I don't understand rings of power. Is there a button to speed up? just can't get the damn relic and I'm always the 4th.

Haven't done it yet and might be misremembering, but I think you get a boost when you spin as you pass through a ring.

Crash 2 feels sooo much better than Crash 1, maybe it's placebo but the controls feel a bit better and more precise as well

Also, the slide+jump+spin is a completely game changer

Got all the coloured gems now. Surprisingly it was The Lab that was the most trouble for me but Slippery Climb and Toxic Waste were the most intense when nearing the end.

I seriously don't understand why there is depth in the side scrolling levels. I just died on box 82/83 on the temple level because Coco got stuck on a bit of background geometry.

are there like 2 super secret levels that I'm missing?

I've NEVER known how to do this but figure now is the time to ask. It's still clear/"greyed out" for me so I can't get the gem for that level.

Just finished Crash 1. What a blast! Loved very minute of it. Really brought back my childhood.

Now on to my favorite, Crash 2

Got this a few hours ago. Took longer due to some distractions, but I actually have a much greater appreciation for Crash 1 now that I've really taken my time with it. Rough and tough game with plenty of warts, but I enjoyed it. Relic runs on the other 20 levels will be fun (and maddening), I look forward to doing those later.

But next I'll be moving on to THE BEST CRASH PLATFORMER IN THE TRILOGY, MUTHAFUCKIN CRASH 2

The high road is the most piece of shit level ever. Lost about 25 lives to it. Defintelt not even contemplating getting gems or relics on it. Fuck you.

I was the same, tried to beat that level until 4am yesterday until I dropped out incredibly frustrated. I slept on it, woke up and the first thing I did before even coffee was fire up Crash (thank God for sleep mode). Beat the level on my 2nd try!! I couldn't believe it.

When I think of Crash 1 I always think of struggling with those bouncy barrels on Toxic Waste as a kid, didn't even get me once this time, easy colored gem.

On Lights Out, no matter what I do the light from Aku Aku always disappears at the last section just as I jump into the area with the rats before the pendulum blades, don't remember that, am I being too slow or something?
