Destiny on PC is a game changer

I'm using a Logitech G13 (gameboard) and a Logitech G600 (MMO mouse) with this game. I have the three weapons on my mouse buttons (1, 2 and 3) and the keys configured as folllowing:

Works for me! Although I'm thinking about moving the Super Move or Interact keys to G13 (which would be F in a standard keyboard).

Yes...

but this ain't new.

It's new for Destiny, which wasn't on PC before. OP is comparing Destiny 1 on consoles with Destiny 2 on PC.

High framerate and low input delay directly affects the game is actually played. If changing the way a game plays isn't game-changing...

The effect is especially pronounced in fast action games. Try playing Super Mario Bros. at 30FPS and tell me it's the same game.

This. People read too much into the post or dont know that destiny is on pc for the first time or just shit posts in general.

As someone that thought Destiny 1 had a lot of promise but hated the 30fps + controller, this is good to hear. I will be trying the beta tonight. I need a break from PUBG :)

I mean it makes sense to be holybatman amazed if you only played Destiny 1 ever and nothing else. Or maybe older gen consoles / most of new gen.

Lol wut? Almost every streamer who played the beta yest (People who play every single game that comes out) was surprised and amazed at how good it feels and runs. .

I would be amazedballs if that was my income too.

I mean I am impressed don't get me wrong. I think yea all reading me too negatively.

When does the open beta start today? Anyone know the time?

anyone else feel the pvp feels really off with a mouse?

I've logged around 1000 hours on destiny 1 on ps4 so I'm very use to the controller, but I do play all my multi platform shooters on pc. I played a few rounds on the PC beta with controller and still made top fragger, but when switching to mouse, it just... doesnt feel right?, as if its a console shooter just ported to pc for the sake of it...?

anyone else feeling this?

What does income have to do with being amazed at a game? It works on budget rigs at max settings as well.

Hows the controller support on the PC version so far? I'm a controll + chair kind of guy on my PC. I wanted to play Destiny 1 but didn't like the 30fps on the console. Thinking about trying Destiny 2, but I usually don't buy games day 1..

6700k
1080ti

I can get 4k 90fps on high settings, but ultra tanks it to a steady 30 lol. Need to figure out the sweet spot of settings.

I was also trying to use my steam controller, which doesn't work great with non steam apps so I've got to figure out a scheme that works because fuck using a stick

Seems like a great port. I hated destiny 1 but I can't wait for release now that the PC version is so solid

7700k 1080ti here over 60fps on 4k shadows high msaa off. u should not have to sacrifice much.

its not really a taxing game.

I dont use controller but from what i hear.. its perfect

These questions were asked and answered on the previous page. ;)

Exactly the same as console.

Is the PC beta only open to pre-orders?

I was on the fence since so many of my friends don't play on PC but it really does sound like this version takes the game from great to amazeballs.

To the people acting like this shouldn't be a surprise, let's please try to remember that shitty PC ports are still pretty common nowadays.

The closed beta is just a 24-hour early access period. The open (public) beta kicks off in:

this game is not a single player, and the most important is the community, i give it a month or so until is full of russians hackers, mods, glitches or whatever... that will ruin the online experience.

look at the division.

Bungie have made it clear that they are going to put care and attention into the PC version of the game. A hell of a lot more than Ubisoft ever would, I bet.

They already have a system and plan in place for hackers. Cant rly compare division to destiny lol. Bungie is way more competent than ubisoft.

Ohhhh that's good to know. How long does it run?

As long as it's not too CPU-heavy my PC should be able to handle it easily on high settings, especially since I haven't moved up to 4k yet.

Three days, until 10am PT on the 31st, though it may be extended.

It's also worth noting that most shitty PC ports are only shitty by PC standards. Even Dark Souls, the poster child of bad PC ports, was better than the its console counterpart from day one even without mods. Sometimes you get something really disgusting like the Resident Evil 4 from Ubisoft, but that's pretty rare.

I want to play on PC for graphics

But want to play with gamepad for comfort.

I hope that i can scare up some like minded PC owners for a fireteam otherwise im gonna suck even more than usual

Samurai Warriors Spirit of Sanada is a recent example of a game that runs worse on an i7 and gtx1070 than it does on a ps4 pro. It's rare, but it's still freaking happening.

It was shocking how different and amazing it felt after playing Destiny for a couple hundred hours on PS4. Don't think I can ever go back. Despite the marketing deal with Sony, this is the definitive version.

It so good. I was kinda meh about D2 after the PS4 Beta , but this has given the game a whole new life for me. If anybody needs a PC clan to join, team WIPE is here for ya. Quote for link

And there was that batman game that was across the board broken..

Still talking about pennies here.

I'm bummed I have to wait almost 2 whole months for this, because goddamn.

Just...you know when you play a game for so long at 30 fps with a controller and then all of a sudden you have dpi settings and higher frame rate and better graphics and it's like you finally got around to washing the windshield on your car and shit looks amazing outside?

I put a lot of time into Destiny 1, but all of my friends have been wishing and praying for this day.

Yesterday was a good day!

Still ran better and looked better on PC than the console version (with either mid-rnage or higher PC hardware and when textures where knocked down a notch form whatever the highest setting was). Performance was very uneven when on the Batmobile on release though but where still north of 30. IT really is very rare ot see a game be WORSE on PC than console. IT's just the closer to the console verison it is, the more PC gamers ar elikely to be unhappy.
