Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

tbh that 30fps and 60fps titan smash gif post, though it looks smoother at 60fps it isn't a dramatic/drastic change. game is perfectly enjoyable at 30fps

Oh, it's Destiny time again?..... Yeah.....yeah let's do this. Hopefully my 3 week old will allow me an hour a day. I'm going to be so far behind everyone :(

Don't worry, your 3 week old will be 3 years old and asking can I watch Daddy
I'll be here Patrolling and Farming as usual

So you got a Guardian in me... If on PS4*

*If not, you Heathen!

Can we not have a CPU console war? The thing runs Forza at 4K at 60fps with HDR. All I'm trying to do is see if Xbox One X will have an enhanced version. I see there's no official stance from publisher or developer, so PS4 Pro it likely is. Sucks as my character is on Xbox.

There's a marketing deal. It will get enhancements.

Sentinel team utility with Code of the Protector is off the charts, IMO

Either of the two walls is beneficial (large cover or short + reload), then:

Defensive Strike: Kill an enemy with this Melee Ability to create an overshield around you and nearby allies.
Rallying Force: Melee kills restore Health for you and nearby allies.

Pretty great stuff. Pair with some exotic(s) that help you get melee again quicker and your team will be hardy like bear

I think my issue is that I don't really feel as though I melee enough to make it work, although I won't deny that - especially in CQC instances - Sentinel can probably be off the charts useful in the right hands.

I just don't I think I am going to be those hands this time around.

It's not solely about framerate or visuals, but mouse and keyboard vs a controller too.

And not having to pay for PS+ or XBL.

I didn't think it was. i'm sure that in addition to the factors you mentioned, friends is also something that comes into play/consideration. I was merely posting my opinion in regards to the frames, mostly because i thought the difference would be much more noticeable/drastic.

Felt the need to commemorate the most clutch Raid Play of Destiny 1.

To set the table, the Destiny community was fuming at the HM Crota Raid. The inflated stats, the need perceived need for Horns, the near perfect run you needed to execute this.

We had a rough go at it, so the next night Sushi and Xplicit joined my clan to try one more time against the big bully. This was old school strategy before established ones like the distraction bubble developed, you had to set a bubble down by Crota to shield the sword bearer from the boomers. Well as you can see, Crota's enrage hits, and our sword bearer dies. Chaos ensues. Everyone starts throwing rockets unsynchronized, some at Crota, some at the overwatch. I fall off the ledge and die from a thrall, Sushi is firing pebbles at Crota, and then by some miracle Crota kneels. Our Titan swoops in out of nowhere, never having wielded a sword before, and starts slicing all over the place. He gets killed by the boomers but downs Crota at the same time. Sushi falls, it was all or nothing.

I'm not even ashamed to admit that after repeated failures trying to kill that mofo, I pulled the Ethernet cable from my PS4. Craziest glitch ever and I still have no clue how someone figured it out.

Thought I would post this here and see if anyone is interested.

Tomorrow night at Midnight I'm gonna be teaming up with my guildmate from FFXIV to play through as much as the campaign as we can muster. If anyone wants to hangout with us and be our third, we'd be happy to have you. My friend is pretty new to FPS (Destiny was basically her first one, she completed all of the story missions but no raids or anything) but she shares my love for the game and it's world.

If anyone is interested feel free to respond here or send me a PM.

My favorite Destiny thing was either my first Skolas kill with DGAF with whoever it was running a ton of Skolas kills to help complete Year 1 moments of Triumph (does anyone remember who this was?) or my first Oryx kill. Skolas was satisfying cause we had no wipes and Oryx was satisfying cause the amount of tries it took and when we finally got it I screamed so loud a dog started freaking out above my apartment and my roommate had to come check on me.

I am pretty damn pumped about the launch and I am thinking about staying up a lot later than I shoulf but we'll see.

We are slammed at work with Hurricane Harvey aftermath so not sure if it is worth it.

That was me (: Skolas School, Drizzay picked up the next week but I ran carries for two full days. Really everyone was pitching in. I had so much fun helping everyone out.

Congrats to DNAbro and plantedunicorn! Awesome Skolas School run, neither had done PoE 35 before and we did it without wiping once the entire PoE! 1 hour 15 minutes and it was cake! Some of the best teamwork I've seen in Destiny to date to have to two new guys roll through PoE 35 like that, amazing! Edit: no hunters too, suck it hunters! (that's my main class)

Not gonna be able to do all stuff on reset (Tuesday morning) anymore with Destiny gaf but will have random times during week so hoping there we always be enough gaf members for random midweek raids

Anyone have any good loot stories/random occurances from D1?

Mine is a story I've told a few times. Back in October 2014 I joined up with a few people to do my first Nightfall. I wasn't too familiar with end game activities or gear at that point. They helped me through the Nightfall and I got Hawkmoon on a drop. I was so excited to get an exotic and I wasn't familiar with the gun so it was a great moment, especially with how frustrating loot was back then.

After that we grabbed a few more and I went on my first raid. Once we killed Atheon, I got my second exotic drop of the night. Another Hawkmoon. My fireteam got so mad LOL. One guy actually rage quit. One of them commented that I should be allowed to dual wield them. Hawkmoon became my most used primary in Year 1 and it made my first Nightfall and Raid very memorable.

You may be thinking of Drizz... :')

Yup it was with you. Fun times, I still can't believe we did it first try.

Fun IB tonight guys, thanks.

Skolas School ultimately got 10 people through this week. There were three no wipe runs, two with two new guys and one with assistance from HidingMyThunder. Our quickest was with Inco and DeviantBoy at 59 minutes who had some PoE experience and then after that was Voa127 and DNAbro who took down Skolas in only a few more minutes without having run PoE 35 before.

Here's a pretty good video of a Skolas run from the first mine round on. It's a shame I didn't record voice because despite the deaths it was orchestrated extremely well. I learned a lot from it as the week went on and the last 3 runs I did in the school we did without wiping. It became a pretty mechanical fight with a good leader calling out positions and roles once I figued out all the roles in different situations. Turns out hunters were the weakest class to bring in.

I got Icebreaker early on in vanilla D1 and didn't realise it was beast until after I had quit shortly after Dark Below, when I returned during RoI, it was Year One muck and useless again...so that sucked haha.

That'll teach me for not playing with others enough during Vanilla (even though I was part of DGAF ANZ): learned the era of my ways and clanned up bigtime after that....also missed out on that infamous Gally Xur selling in week 2 or 3 I think it was lol...regret, thy name is Gjallarhorn.

I made the mistake of not getting involved with DGAF the first time round. Not doing it again. What's up DGAF, all aboard the hype train!

Awesome OP, thanks.

I got Gjallarhorn on my first Prison of Elders. Wasn't quite in it's heyday but still fun.

As long as your account(purchaser) is main on their console, yes.

Okay thank you, because I was worried when my friend Intalled the game, and would launch the game the countdown wouldn't appear on her account. When I did it the countdown does appear. So that got me thinking what if it doesn't work.

Only picked up Destiny a few months back but since then have had one of the best gaming experiences ever. Especially with Raiding, which is basically all I've been doing on my PS4 for the last month or two. Can't wait for D2, got 3 days off work to commit to it and keen to dig in midnight tonight.
