I can't believe I have to do this, but to be BOTTOM OF THE BARREL fair to Trump, that's a December tweet from before the FBI made the same conclusion as the IC.
But I'm sure that within the next few weeks Trump will post another tweet where he yet again claims the Russia stuff is fake news.

Well I hope Tsar Putitin release the tape now that his boy has completely failed his mission.
If the tape exists, it's not in Putin's interest anymore to release it. If it was released, everyone would know where it came from. Not to mention that the U.S. being led by an embarrassingly incompetent leader is victory enough.

Wow, was scared it was going to be the opposite when I saw the thread title and thought the sanctions were going to be lifted for a second there. In any case, going to be interesting to see if Trump actually vetoes it or not.

I think Putitin has a sense of humor.
It would humilate US citizens with very poor decision making skills when it comes to politics, which might prod them into either not voting or thinking about their votes, which in turn would lead to better leadership that is very much opposed to Russia.

Why does Putin care about US leadership? He will be king of the Russia until his death and Russia sanction will stay regardless.

What if they oppose re-enacting the sanctions on Iran like Bernie Sanders, Dianne Feinstein, Kirsten Gillibrand, Dick Durbin, Tom Carper, Rand Paul, Jeff Merkley, and Tom Udall? And potentially Chris Murphy? (Who except for the latter voted against the resolution last week.)

Give him time, he's still new to this and learning.
A lot of us are celebrating this for political reasons but the reality is that this is more harmful to the world than for example the Blitz. The lack of explosive violence helps it slip under the radar but Trump supporters are either willing or stupid collaborators. There's no other constituency.

We already know there's one thing coming up that everyone's been forgetting: I'm pretty sure Russia haven't expelled US diplomats/spies after Obama expelled theirs. Correct me if I'm wrong but Putin delayed that one and it's probably not going anywhere if they get their installations and such back like Trump has been pushing for. So there's that at least.

Folks like him might be spineless and fall in line when it comes to protecting the GOP's interests, but there's no benefit to the GOP refusing to punish Russia for their actions in 2016, so they're all for it. There's no reasonable way to refuse to impose these sanctions.
It's the "uncovering that Trump's campaign was complicit in it" part they are trying to hinder.
