I wonder if this week's episode will have an updated intro now. Or will that only happen when the tournament starts (if at all, even)?

Goku was more interesting in the original series.

I don't agree. I think I've always found Goku to be less interesting than his supporting cast. It's especially bad in the Saiyan and Namik sagas, where his role is pretty much just to show up later on to save everyone when they're dealing with a fight they can't win(Cell saga acts like it's going to do the same, but then swerves and gives the win to Gohan, one of the many reasons it's my favorite arc in the series).

I'm finding Super exaggerating his destructive carelessness to be more interesting. He's shown plenty of signs of it before but nothing really came from it and he was always just reacting to things going on around him, however now he is partially responsible for the current problem and possibly going to make things worse by bringing back Frieza of all people, and several characters keep calling him out on it. This has easily been his most interesting development for me. We can tell he still cares about his friends and family, but the selfish Saiyan who just wants a good fight that Toriyama's interviews always paint him as is finally being acknowledged and I actually want to see where they take Goku's character for once.

I read someones predictions on how the official spoilers could match up to the (def fake) 2ch leaks:

Beerus sends Freeza as a double agent, and then they fill up the final spot with your boy.

Obviously thats highly unlikely.

Regarding
Beerus plan, I'm wondering what it'll be?

I just finished the Zamasu "arc" (or set of episodes).

God damn do I love zenoh. The Zamasu thing started off interesting but slowly felt drawn out.

I didn't care for it towards the end either and just stopped caring as I went through the episodes.

And no mention of defection in the 96 preview, the Jump previews don't leave out big details like that.
Can people FINALLY stop acting like there is a chance that the obviously fake leak from last week can still be real?

EDIT: Freeza's art has been added to the files of the front page of the official site for the poster (In addition to having been sitting on in the files of the U7 team page since March), so he's probably going to be added to it after this week's episode.

To be fair none of the 66 stuff mentioned Vegetto at all.

Yo arched, I can't tolerate this fuckery.

You need a DB avatar.

I'll settle for this.

So the manga should finally wrap up the Zamasu arc in this month's issue, right? Though honestly, I can see it going for one more issue lol.

I think it might last one more issue if there's some kind of twist and Trunks still ends up finishing everything (before Zen'o comes, at least). If it really ends with Goku though, then it should end this month.

I initially thought the leaks were obviously fake, but after reading that reddit post, I'm leaning more towards them being real. The episode names don't match, but the description of events seem to be matching up fairly well.

I guess we'll see. They're being intentionally vague and the last time that happened was the beginning and end of the Future Trunks arc.

They guessed that Freeza would have a two parter and that the tournament would start on 97 and that's it. The descriptions of 95 and 96 are different from what we know is happening.

Toshio wrote episode 99 and he said he wrote it about 3 or 4 months ago, meaning there was a gap of 4-5 months from script to broadcast, that's actually really great news for the state of the production.

Fuuuuuck

I think we're going to get the sickest 3 episodes in a row the show ever had .

Might even explain why we got so much down time and "filler".

I've been saying the recruitment arc was probably really long for production purposes.
This definitely increases the chances of us seeing some high profile animators on the tournament.

But the arc wasn't really lacking production wise. Most episodes looked and had nice animation and choreographer, some of them are easily among the best in the show. Super has never been as consistent as it was in the recruitment arc.

Regarding the tournament, I'm hoping for 15 episodes minimum.

Sounds like great news.

I hope they keep it up for future arcs, the downtime is great for showing off the side characters.

I agree with this, and I hope it's true. The pre-production probably started some time before the U6-U7 tournament since that's when Zeno appeared announcing it.

They made the production much better overall.

But what the 4 months production of episodes implies is that they might have gotten freelancers to help out and handle the sickest part. (on top of regular ones polishing their work)

There's no way in hell the tournament lasts more than 5 episodes. But we'll probably get more stuff afterwards.

A little bit of an explanation for those that don't know how these things work.
You're average anime episode made on a good production schedule has around 12 weeks of animation time with the ability to go up as high as 16 weeks for important episodes, shows with amazing schedules have their episodes average more around 16 weeks and can go up as high as 20 weeks.
This news from Toshio lets us know that Super episodes going forward could range from 11 to 15 weeks from the storyboard being completed to airing, that's great news! I imagine most episodes will be on the lower end of that, and some will probably dip down to 10 or even 9 weeks, but in general episodes are going to have a lot more time in the oven and big episodes being able to potentially have over 12 weeks for animation will be huge for the series.
Now it's all about making sure that they can secure the needed animators, and with the larger time between storyboard to airing that shouldn't be nearly as hard as it has been in the past.

Sounds great. The tournament should be sick.

I don't see why are you expecting 5 episodes max, though.

The final Goku vs. Jiren battle should be 2-3 episodes by itself. We know also that there's a Vegeta vs. Brianne one-on-one fight. There's the Freeza drama, the new Saiyans, the robots universe, Toppo and the rest of the Pride Troopers, Kale's new mastered transformation, a probable fight between Hit and Jiren, a teased new form for Gohan, etc.

Tons of teased material to work with. This tournament will be long.
