New SFV Datamined Information...Arcade Mode maybe found?

I don't get a lot of the speculation regarding Arcade mode. When an arcade version of SFV was announced, it seemed obvious to me that we would see Arcade mode at home around the time of that arcade version's release. No sooner, no later.

It'll probably have a couple minor cutscene flourishes and unique UI screens to it that would have been more phoned-in if it were only ever a home version add-on, but that also means it's coming way later than anybody wanted.

How do you say it's not promotional art when it's got the MvC:I logo front and center? lol. It's a variant cover to promote the new Marvel game coming out.

Eh, I guess it counts? I just don't consider variant covers particularly good promo. I'm being dumb, I guess.

Now if only the cover looked like that...

I'm sorry for the Drive-by Hot Take, I was just here to read the news, but...

This thread is already dead?

QUICK SOMEBODY SHIT ON CAPCOM!

SFV IS SHIT

IT WAS INCOMPLETE GARBAGE

EVERY FIGHTING GAME SHOULD COME WITH 62 CHARACTERS, 91 STAGES, 17.8 MODES, AND PAY HALF OF OF MY MORTGAGE

How quickly we forget and excuse what a sorry state the game was in when it launched. Yeah, those people who expected something at least resembling a completed game sure are whiners, huh? I mean, Capcom got there eventually. After months of post-release patches. Including one that secretly injected a rootkit into PCs.

Gosh, buyers just have unreasonable expectations, don't they?

There, you got that bump you were hoping for.

They should relaunch with all this stuff, including all season 1 + season 2 content, with a bunch of already released costumes and stages included (all available on a disc as well). Get a new review cycle going to come back into the casual spotlight.

Ideally with a season 3 character release being imminent.

Of course, it's still the SFV the previous purchasers already have and their game will be updated with the new revisions and modes for free (not the characters, costumes, stages). But including enough DLC content in the package may get existing owners to double dip just because of the value.

I don't think it's good promo. I think it's a cool idea for marvel to leverage their marketing strengths in this manner, but it should be in conjunction with trailers and information dumps. This reveal feels like, "Welp, the cover comes out tomorrow, so we should just confirm they're actually in the game."

How quickly indeed. Why, it's only been a year and a half! How could my passions not remain continually stirred for this game that launched badly 18 months ago and that I could have easily avoided buying?

I wake up angry every day because I just can't stop thinking about SFV even though I don't want to play it and think it's a bad product.

Ono said that SFV has like a ten year plan. Considering how each SF iteration evolves over time, I do expect SFV to change dramatically at some point. I expect Season 3 to be the game changer.

As for this leak, it looks legit. If Capcom didn't suck at communication we wouldn't need to build up hope with some random rumors.

Ten year? I remember reading that they had support planned for the game till 2020.

Let me preface this by saying.. i'm not an X-kira fan, I think he made a lot of stuff up, or manipulated data... however... in this instance his arcade mode find was real.

If you use process explorer (microsoft tool) whilst the game is running, then change to the 'strings' tab for the process, then select memory you will see all 'strings' in memory. if you export that to a text file, you can search for the word 'arcade'

I was able to find the following strings (which X-Kira found)

BattleArcadeModeUnit
KWArcadeModeCharaRewardData
mKWArcadeModeCpuDifficultyData
KWArcadeCpuDifficultyChangeValueData
KWArcadeCpuWinTypeValueData
KWArcadeBattleOptionScoreValueData
AWSRankingArcadeModeMenuGFxPlayer
KWArcadeContinueCpuDifficultyChangeData
AWSRankingArcadeModeMenuGFxPlayer
KWArcadeNoticeScoreValueData
KWArcadeBattleOptionScoreValueData
KWArcadeBattleFinishTypeScoreValueData
AWSGalleryArcadeEndingGFxPlayer
KWArcadeModeBonusBarrelShotData

there are loads more.. but multiple references to 'Arcade' :)

Even if it's true, it's waaaaay to late. "Casuals" already chose Injustice 2 or Tekken 7. "Pros" don't really need it, practice mode and PvP is all that matters anyway.

Casuals chose those games because they had single player content. When SFV does too, why wouldn't people who like SF play it at that point? People don't buy Tekken and then say welp I can't own any other fighting games. SFV is the only current game that plays like SF, and people like SF. It's not too late for anything.

If they relaunch the game in some way, with a new retail release and the added features, it probably has a shot. Free update for existing owners? Sure.

Usually folks dont have to look this hard and long to find a hint of an arcade mode existing in a fighting game. Yeesh.

X-Kira also leaked the season 2 trials, and a lot of people thought he somehow made those up.

Yeah true. So is it X-Kira making shit up at times or is it Capcom changing development on stuff? I see earlier in the topic that X-Kira has trolled a few times but on what specifically? Haven't really followed earlier "leaks"

Maybe a bit of both. X-Kira has had some bullshit thrown in from time-to-time, but he has gotten some stuff right (Dubai stage, Vega's Spain stage, Abigail's Metro City stage, Vol. 2 Trials & Demonstrations, the Sports costumes, etc.).

I am hyped for Arcade Mode. I feel like it's necessary for every fighting game.

So those saying it's "too late" are out of their mind.
Too late to add new content to the most popular game in the FGC. Too late to cater to the casuals (and hardcore alike) that are waiting for Arcade mode. It's too late for me. New content was a mistake.

