Dumbest scene in TV History?

Worse final episode: Dexter or HIMYM?

I think I'd have to go with Dexter.

With HIMYM, yeah the ending was stupid, but there wasn't a whole lot expected of it at that point. The show was its own silly joke that had gone on too long, and at the very least it did establish the answer to the name of the show. So the ending was bad, but I don't think it was a detour from the rest of the show.

Dexter... sigh. Dexter was like getting kicked in the groin right as you're about to climax. I mean, if they had just left out everything after he sets off on the boat at the end, it would have been fine. Good? No, Dexter's final season was bad, and it'd been going downhill since the end of 4 and delivered so many bad scenes. But had the ending wanted a clear resolution and delivered what it should have
namely, Dexter dying or being caught as justice for his crimes and all the lives he's ruined, especially Deb's, whose corpse he frickin wheeled out of the hospital
then at least that ending would have wrapped up the show in a way that fit.

For both an awful scene and an awful finale, I'd go with the end to Sons of Anarchy. The super dramatic end to a long running series biker gang show should not elicit a howl of laughter from me. Video title itself is a spoiler, if you care: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKXFJIB3YQM

Edit: For bonus on that SoA scene, rewatching it I'm now noticing how the number of lanes on that definitely-not-actually-the-interstate-highway changes like 3 times. Quality editing, there.

I don't know if it was worse than this, but another procedural show (can't remember which one) had an incredibly stupid episode where some Columbine-inspired teen or something had hidden an important piece of evidence on his Xbox hard drive and the team had to beat the game to unlock the document. None of them can do it until they turn to see one of the girls on the team watching intently from the doorway and mimicking controller motions with her hand, so they let her try and she burns through it until she unlocks a door in the game that reveals a literal picture of the document they need.
I hate to say this but I'm pretty sure something similar happened in an episode of Life. Phenomenal tv show (I still want to see Damian Lewis and Sarah Shahi work together again), but there's an episode where the detectives need to get at files locked in an hard drive of a dead Iranian kid's Xbox. They enlist his sister to play through so many "levels" of "Prince of Persia" until they unlock the files.

It was really dumb, but the soundtrack was phenomenal, which made up for it.

From LOST, guy goes up to a nuke that's caused radiation sickness and just touches it casually.

Worst of all the nuke is suspended by a flimsy rope on a rickety wooden structure, on an island prone to extreme weather

In fairness to the Dexter spotting scene.. there's no way someone's peripheral vision is that good. Of course Saxon stands up turns and likely sees him anyway lol.

I will defend this scene.

and the breaking bad one. these are not some of the dumbest scenes. come on.

Every single one of Kim's scenes from season 2 of 24.

The bobcat was the least stupidest part.

I never felt so insulted watching anything in my life.

I also remember the Gabby Gifford newscast/montage to be terrible in The Newsroom.

Edit: video with more Coldplay!

Edit: I also forgot that Dev Patel was a conspiracy nut who believed in Big Foot before they turned him into Edward Snowden where he had to flee the country.

God, this dumbass show.
