Secret of Mana Remake (PC/Vita/PS4, February 15th, 2018) Trailer

I'd much rather get that SD collection over here but I'll pay $40 for the ps4 version, no hesitation.

Been wanting to replay the game for years anyway

Holy shit its 40$

For that?

Okay nevermind, screw the artstyle and possible combat problems that price is insane. It looks like an iOS game or a cheap Vita game. Also its a remake of just one freaking game. No way am I paying 40$ for it if it doesn't have any new content.

I am Setsuna was around that, and digitally only too. Its how it is with SE.

I've just pre-ordered this on PSN. I've got a SNES mini on pre-order, so I'm looking forward to playing both versions of Secret of Mana.

Can't see the video where I'm currently at, but did they fix the screen scrolling? In the SNES game, you had to be way, way over to the edge of the screen, making it hard to see where you were headed.

Is it ps4/Vita cross buy?
If not I hope there's a cross save option at least.

Now I need a good cell shaded Chrono trigger remaster and a high poly/texture remaster of Vagrant Story and Parasite Eve to like Square as I liked it in the 90's.

Wish they'd have done a nice physical collectors edition with a soundtrack and poster of the intro. Probably still getting it as it's a childhood favorite.

IMO this looks really nice and charming, it's certainly an improvement over Adventures of Mana and even Rise of Mana. Hopefully it plays well sells enough for Seiken Densetsu 3 to be remade too.

Hmm... since this is a simultaneous worldwide release, I wonder if the Japanese version will include English voice/text.

Knowing their track record probably not. Final fantasy X HD, and world of ff, and builders had to purchased separately.

I'm in if the Japanese physical copy has english subtitles. I Am Setsuna had it, please Square Enix

Fake Edit:
Can a certain Chrono game be up next?

Not amazing but I'm fine with it. Secret of Mana, though it had some good spots, wasn't one that I really thought had great sprite work anyway. That comparison that people have been posting hasn't changed my mind either.

I wish they would go with other art styles for these remakes. They really don't hold a candle to the originals.

Maybe it's been asked but does Square Enix currently have a big problem with Nintendo? Is there continued bad blood between them that results in a remake of this game, that was originally on the SNES, not being considered for Nintendo platforms? Do they only put titles on the systems simply because they have no other choice? For example Dragon Quest 9, 10, and 11 were on the DS, Wii and 3DS because of the install base and if they had an equal option else where they would have never considered them and rushed to put them on something else? Then there are the times if they do put out these classic games or remakes they stay in Japan and are never localized. Yet if something goes to Sony a English localization is confirmed right away. This is like Capcom making those NES game collections and putting them everywhere but Nintendo hardware just because. What the hell is going on? I really don't understand what is happening here.

Secret of Mana had this lush and fantastic look to it that seems to have been ignored for this. And it feels like there's an obvious platform missing. Really bummed about what I'm seeing.

This is awesome! One of my favorite games of all time! Seriously pumped about this. I really hope it gets some of the content that was cut when it made the switch from the SNES CD-ROM to a cartridge.

Would be cool, but seriously doubt it. The content that was cut affected the entire game. The game was basically redone to fit a cartridge.

I mean it's cool a new generation can experience the game it's just a shame it's so unappealing aesthetically.

Everyone is saying this but I don't see it? I think it looks quite charming, actually. This is coming from someone who's beaten the original about 100 times.

I'm not saying it matches up but it's not this huge travesty everyone seems to be making it out to be.

Should probably not trust the 7-11 security cameras quite so much
Let this be a warning to anyone who wants a Chrono Trigger remake. This is what it would look like.

I love Secret of Mana enough to at least give this a shot. Hopefully by then Sony will stop giving me "your transaction may not be complete" errors whenever I try to buy stuff from them.

You guys should remove the rose tinted glasses.

Judging from these particular screens the snes version looks extremely flat(some architectural elements aren't easy to decipher) and dark, the 2d android version looks more vibrant, with more depth and closer to a 32 bit game and the new version looks flat because of the lack of shadows and darker tones, if they didn't do such mistakes it would have looked way better.

Judging from these screens the 2d android version is clearly the best one graphically.

That said this new version looks exactly what it is, a cheap looking mobile game, square could have easily improved the graphics on all platforms(vita included).

damn, I would have preferred the Android version.

I guess I'll still play it.

But that F2P mobile game art style isn't helping me get hyped.

I've never played Secret of Mana but...Idk, it doesn't look so bad. Maybe it's because I don't have the attachment to the original.

Not to say that it looks great, it just doesn't look bad. I'm interested!

WHAT?!?!?!?! *dead*

I had no idea they were considering this. I thought with the Seiken Densetsu trilogy that this was all the Mana we were getting!
