Shooting at GOP baseball practice, multiple injured incl/ Maj. Whip Scalise

In a lot of districts that simply doesn't work anymore. The system is rigged and people are starting to lash out. They will continue to lash out more as Trump's presidency continues.

This is nonsense. A +2% turnout in most districts is enough to shatter the gerrymandering and send a majority wave to Congress. Not in every district, but don't again and again and you chip away. You have power during redistricting and the census as well.

But you need to convince that 2% to show up. Is political violence between the right and left going to do that? Recent history says no. Civil Rights for example was passed as a backlash against horrible right wing violence.

Man I didn't need to see this waking up. This one incident will make the right-wing say 'So much for the tolerant left' but still ignore the gun control issue. Trump speaking about this is the worst. 2018 can't come any sooner. I'm just glad no one died.

We need to stop framing everything from the right wing. They don't need this to say that. That have been saying that long before this, and they will say it long after. Stop framing things from the right

Democrats are getting blamed... SHOCKING!

Rep. Chris Collins (R-NY) on Wednesday linked the political rhetoric of Democrats to the shooting of Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.) and others at a baseball field in Alexandria, Va.

"I can only hope that the Democrats do tone down the rhetoric," Collins told WBEN. "The rhetoric has been outrageous ... the finger-pointing, just the tone and the angst and the anger directed at Donald Trump, his supporters."
Really? After the last 8 years?
Fucking lying little shits.

I will tone down nothing.
This as well.

I've always maintained that extremists on the Left (my "side", I guess) bother me far more than extremists on the Right, mostly because they muddy our waters more than extremists on the other side do.

Yea you got a point. An extremist alt right nationalist stabbing 2 muslims and killing them doesn't muddy the water at all. Just business it's the usual and that's ok because it's conservatives and it's what we expect.

"Oh you scamps, at it again"

lol, goddamn the ignorance.

This is a very disturbing thread, and not only because of the history revisionist undertones set by comparing US politicians to Heydrich and the likes. Hell, people. I get that you don't feel sympathy for asshole politicians, but please don't maginalize the fucking holocaust and the NAZI death machine for this.

Read a goodamn history book. Your ruling class at the moment might be the worst in any western country baring Poland, but fuck it. Look at the simple anihilation of jewish people, of gay people, of sinti and roma, of political opponents, of simple folks that made a simple joke about the Führer. You can go out and joke about Trump, hell, you can VOTE his cronies out soon, you are NOT rounded up and put into camps and you are not being experimented on and burned alive and gassed and dismembered at the leisure of Trump.

For heavens sake, just go vote and protest and strengthen your local communities and get involved. Don't marginalize the horrific death of millions in your internet rage.

I agree with part of this. We have a great deal more protections in the way of someone going full on Hitler. We can nip this all in the bud by getting a relatively small number of people to join in voting against the GOP.

At the same time, we can't forget that Trump was likely compromised by someone who is involved in some very Hitler-like actions in Russia. Non cis people have been rounded up, tortured, and murdered. Putin's military is also directly and openly fighting for someone who is burning people en-mass in furnaces. Comparing Trump and some of his supporters like this guy to Hitler allies isn't far off.

Remembering Hitler should be motivation to not allow things to get to genocidal levels, not something to shut down and deflect discussion.

Dude on ABC blaming the media smh

I can't watch so I don't know exactly what is being said, but there is a lot of poisonous and toxic media out there, and even the "main stream" stuff like cable news isn't great when it comes to sensationalising shootings like this. It's gererally accepted that wall-to-wall coverage of mass-shooting attempts like this causes copycats. Media does share responsibilty for creating the climate we are in.

Lol... how myopic can you get? You spent the last 8 years doing exactly so and for no good reason other than opposition!

Seemed fine, we were having a home inspected back in 2014 that we ended up passing on.

I know that's a limited interaction but to me it seems he wasn't a 24/7 raving lunatic as I'm sure some are imagining. Probably just a fairly normal and harmless guy who blamed a multitude of problems in his life on government and then eventually lost it.

Reminds me of Sam Bic, the guy who tried to hijack a plane so he could kill Nixon.

Every right wing shooter is "disturbed" and "acted alone." Every leftist or Muslim exemplifies an entire population.

People shouldn't tone down shit. If anything it needs to be cranked up.

See, the problem here is some Shakespeare play (that I'm just now hearing about), and not the ability to purchase a high-capacity murder weapon at the snap of your fingers, of sane mind or not.

I think I will stop watching the news for at least a few days. It's gonna get real gross real fast and I'm just so tired of the brazen hypocrisy.

trump and repub strategy right now is to try to pin down this shooting on a democrat in politics, hell even clinton by some abstract thought process.

I want them to pass the AHCA, just so they kill 20% of the trump base by 2019. I want to see the marches on the captial, fuck everything about modern GoP and repussia traitors.

Trump supporters won't be the only ones to die there. There's no reason to wish that.

Goddamnit, this idiot was exactly what the GOP needed right now. I fully expect the right wing to go ballistic over him and the Democrats to try and both steer away focus from the Trump-Russia investigation and the ACHA.

I'm not really expecting it right now, but the best thing anyone could do to counter this mess would be another string of oppo reports over the next several days. Redirect focus back to Trump, Sessions, Manafort, Flynn or anyone tied to Russia.

Also, Bernie needs to get out there and condemn this asshole's actions. Dems should not let up on their aggression towards the GOP and Trump, but Bernie needs to shut down the Blame Game ASAP.

didn't take long for the GOP to turn this into a partisan issue in record time,

that means we can be partisan too and blame all lax gun laws on the GOP

Critical Race Theory's emphasis on the personal, the anecdotal, the narrative over the rattional, the objective, the factual is its weakest aspect.

When misused, as in your posts, its an enemy to critical thought.

LOL. Yes, because critical race theory doesn't have any basis in empirical evidence. Institutional violence is never something that can be studied, identified, and quantified. It's merely the musings of anecdotal colored people thinking that our lived experiences are the exception and not the rule.

I just pray this doesn't turn around and spur Crazy Right-Wing militia types and gun hoarders to get "revenge".

It still amazes me everyday Americans can buy assault rifles, especially knowing how toxic, volatile and unstable people can get these days.

No, its actually very normal. The Sunni and Shia situation is a similar parallel, where because they are so similar, the differences between them become much more decisive causing huge strifes between the groups.
That's a religious split where both sides think they are the only ones that should exist on the planet. Literally hundreds of thousands (upwards of a million likely) of people have died because of the Shia/Sunni split.

No, it's not comparable to Dems vs Repubs/Left vs Right wing in the US. Get out of here with this absolute fucking nonsense.

Last I checked it was republicans that kept talking about taking up arms to stop government overreach.

Fucking nonsense. Right wing extremists shot Gabby Giffords and killed a bunch of other people in that shooting and the recent abortion clinic shooting, among others.
My point wasn't about who does more damage directly (obviously they do), but about getting in the way of our own progress.

That is their fault for not being rational. It doesn't matter what events transpire, they have proven to be assholes who don't give a shit.

I wrote that its the weakest aspect of CRT, not the only component of CRT.

Respond to what's written, please.

Yeah totally bro

GOP: Healthcare is a service, can't pay for it fuck you and die. Funding tax cuts for 1% is more important

Democrats: Healthcare is a right, lets try and get as many people covered as possible
