounds wrong

I went from Goku 's wedding in DB to Z.

Wow this version is pretty good,is it in Portuguese?

I love how no matter the language, Cha-La always sounds like a fucking anthem to everything that is awesome.

I grew up with the Spanish Latin version,

Fun fact: The first kiss I gave to my now SO was during a live performance of that version.

Yeah, that is the Brazilian Portuguese version!

I might be biased, but I can't really think of a single bad Brazilian version of Dragon Ball's songs.

CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA is a classic, but I have a really soft spot for the Brazilian Portuguese version of GT OP1.

One thing I liked about the last few NEP's is when another character besides Goku cuts into the NEP. Like Gohan did in 90, and Frieza did in 95's.

Whoever says DBZ is superior to Kai somehow forgot freezas five minutes.

Frieza's 5 minutes bullshit is bullshit no matter how you watch it. Kai makes it better, but it's still ridiculous.

OG DBZ still the greatest, a rare case when the fillers actually add to the plot. And it has the car licence episode, the greatest filler of them all.
How is this even debatable which is better?

I haven't looked at Kai since I saw the first few episodes subbed years ago where they horribly cropped it to make the show wide screen but I saw that was only done for the Japanese broadcast?

I think the baseball episode is overrated tbh. I feel like it's so high regarded because of it's concept, but It's execution was lacking overall.

There are various "inbetweens" in Super that are better.

The best version of the baseball episode isn't even out yet.
The dub of that episode is the episode I'm looking forward to being dubbed the most.

Ohhh maybe the dub will change things.

Though the dub already made great inbetweens in Super even better, so the rankings will probably me largely the same for me.

I think I prefer OG DBZ over DB Kai..but thats Nostalgia I guess, cause back in the day after seeing DB like 4 times already...people in german caught the rumor there is more Dragon Ball!

And then they started airing two episodes every evening from Monday-Friday at 7pm...which added up to over half a year of new episodes every day...man those were awesome times, without widespread internet we only knew about some stuff due to weird SNES games which were in french, so we didnt really understand them..why is Goku Blond, who is the little guy? Whats happening :D

Good old days

The Best times. I remember how the streets were devoid of any children at 7pm because everyone ran home to watch DBZ

OG DBZ is meant to be savored week to week.

Binging it is a living hell. Imagine binging a soap opera. Bunch of regurgitating things we know with a bunch of slow pans to heighten melodrama.

Kai is kind of cool as an abridged thing, but it lacks the cinematic atmosphere at times. It doesn't let things simmer enough. And the Nickelodeon colors don't look good.

I'm pretty sure the first episode I watched was a subbed episode from the beginning of the Babidi arc. I'm pretty sure it was the Yakon Vs. Goku one.

I was in middle school and we had hacked satellite. At night the Action Channel basically turned into the Anime channel and that is where I came across it. I wasn't supposed to stay up that late so I would turn the volume down and sit really close to the TV.

It was probably the most mainstream show they broadcasted. It also introduced me to great anime like Tekkaman, Guyver, and Blue Seed.
Oh, and one of my all time favorites: Bubblegum Crisis.

If you do, visit the Dragon Ball Super OT and read the recommendations on how to catch up.

The beginning of the new series were beyond awful, so it put off a lot of people.

It eventually got better to the point where now it's really really good.

Came here after reading this in the FighterZ thread (wich looks fuckin incredible)

Last DB thing i watched was GT back in the day, can i start Super right away? anything i'm missing or should i skip? totally lost so bear with me a bit

_

Also, i tried starting the first episode of Super a few seconds ago, and it starts with a recap (?) of Krilin and Goku sparring and then going lookin for an erb? I'm confused af, where is this stuff from?

I think that's like an episode in the 60s.

I was ready to cry if they had a scene with Goku remembering Grandpa Gohan.

Like, I'm a grown ass man.

I was fully prepared to bawl.

I didn't catch the reference so unfortunately I was let down but then picked back up by the great scene with Freeza's return.

The episode you saw was 76 or 77.

Goku Vs Hit on episode 72.

I think we got a taste of what's coming. It's pretty obvious Goku has a secret technique. I'm interested to see how Hit will perform in the ToP.

I know the track that played in that video but don't really have a connection to it like that so I'm not really feelin it. If anything I'd get Kai's soundtrack.

I don't really have a big attachment to any soundtrack I've heard in the DB series. Not to say they're bad, but just that the soundtrack used isn't important to me.

I'm not sure if Daisuke Ishiwatari is working on DBF, it's hard to tell from one incomplete song in the trailer, but I'm certainly interested to see what their take on it here is.

We got the versions with the OG music (the one playing) since day 1, so that track (and others) have a big impact on my nostalgia :P

Honestly, I'd rather just get something new than hearing the same music that's been used for years.

Arc Systems does some great work, and I can't wait to hear what they come up with.

Arcsys gives us some of the finest rock and metal to grace video games, if they're working on the soundtrack, especially if Daisuke is working on the soundtrack, then we are in good hands. However, no matter how good it is, it's not going to be to everyone's tastes, so it's not unreasonable for some to want the classic tracks.

Still, we don't know who is handling the soundtrack, could be Arcsys, or it could be Bandai Namco. I wonder how much freedom Arcsys has on this project.
