Yep, confirmed.

Yup, we are fucked, Puerto Rico-gaf. Our local energy company is broke and yesterday as a Cat 3 stated that we could be without electricity for 3-4 months... Imagine a Cat 5.

Be safe, Puerto Rico-gaf. De ésta no nos salva nadie. :/

I didn't have power for over a month after Andrew. 3-4? Jesus Christ.

That's a fucking killer storm. I got my family down in PR.. Going to be a tense few days then get prepared to deal with it myself here in FL.

Side note, that's a terrifyingly beautiful storm.

Fuck.
I need to quit reading these threads.

Lifelong Central Floridian here and I used to never get anxiety this bad during hurricane season. Now I'm a freaking wreck.

National Hurricane track...

Cat 5 all the way to fucking Cuba.[/QUOTE]

Fucking Hell. I don't even know what to say to this.

Cat 5 all the way to fucking Cuba.

That track would also minimise the storms interaction with the mountains of cuba. Probably why they say it will only drop to cat 4. Personally I think it could maintain cat 5 because the sea round that area is red hot.

You need to get the fuck out of there.. :(

This is coming from someone who lives right near the GA/FLA line, an hour from the coast.

Aw hell I'm in Pensacola and the track is starting to shift west and I can't afford to run very far if at all. Probably go to a shelter if its coming here as we have very large oak trees in our backyard one is dead so they will probably come down.

I remember Andrew, back in the days before the internet had blown up, and that was scary enough without knowing much about the details. All this extra info almost makes it worse. Sad to see Key West in that track - not easy to evacuate and already has plenty of issues with how low lying it is.

I hope Dry Tortugas park survives this, that place was amazing.

Good luck Floridians/Cubans/Puerto Ricans/etc

At this point it's probably safer for me to ride this out where I work at(Oceanside condo) than where I live.

Fuck having nowhere to go/noway to leave.

Big argument in the office right now as to whether it's right to have the office open. Some workers walking out - all pretty polite though.

Does anyone having a working historical hurricane records search site? Because I think this could end up being the second strongest storm to ever hit this country. And it's only 48 hours away.

The strongest one moved so much sand that it took two islands and made them into one... amazing to think we could be facing something of that nature.

...still think it could go south over Puerto Rico and Hispaniola though.

Euro and GFS still have it tracking different paths

Can anyone post these paths? I trust the Euro more... Where can I get updated euro model info?

My sister-in-law lives right on the water, about 30 miles south of Tampa. She says she's fleeing to our place (here in NOLA).

We're urging her to get out early.

The ECMWF (European model) only updates every 12 hours, so the last one you see in this thread is still the current one.

The new one will appear in the near future on this site: https://www.tropicaltidbits.com/ana...n=watl&pkg=mslp_uv850&runtime=2017090500&fh=0

Just select "12z Tuesday, Sep 05" as soon as it's available. The run was initiated at 1200 UTC (i.e., 12z), i.e., 55 minutes ago. I think the first prognosis for +24h will appear around 1400ish UTC.
