I refuse to accept that .hack has more fans than Xenosaga.
Also, where the FUCK is Link? Port that game.
I'm a Xeno fan like you. .Hack is a lot more popular.

the whole point of the remaster is that they are rebooting .hack series to move forward.
Best way to sell? I wouldn't mind offloading my copies.Nah you can get atleast $100 each for the last 2 since they are so hard to find. I actually have all 7 games.
Put it on Switch and rework it to tie into Xenoblade X. Call it Xenoblade X Origins: Xenosaga.
I don't have to accept facts.
Also, the .hack mobile game was really good too.

Let this do well so we can get a new .hack PS4 trilogy!
Ah man can you imagine? CC2's recent anime-looking game engines would be awesome for a new .hack.

First look at a new form?
Bring it over and I'm in. I'm a .hack superfan.
I do wish it would have been the original games that were remade first tho.
Me too, but I guess GU is much more popular. Maybe if this does well they can justify remakes for the first 4 games.
It's probably more due to the fact that the original games would need a overhaul in some departments, such as the battle system.

Yeah, I played through the original despite the combat and in G.U. it was something I didn't feel really dragged it down so much.
While I also played the original and even finished it, I wouldn't say that the battle system was particularly any good. With all those invincibilities and super basic combat, I wouldn't even say that it was fun and more of a necessary evil thing.
Which is also the reason why I vastly prefer G.U..
But if they were to remake the OG 4 like vanillaware with Odin Sphere, then I would be absolutely hyped.
So did any .hack fans in the thread keep up with Guilty Dragon or New World? How was the story in those? Any plot connections to the main series?
I just realized something. This is getting an actual PC release in Japan right? Which would mean that it has to have Japanese sound files, which means that if a potential localized version is dub-only, an undub patch would be possible. Right?
Hoping this "reboot" thing is a mis-understanding/translation. I'm taking it as "relaunching" the series.
Cause a reboot'd be awful an grounds for giving up on the series imo. Part of the series appeal to me was its constant ongoing story as the years passed by in real life from 2001 to 2017 (first chapter of the LotT manga to final chapters of the Bullet novel) and in-universe from 2007 to 2032 (fragment to New World). There have been some minor inconsistancies (animation errors and such) but overall its been a super solid canon.
Chopping off everything post-G.U. Vol.3 means no G.U. Returner, Peaco's Story, G.U. Trilogy, Epitaph of Twilight, Link, Quantum Introduction, Quantum, Bullet, The Movie, Versus, Thanatos Report, Guilty Dragon, and New World. That's a ton of good stuff people seem eager ta toss out because??
Wha? Then why not go back to the start? Wouldn't G.U. be considered just expanded universe stuff from IMOQ? 3rd Season stuff was far more important to the overall series plot than G.U. was by a wide margin.Because they want to appeal to a younger generation. All that post GU stuff is expanded universe stuff, and kids these days have no respect for the classics, let alone spend an hour or two exposing themselves to source material, if it's not accepted by mainstream pop culture.
I'm still pretty much in the dark about SAO stuff so I dunno what ta worry over in that regard!Personally I just don't want to see them turn >hack into something that suppose to complete with Sword Art Online by mirroring it tit for tat.
We'll see how this all plays out though, for better or worse.

I hope we get news about localization soon.
They did have a story they wanted ta tell past G.U. and they have done so!Plus, if they have a story they wish to tell post-G.U. then it gets in the way of their freedom.
G.U. has real dumb stuff right from the start an all the way up to the end!Plus some of the later stuff like Link just made things dumb.
I'm guessing it's harder to make IMOQ's art direction look good today with just a remaster.
;_; I dun care what ya all say, IMOQ's art direction is still amazing and its combat is way more fun than G.U.'s!I think a lot of it has to do with having to redo the combat system in IMOQ. That shit was clunky and aged poorly 10 years ago.
probably
it sounds like there will be a "volume 4" type of post game, that would be dope
Is there any good summary of what happened in these two games? And is it canon in any way?Chopping off everything post-G.U. Vol.3 means no G.U. Returner, Peaco's Story, G.U. I'd really like ta know more about these two games an their stories myself. From what I understand reading bits & pieces of stuff by other people, New World carries on from Guilty Dragon so those two should be canon to one another. An I haven't read anything saying GD isn't canon to the rest of the series. They haven't done any other story in the 2030-2032 period which says those games don't count so I'd just assume that they do! The person/people translating Link are working on GD & NW scripts but Link is priority as its so soooo much closer ta being finished. Is there any good summary of what happened in these two games? I played through Infection not too long ago in PCSX2 and I still love that game. I can see why some people didn't like the original series, but I really wish they would have started there (maybe remove the goblin chasing).
I saw it in a cinema and aside from the story being aboutAnyone still remember that CGi movie set after GU with female Kite?
I didn't know they were still working on it. I played it with the gameplay patch and then watched the "movie" version they put out on YouTube. I hope everything from Link is going to be erased from the canon if they decided to continue the series on the PS4.
That game...
I really disliked it - the story, most new characters, and simplified, repetitive gameplay. Was link really that bad?
