Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

So are whites, greens, blues still pointless junk? I was really hoping Bungie would implement some cool new features (with the mods maybe) that made at least blues viable and fun to collect.

ugggghhhh I should stop following this thread, you're gonna break me.

*waits for october, waits for october*

Honestly I do not regret double dipping since the game is so much fun but the PC version is so above and beyond the console version you can't help going "why isn't it october yet" as you play the console version and have to suffer the 30 fps with way inferior graphics.

Gonna take a break for an hour or so.

I'm 6-7 hours in at this point... Currently level 12. Solid progress so far.

Nessus seems like an awesome location from my time on it

I'm lost, are the daily bounties, either being PvE or PvP, gone?

So Destiny 2 is actually a downgrade from the grimoire? Where is my lore for enemies/locations etc.?

Adventures is your go-to, but yeah, it's clearly not as deep as the Grimoire since it's only audio-log and in-game interaction.

Environments have scannables that give some dialogue, lore and such, but as far I know that stuff doesn't go into any book or like that you can read.

Edit: but ye... in amount of lore and backstory we get D2 is huge downgrade

If you have the disposable income, there are worse things you could do than buy an excellent game twice. It's great, come join the fun.

I have the disposable income...but the game is $80 in Canada and I'd have to start up PS+ again (haven't used my PS4 at all since I built my PC last December).

Basically, it's over $100 for something I won't touch again come October 24th.

Annnnnd I'm still likely to do it this weekend. I have 99 games on Steam and Overwatch Season 6 to play so I'll do my best to resist, but I put in a fuck ton of time (over 6000 Trials games helping people to the Lighthouse) in to the first game and it would be neat to see the memories + play a bit with people who aren't making the PC jump.

Why can't Warframe Plains of Eidolon be out...would make resisting that much easier.

After vanilla destiny asking for tjis is absurd. I would much rather have it this way than what it was back during D1s launch.

The right move was the Black Spindle. Make if fair and available to all, but put it behind challenging end game hard content.

Armor should be engrams only. Weapons, you should have to put in reps to get, but have a clear path to do so.

Can't you re-do Lost Sectors?

I redid one with a friend and still got rewards.

I'm absolutely loving this game. My day has just whizzed by and I had to tear myself away to get some sleep.

Digital fucking crack.

Shout out to the DGAF/ DGAF gold discord channels, great fun chatting on there. Thanks for being so welcoming :)

I'm sure such guns are still in the game.

People who play for 12+ hours a day are gonna get stuff quickly. The reward schedule is designed for normal people with responsibilities. As it should be.

After putting in a few hours last night, I was reminded that Destiny is really the GOAT when it comes to FPS control and gameplay. I just always feel so in control.

So my pre-order at best buy got delayed due to Harvey, they doubt they will have them in till Friday. I canceled it and went to target they didn't have any. Went to gamestop and they had them.

Question is the cold heart rifle in the box or do you get a code via email?

Concerning subclasses...

found gunslinger after public event chest, and just got nightstalker after opening a random chest is the world... guess this is how it works for all classes? Randol chest drops?

Yup the real end game will be farming for consumerables to max out weapon mods and shaders to get that tiny extra edge.

I'm worried they might have tilted Eververse to the whales, but I guess it remains to be seen just how rare stuff drops vs how many engrams you can pile up through play. Hopefully the balance is there for those that don't want to spend real bucks for space bucks.

I do like how it's going to add a bit of personalization to your gear finally, and makes it a bit more unique rewarding the grind. It won't make a huge difference, but I'm glad they found a way to make grinding for the perfect rolls/tiers a little more engaging and rewarding.

So after speaking to a representative on the web chat, I was told that despite now being at my local depot I would still have to wait till Friday for my copy as that was the booked delivery date(It wasn't till it changed last night).

Figured I'd roll the dice and try giving my local depot a call, person I spoke to said that it had indeed just come in and I could come collect but to just give them an hour to sort out the delivery. One hour later, we got Destiny!! We're on everyone!

3 hours of sleep. feel like shit. work way too busy.

But hot damn Destiny 2 is a good video game.
Are you me? I'm stuck in a writers room for the next seven hours and I can barely keep my eyes open but hot damn do I have the insatiable need to hop back in once I get home.

Sleep is for the weakest of Guardians.

I'm really irritated right now...

I assumed that the ps4 preloaded the entirety of the fucking game and lo and behold, I need to download 20 additional gigs?!

Ugh, this must be what a crack fiend feels like...

my ps4 pro bundle is out for delivery. yall!

You know...I was about to jump on one of these so I could justify my double dipping by grabbing a Pro for Lost Legacy and TLOU 2 as well - but the Pro doesn't support 1440p monitors?

What the fuck Sony? Apparently some of the games even run in 1440p...but they're still upscaled to 4k. So everything will always look a bit off in 1440p.

Damn.

So excited to play tonight. Also interested to see what people end up vocally whining about once everyone starts doing end game stuff.

Quick question: are there any larger scale, Halo-esque battles in the campaign or are they more along the lines of the first Destiny? I loved the gameplay of Destiny but sorely missed the epic scale.
