Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

Praying for a successful launch DGAF tonight. I will be there right with you on PC release basking in that guardian glory, can't wait.

None free that I've seen but recent promotional tie-in's for Destiny 2 loot have been:

  • Branded packs of Pop Tarts - EXP Boost
  • Branded cans of Rockstar Energy - Weapon or Armour Engrams
  • Virgin Media Customers - An exclusive sparrow
  • Relief for Houston - Buy the Bungie Foundation pin for an emblem

I do remember you.

Most of us are sticking to PS4, but some have moved on to PC (sadly).
 
Yep, servers go live in 3 hours 25 minutes from this post. (You need to have the game unlocked or physical to play then, however).

Looks like the game will unlock in a couple of hours here in NZ and I'll probably be asleep when it does, No big loss since I went physical so I'll have to wait till tomorrow to get the game anyway.
 
7.5 hours to go... But I decide to have a sleep first at my 9:00pm and wake up at 5:00am to start my D2 trip...

I'm so hyped!!!!
But I had cold and cough... what a bad luck...

PS4 still seems to be on top in that respect, although a good chunk on PC as well. I've also seen more Xbox people this time around than I remember previously so you're probably good to go whatever you choose!

I really wish this game had cross play or at least a shared account. I'm building a new PC and I would have loved to play Destiny on it, but as it is I can't leave DGAF and my friends behind, they're the ones that made Destiny one of my most memorable experiences. It sucks that the community will be split like this but at least I'm happy that PC only gamers are getting the option.

Hopefully we get to play together again PS4 DGAF, I'll take a look at the clans since apparently that's more of a thing now?

Thanks! Seems odd given all the codes for Destiny 1. Were there any rewards for participating in the beta? Or from Destiny 1?

Yup, sorry - here's the blog post detailing emblems for things completed in Destiny 1. You get an emblem for having played the Destiny 2 beta as well, I'll try and dig it up.

Reset is in 15 mins for D1. Would love for it to have over the top modifiers on strikes and nightfall. Give me something to bash while waiting.
 
Curios to see what class will people choose to start with.

I will start as a Titan, same as D1, always felt that class as my ''main'', eventhough Destiny has a different concept of mains and alts like say WoW.

Thanks again. While I did all the content for Destiny 1 and got all the trophies I rarely stuck around to do the the books or farm the stuff, I think I may be missing most of these. Shame.

Ok, serious question: buddy guardian purchased the game via his US account, we're both from EU. Not only is he missing out on launch midnight, my time, but now I am worried about our fireteam, how does it work. Will he play on my server or will I be transfered to his or whaaat?

Sorry, noob question I know, just want to make sure we'll be able to properly play D2.
 
I've got a funny feeling vets of D1 importing their account across will have a different opening cinematic. No leaks or spoilers or anything, just reading between the lines of what's been said.

It won't impact after his store unlocks him the game. There are no different servers as for playing together, from what i understand, it just impacts the login for the launch day.

In fact, D1 was well known for it's MM with people from all over the world, esp in PvP :P

Funny, I had a similar thought when I saw the image of three guardians climbing a snow-capped mountain with the bound traveller in the background. Could just be a cutscene from a mission but it immediately looked like Felwinter's Peak and a fireteam. Just hit me as D1 in D2 for a second and made me wonder. Of course with FP returning as a multiplayer map we could be returning there in the early missions.

What's the general feeling so far? Does it fix most of the original's shortcomings? Is it everything the community wanted from a sequel?

I´d say it went like this:

-People were hyped by the initial reveal.
-A little bummed by the BETA
-Impressed by the PC BETA
-Really impressed by all the reveals from last week (EDZ etc)

Hype level is critical right now.

Truthfully, nobody really knows yet. The servers don't go live for another 2 hours, and there's no reviews as the servers haven't been up. It should be clearer later today. The original Destiny crashed and burned word of mouth wise on initial launch, as it wasn't what many people were expecting (another Halo, basically). That probably (?) won't happen this time.