Well then, awesome. I guess X-Kira may be on to something this time.
I think he was always on to something, to be fair. I can't really say it's his fault that Capcom sometimes takes so long that one can easily assume it wasn't really coming.

Yeah, man. This game you were never going to play anyway STILL doesn't have the arcade mode you didn't want to play.

As a matter of fact I'm a casual fighting games player; Arcade modes, Story modes, Time attack, etc., are more important to me than playing online. And even if that wasn't true, the whole "SFV doesn't even have an arcade mode" news and criticisms where so loud and recently I've seen people talking about how SFV is "no longer a bad game" here on GAF that I thought Capcom had added it already.

You can get as defensive as you want, but it really is a surprise that Capcom hasn't added the most basic mode all fighting games used to have.

It still baffles the mind that there is still no arcade mode for this game. At least if there were, I would have hung onto the game so that I could enjoy playing through the game with each character. Here though, I wonder what sole reason there is for there to not be an arcade mode.

Is it because there's no final boss? Hell, if that were the case, why not Bison? Just put him in at the end and call it a day.

I also stand by the "Too little too late" since it feels like any implication of an Arcade mode at this point would be redundant. Would be nice to have one at long last, but then it really does make you wonder why SF5 left out the most basic mode in fighting games.

Arcade and Versus usually go hand in hand, or at least having an option of fighting a CPU in a straight out match with no additional gimmicks.

So are you going to buy it when they add arcade mode and you can get the base game plus the first two season passes for 40-50 bucks?

Man, it'd really be something if Arcade mode offered up fight money to grind. Like not a one-time thing like Survival, I mean like 50-100 FM per clear.

Based on rumblings from guys like Bornfree, the reason they're sitting on it is because they're trying to make it some crazy nostalgic Super Turbo Arcade mode for the 30th. Hence explaining why we've been getting so many SFII stages (particularly the bosses). Sagat and his stage coming out in December would be the final piece of the puzzle.

if it's Street Fighter anniversary then they should try to revive Alpha, SF3 and SF4 stages. Gimme me Africa (Savannah) stage pls.

lol, props for fighting the good fight here and responding to people who say "it's too late."
Shit makes no sense.

Sound like more of a grind than playing casuals, unless you literally can't win a match. People would definitely complain even though it's providing an ongoing single player revenue stream, which of course people want.

I am sure there will be something off about it for people to latch on to and hate...like everything else Capcom has done this gen

The interesting thing to here to me is that some of the text seems to hint this "arcade mode" being integrated into CFN for online rankings or leaderboards or scoring.

It would be worth the wait of the arcade mode was a series of courses designed for competition, or was in some way dynamic. It could also be tied into fight money challenges.

Not for 2P. It didn't works for me and some guys when we were in battle lounge.

Oh, wow. My mistake.

Anyways, I won't believe Arcade Mode until they actually announce it and put it out. Given that it took them A YEAR to release legacy costumes for Alex and Ibuki (and Juri), I would expect no less than 18 months for Arcade Mode to become a reality at this point.

So are you going to buy it when they add arcade mode and you can get the base game plus the first two season passes for 40-50 bucks?

Probably... is that so difficult to believe?

When some publishers release an incomplete edition of a game with day one DLC, etc., I tend to avoid them. And when the original game + season pass is sold cheaper I get them either digital or even physical. I do that because my backlog allows me to wait without having the urge to play the new hot thing, I waited more than a year to get Arkham Knight for a price I thought was fair, the same happened with one of my favourite games of the previous gen: Dragon's Dogma, just to name a few of those.

A few weeks ago I read the news Capcom is still adding new characters to SFV's roster so -to me at least- the game doesn't feel complete, and now I get to know that Arcade mode isn't even part of the game yet...

As I said: I don't feel the need to buy the game just yet, but apparently some people feel they need to bash my opinion for some reason.

Every single Street Fighter series since SFII has spent literal years adding characters to the roster.

Two new characters just got added to Street Fighter II in 2017.

If this is what you require for a fighting game to be complete, you should probably check back in 2020.

They're adding characters until at least 2020, so it'll be incomplete to you for a while.

Let's not be overly negative here though: I've bought Killer Instinct Seasons 1 and 2 when they were pretty cheap. I'm waiting for the right moment to jump in with the third season, and it's the same for SFV.

I kind of find both hilarious and sad that some people feel the need to even question my buying habits in this thread.

As a casual FG player I've skipped entire revisions of games because I certainly cannot buy everything or for other reasons, I skipped GG XRD and got the next one, the same for P4 Arena, I didn't play the first MVC3, neither did I play SC IV nor SFIV, I haven't played a Mortal Kombat in years. My favourite 2D fighting game for example is SFIII 3rd Strike, and I haven't played the other two versions of it at all.

You can keep trying to... well, I don't even know what you are trying to do here tbh. All I said was I was surprised that SFV arcade mode is still missing.

I don't think anyone here was bashing your opinion. But it kinda seems like you're complaining that they're adding new characters and new modes.

No disbelief here. However you say you're going to wait until the game is complete which means you won't be buying until 2020 or 2021 if Capcom's statements are to be believed.

Edit: I did not need to make this post.
