Secret of Mana Remake (PC/Vita/PS4, February 15th, 2018) Trailer

I read on Kotaku that there's only online multiplayer and I was PISSED. Looks like there actually is local multiplayer for the Steam version. Def buying this.

Can someone explain how the chibi-like characters in this remake look better and more authentic to the Super Nintendo/PS1 style than the flat, non-expressional chibi characters from Final Fantasy 15 pocket edition? Did someone miss a memo at the company or did an artist go missing?

I've heard that the SNES game was originally intended for the SNES PlayStation add-on and a lot of content was cut when the game was refitted into a cartridge. It true then I hope this remake is something of a director's cut.

haha, i thought they were going to redo the style of the first game and finish the parts of the game which never got finished, or were cut. this just looks so heinous. what is wrong with them? christ almighty.

never have i so quickly experienced feelings of incredible hype dropping to incredible despair.

Replaying the snes version with my son right now and having a blast. A shame about the art of this remake, it looks like dog shit.

Reading the thread title I thought it was going to get the proper current-gen style remake. Not whatever this is :\

The dream came true with the leak, then was shattered with the reveal. This looks like shit.

Looks horrible.

Meh. I think I'd rather play the original

Why is this not cel shaded?

lol, that art style is terrible. Still buying it though.

Should have just ported the Android version and fixed the controls

Somehow, they managed to make a SNES game look worse.

This looks bad. Thank god I can play this gem on the SNES Classic Mini.

This looks like a mobile game they hastily put together for the PS4.

So, everyone here is finally admitting that they have never liked Adventure of Mana's artstyle?

It may look like it but there's more depth now compared to AoM:

No idea what was cut but there's one point in the game where suddenly you go off to the empire with no explanation, there has to be something missing there

That would be teh only reason I'd get this

this will be amazing. the art is fine once you start playing. worked well for the first game.

thank you for bringing this, i'm happy. it's always vita.

I never had a chance to play the original so i'm very interested in this. Not too sure about the art style (and i'm someone who usually loves chibi art-style.)

I just hope it will include the Japanese audio because i can already tell that i will hate the American voice acting.

It looks like hot garbage. Who asked for this?

It really drives home the fact that jrpgs lost me just about the time when the protagonists were rendered in 3D. The sprites were always great.

Never did. However, Adventure is harder to play legally. But Secret of Mana is on the Wii VC and now on the SNES mini, so a remake needs to have something more.

This looks amazing but I'd rather they translate the collection so we have an official release of Seiken Densetsu 3. Compared to others I think this art style looks fantastic, I love low poly 3D stuff though.
