Dumbest scene in TV History?

Before the modern incarnation, old Doctor Who tended to take the form of serials with cliffhangers at the end.

That led to this scene from Dragonfire:

In which it appears that
The Doctor realises that it's coming up to the end of the episode and, with no apparent motivation, gets himself into a (literal) cliffhanger situation

This scene starring detective Jim Gordon, Prometheus' Tom Hardy, and the abrupt musical stylings of imogene heap:

Dude, this scene is iconic for a reason. Ryan's brother was a scumbag who had previously tried to rape Marissa. It made perfect sense for the melodrama that The OC was.

Now, if you want to discuss dumb scenes from that show, I'll point you to the weird fight club Ryan was in at the beginning of S4.

.

...I don't think anyone's critiquing the justification to why the dude is being shot. It's his hammy over the top melodramatic reaction to being shot and the anachronistic music playing.

I wouldnt call it iconic but the reason it's so well known is the abrupt transition to that one part of "hide and seek."

I've got to say the big climax of the OA ENDING SPOILERS:
the characters have spent the entire series locked up trying to perfect a synchronised dance that will unleash a power that they will need for some unknown event in the future. What happens is they perform a dance in front of a school shooter to distract him while some random guy hits the shooter with a tray.

I don't think I've ever seen unintentional comedy pulled off so well.

My wife watched this show and this was the most pretentious cringe worthy shit I've ever seen. Embarrassing.

Who could forget this gem from Studio 60?

Keep in mind that it's supposed to be funny!

This was such an awful, self-important show for many reasons, and one of them was definitely that the "comedy skit" segments were so incredibly unfunny.

I like this comment from another Studio 60 scene on YouTube:

Self-righteous, self-indulgent, self-congratulating, self-aggrandizing, tone-deaf garbage.

Just Sorkin in general, imo.
