Well, despite sticking with Vita since I played the previous games on there, trying it out on PS4 was rather nice & I kind of wish I had pre-ordered the PS4 version of the LE, but oh well, saving $20 & it'll be nice having something new to play on my Vita, even if it feels like a small downgrade.
& wow, yeah, even cranking the voice volume up to max doesn't seem to help much.

Did you try searching on the webstore? I couldn't find it on the US store from the Vita itself either but it was on the webstore.

I must resist the urge to download this demo. The game comes out next month, so I think I can hold out...

Why? The demo doesn't spoil anything, it's just an introduction to some of the characters and an overview of the mechanics of the game.
I want to say that they fixed the issue from DR2 where you'd gain the same amount of XP for leveling up from running as you would walking, so if you wanted to level up, you always had to walk since running would get you to your location faster but in exchange, you'd earn less XP. Now, it seems as though if you run, you'll also speed up the level grinding as well.
Just played through this. I've honestly been pretty sour on it since the JP launch. I heard some things about the plot back then that I just wasn't into and it really dampened my hype. I honestly had a great time with this demo though. Seems Spike hasn't missed a beat. The art, music, and characters still combine to give DR an atmosphere unlike anything else I've played. I'm entertained and intrigued by the class and a little charmed by a couple of them already.
This just reminded me how much I like DR in general, I think. 2 is one of my favorite games ever. I still think DR1 is really solid. I'm pretty sure I like UDG more than most people I know. I didn't finish the DR3 anime, but I didn't really hate it while I was watching it. So yeah. Despite my misgivings, I think I'll go ahead and grab this. Seems like a great time.
Btw: That's definitely still JYB as Hajime. He did the same thing with Yu and a certain other character from P4 that he also voiced. Once Yu started speaking prominently in the P4 spin-offs, John just made the other character sound much younger and less masculine. He seems to have done the same thing with Hajime, now that Rantaro is around.

I got bored & decided to test how high I can get my level in the demo.
.....I've reached level 35. I think it's going to let me hit level 50 (which was the max in DR2), but then watch as nothing happens, nor will my level transfer to the main game.

The skill is Machine Gun, the skill from the demo which lets you fire the silencer rapidly, & the present is "Nail Brush", but no idea what the cutscene that it unlocks is

Level 99 was the max in both danganronpa 1/2, unless you meant in the demos for those games or something.
The event (no spoilers, but tagged in case you want it to be a surprise)
is a scene that has Tsumugi offering to paint Kaede's nails however, Rantaro arrives and ends up painting them instead (he has several younger sisters and is used to do stuff like this), this ends up upsetting Tsusmugi and she calls Rantaro a 'normie' before leaving.
I loved the demo, will definitely buy the full game. I completed the demo and saved at the end. I'll be able to load this save with the physical version of the game (not just the digital version), right?
The art style is very nice, I like the pop-up book effect with the rooms and characters 'springing' up.

completed D1 and D2, but i didnt finish the anime, does D3 reference the anime?
V3 is supposedly a soft reboot and knowledge of 1,2, anime, seems to be not necessary.
Is the Vita and PS4 versions crosssave/buy? I don't want to google it and get spoilers.

I won't go into details because of spoilers but I really REALLY wouldn't recommend it as someone's first DanganRonpa game. Play at least the first one before this one.

God, this is so good.

Since I don't have a PS4 yet (I'm gonna get one eventually, dammit!), I guess this will be my swan song on Vita.
Really hope that audio quality patch comes through. I had to basically max out character voices and almost mute the music/SFX to hear the VAs.

The pacing here isn't representative of the game. The demo is paced a lot quicker since they want to show all the mechanics quickly.

enjoyed the demo. not really impressed with the cast, & really wish they'd resist adding additional friggin' mini-games with each new entry, but, other than that? in!

Beat the demo and will now gamble on my favourites surviving the game. I've had terrible luck so rooting for Kirumi Tojo and Maki Harukawa to be survivors. Guess I've cursed them to not survive.
Ok, was wondering about that on PS4. I guess maybe it was a quick rush to get it done. Pretty impressed the amount of voicework for a demo that has nothing to do with the full game.

Apparently I'm allowed to announce this? I'm never sure about these things, but other voice actors have announced.
You thought you were rid of me, just because it's a completely new cast?! WRONG! I maintain my kingly status as the only American voice actor to appear in every Danganronpa game, as I take up the role of Monodam. This is not a plot spoiler; Monodam has nothing to do with Byukuya. It's just that I'm *awesome* and they wanted me *back*.

Shit, you voiced Byakuya? He's one of my favorite characters in the series.

Detective guy seems easy bet being the detective, though he was rather useless in the demo.
Personally I will like to see the ultimate tennis player and entomologist to survive. But I also have a nice list of cursed characters in danganronpa so...

Which sucks because I can see which exact 5 characters who I'm not particularly fond of right now surviving. Maid girl seems to look the coolest and best personality but she's got death flags all over her.

Personally I put her on the "possible killer " list along with Magician, Cosplayer, Artist for the girls and the ultimate ??? and leader for the boys.
Of course, watch half of them becoming victims instead.
