Is Sony done with Singstar?

So, I'm a huge Singstar fan since the PS3. I have approximately 300 songs from singstore and 7 game discs. Sadly my ps3 is Chinese so I cannot play any PS2 discs but hell I really wanted to. =(

That said did Sony just abandon the series? Last retail game was Singstar Ultimate Party (which sounds final XD) and last update was by the end of 2016. I mean the last update they added stuff because since then they've updated the store removing songs.

Is this a goodbye? I'm the only one who still have a blast with friends playing Singstar?

They have announced a new one, Singstar Celebration. And they have mostly stopped doing standalone games and just do Singstar as an app you buy songs for.

Didn't hear about this. I hope it is still on track. About the app they are removing songs from it and not adding anything new =(

I don't think they are removing songs so much as losing the license to keep them, but sure, either way, that doesn't bode well for confidence and support of the app.

On the plus side, SingStar Celebration is a nice way to relaunch SingStar without having to release all the hardware that they've had to in the past to get a SingStar into the hands of a general audience. Hopefully this works out.

Hopefully, the less games around that make people ask me to sing the better.
Lol, my extended family loves karaoke games. To be fare some of them are very good singers and couple of my cousins are classically trained. Not me though. I am the "red-headed-step-child" when it comes to singing.

My friends didn't like at first because no one can really sing. But then with all the party modes and songs we really like (plus alcohol) everyone started to think they can Beyoncé the shit out of Bohemian Rhapsody, and that moment is the most beautiful thing.
