Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

Laughed out loud at the line in the first mission on Nessus
"I don't have time to explain what I don't understand"

Failsafe is pretty great too

Regarding returning player stuff...

Damn my VoG remembrance screenshot hit me right in the feels.
Everyone in that group besides me no longer plays Destiny :( I still talk to most of them occasionally but I miss playing games with that group... Pretty much gone separate ways. FeelsSadMan

I wish adventures and other missions would scale difficulty based on my current level. I seem to always level up far faster than the mission I'm supposed to be on..and I'm even just focusing on red legion campaign. I'm one shotting regular enemies and it takes me like 2-3 precision shots to kill stringer enemies like captains and knights.

Hit level 20, time for a nap!

I am kind've confused as to why leveling up happens so fast? I didn't finish the story, did two strikes, no multi, barely explored the worlds... Yet I'm at max level already? Seems like it could've been slowed down a ton... Especially considering every weapon you get you replace almost immediately on the next drop anyway. Just odd how fast this is all happening, I don't recall Destiny 1 having such a fast leveling system, but maybe I'm wrong?

Either way, so far loving the game!
That was kind of the point of making everything reward you with loot considering how bad it was in Destiny and I'm fine with that. Hitting level 20 is not the real progression and as such the sooner it gets done the better. The real progression will come after that when you are trying to hit the last 60-80 power levels and have to play end game content to progress. And it's here that they need to strike a right balance, do it too soon and you don't have much value added to endgame content, do it too slow and you get forever 29 esque progression.

Work is awful today. I scheduled a big, laborious project today for a client and I'm severely lacking the energy I should have thanks to staying up late playing.

Show them that screenshot reignite the flame!

Huge shout out to MarineMountie for gifting me the game because I am a broke Hunter. Let these kind gestures pile up just to show the absurd when someone says "Lol DGaf is a garbage community".

Thanks a lot man. Because of you I can take the Tower back!

Quick question: are there any larger scale, Halo-esque battles in the campaign or are they more along the lines of the first Destiny? I loved the gameplay of Destiny but sorely missed the epic scale.

Yes there are some huge scale battles and it really feels like an evolution of Halo at times, you can often tell this is by the same dudes. Less vehicle combat but otherwise, its the best Bungie have done imo. The maps are huge and intricate, the public events can get manic as fuck, Lost Sectors are short but very sweet. As a big Bungie Halo fan this is exactly what I wanted from Bungie after D1 (which I also really enjoyed)

The only thing Halo has over this in my thoughts, is the enemy design of Halo was more my taste, the covenant were just so damn cool. Having said that the villain in this is really fucking stylish, a cross between Bane and Vader!

Did they dramatically change this from Destiny 1? No matter what you did at any level, it was always satisfying and not completely without challenge...

One thing I felt while playing last night was how incredibly slow strafing was with my hunter. I was wielding a gun that was supposed to give me increased move speed. I do have the roll, and I'm sure other gear might help with it, but damn.

Same.

we killed atheon as the screen blacked out with the last tick of a solar grenade. Brought back amazing victorious memories. Then Crota has 2 randoms. Oryx was 3 different friends (my back up raiders), and 2 randoms. Wrath of the Machine was all randoms from lfg destiny... was sad watching my friends go away through my accomplishments.

Any issues with a UK player playing on a US account? I have an account for US,UK and jp but can't remember the email my UK account is linked to.

Just finished the opening segment and hot damn, now that's how you start a game. Makes the openng to the first game look even more pitiful than it already did.

I'm from UK and my main account is American.

If you're asking whether this game account/region locks the digital purchase or progression (like FFXIV) then no it doesn't.

Is hunter a bad choice?

Warlock and titans have heals and attack buffs/shields respectively. Hunters have dodge roll. At first it seems hunters don't have much in terms of support, but you'll eventually be able to debuff bosses and turn you and your allies invisible. I even saw someone using their dodge roll to bait large enemies attacks by rolling through their melee while the rest Dps. I like healing so I chose warlock cuz I like heals but they all have neat tricks.

On the offensive side, warlocks are space magicy stuff like area of effect damage and fast self heals and super recharging. Titans are defensive and bruce force offensive. Hunters have more tricky and unique effects to help them like anchoring enemies, increase backstab melee strength, massive single shot bursts. They all have advantages and they're all stylish.
