Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

Yeah I loved that in the beta, especially how seamless it was and everything. Hope more story missions make effective use of that sort of thing, because it worked really well I think.
Yeah, it was so seamless. That's what makes it so impressive.

Didn't stay up late to play because of working early. Now I'm just sitting here trying to decide on a class. I initially thought of Warlock, but it's seeming a bit more boring of a choice for me than Hunter or Titan. Probably going Hunter but they seem less flashy than the other classes.

Right, so if it's so pointless why not 'balance' the team out superficially with a somewhat close average of player levels. Otherwise they're going to deter people from playing any more than the 2 games the quest asks you to play.
Because it doesn't mean anything and they don't want to pander to people who can't get past a number despite it having no bearing on PvP ability?

D1 was the same, it didn't deter anything.

For the third time:

True, though the skills and how they're effectively used in PvP are really quite different to PvE. I get what you mean about the base knowledge but at the same time you could have someone level to cap and max-power in PvE and hop into PvP for the first time and be trash.

How much of this game takes place on Earth or similar?

I wasn't a fan of Mars or Venus in D1. Much prefer the Earth/Moon locations.

hunters are all about being flashy, they get off on it

This exactly. It's not new.

Dang I DO NOT want to be at work right now.

So I started with Warlock, are hunters still the weakest of the bunch. Probably gonna start my Titan when I get home and play Warlock with the wife.

I played through the beta mission (with my existing D1 character) and had to stop. Am I still coming to the point where I can choose a new class for D2, or did I miss it somehow?

Finally got my copy! And because of all that salt I also got a pack of some salty potato chips. :)

It's almost like Destiny itself was new at some point and its resulting popularity with the system in place renders your point completely moot.

Your ignoring of actual discussion to repeat the same nonsense is starting to get tiring.

Just played for 15 hours. I didn't even do that with Destiny 1. This game is way better so far. I won't spoil shit, but I'm really enjoying it after being disappointed with vanilla Destiny.

I have never played Destiny so can someone tell me what kind of game this is? It sounds like a Diablo but in FPS format?
Sci-fi FPS with space magic. You get grenades, special abilities, super abilities (like finishing moves that can wipe out the entire enemy team if you don't get killed before you kill them all). Haven't played diablo so can't comment if the loot is like that but yeah it's a loot game

Beta progress was wiped. You start afresh if you didn't play D1.

I'm saying, I played a Titan in D1 and I want to try a different class for D2. But I just played through the beta mission, still as my D1 Titan, and I'm not sure if I missed the point in the game where I could pick a different class.

There was a time when people hadn't played Destiny either, and it was the same, and look how popular Destiny was.

What are you on about. I'm having a discussion.

What are you on about. I'm having a discussion.
You've ignored four of my previous replies actually attempting to discuss it with you in a reasoned way to repeat the same nonsense that's been refuted in said posts repeatedly.

That's not a discussion. That's just choosing who you reply to because you seem to be incapable of forming further thought.

"But the numbers" is the entirety of your response.

You have to select a character before that mission starts, that is where you would create a character. If you had three characters in D1 you'll have to delete one to start a new one.

Unbelievable, man. Game keeps crashing my PS4 Pro. I've tried everything. Even initialized the console. The beta was causing the same issue and it's still NOT fixed. I'm pissed.

Only PS4 I'm afraid, after I saw you active in this thread I was hoping for some coop action, didn't know you're gonna play on PC :(
😭😭😭

Depending on how things pan out, I MIGHT buy the PS4 version next year just to play with some people on GAF/IRL friends. My financial situation dictates that I not buy any new games (excluding Y6) or any PS+ subscriptions till I upgrade my PC. After that I'll most definitely get the PS4 version.

Then we will kill some Space Turtles together.

I've ignored them as you've kept repeating the same thing over and over again, the same way I'd ignore a yapping dog. You've said your bit, I read it, there was no further bit to discuss about it, as it was a rather open and closed bit of information.

On the basic level matchmaking should at least attempt to SUPERFICIALLY BALANCE the PVP games so that players are against players at the same level who have the same amount of abilities unlocked. At the least.

But it's the same as other games. Sure, that might be the case, but other games also attempt to at least make some sort of balance. I get that people are saying there is no need to do such a balance, as the game doesn't take weapons and attributes into account for Crucible PVP.
However, I've played 2 games both of them were very lopsided in favour of the players who had players with twice (if not more) the level of the team I was on. In the basic sense they had a more varied loadout and selection of abilities. Let alone had more time to build up a collection of weapons they'd like to use, where as the lower levels are still stuck with the somewhat generic starter kit.

I have even acknowledged it's early days, I have provided a caveat for you and all of the Destiny fans to use. I'm not going to change my opinion because you don't agree with it. The matchmaking is dumb.

I really liked how you were paired up with other guardians -- other people! --- while fighting with Zavala in the Tower/old social space. That was really fucking cool.

So what would happen if there were no other players available when playing these types of segments? Would it swap in AI?

Can't play till this weekend due to work/family stuff, but all the early impressions sound great!

I am in the same boat. I promised my step son id game with him tonight for a little bit plus I have to fit an hour in to do my Madden GOAT daily challenge (for you MUt players you know what I mean, thank god only a few more days of that) then my Patriots play tomorrow night so yeah its looking like Friday night for me. Having a wife, kids, work and just being an adult sure sucks sometimes lol.

I hope this game is for me, it seems grindy and I cant sit on it for hours every day.

If you eventually pull the trigger on the PS4 version just hit me up.

Man it sucks having to wait until late next month to play. However it's nice to hear many good opinions of the game especially compared to the first one.

When you went on to repeat the same things that that post refuted I didn't really see the point in changing it up. You seem to not be able to get over a number difference despite it meaning nothing as an indicator of PvP ability.

You then went on to make some bizarre suggestion that it would be a deterrent despite the system having been the same in Destiny, which saw immense popularity.

As said before, it being near launch makes no difference. The same will occur 6 months from now. You just have to get over your mental hurdle of, for whatever reason, thinking numbers matter. They don't in normal crucible, never have and it never made a dent. That's why they won't change it, and there being no need for them to.

It's really not hard to just ignore level, appreciating that it has no bearing in individual skill in the Crucible.

I played until 2am last night, it's a blast. The campaign missions are great, but the farming is addictive as hell.
Game looks amazing in 4K and the sound design is off the charts.

It's pretty common among most multiplayer shooters. Not all... but most. I think most will realize you just need to put in the time. Those with more time in game will sometimes have an advantage and you might get beaten'up at first but that's just par for the course.

Why did YOU have to post? I like your posts and I consider you among the smartest guys in the threads I lurk in.

I'll take into heart what you just said. I need to think about this game in a sort of new light.
❤️❤️❤️

what do you think happens in COD, BF, titanfall,... for new players? they are level locked to their equipment, weapons, ...
people arent babies, they will survive

Booting up my PS4 to finish Yakuza: Kiwami and seeing you play D2 broke me a little inside. I gotta wait till October :(

But seriously, hope you're enjoying it!
Now 11!

Yes my friend I love Destiny, if you ever get it on ps4 dont hesitate to contact me.

lol my game wasn't supposed to be delivered until 6-8pm this evening.. I just got a notification, at 10am, that it was delivered. It's gonna be a long day at work... >_>
