Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

No. You unlock all of the bubble shields around the scorch cannons to START the Heroic version, which drops down a second walker. Killing both completes the Heroic.

If you kill him at all before starting the Heroic, it just completes the regular version (you missed the chance for the Heroic). If you fail to kill both once the Heroic starts, you fail altogether.

edit: Emphasized all because you could put the charges into the shield generators and unlock just one of the scorch cannons, use that cannon to kill the first walker, event complete. No Heroic

Got it. I didn't even know there were harder versions heh

Is there any reason to not disassemble unwanted armor and weapons from your inventory? Is there some kind of "blacksmith" that will break a weapon down into some other currency?

Lieutenant dude from The Wire sure making the rounds in AAA video game voice work this year

First Horizon now Destiny 2

Dude has an attractive commanding voice. He earns those roles.

You do all the dismantling in Destiny. White and green low level items will give you glimmer while rarer items will give you glimmer and some crafting material. If you just started you should dismantle low level items. They won't be useful to you as you progress so hoard as much glimmer as you can. The only time you maybe shouldn't dismantle is if you have a weapon or armor with vastly different stat bonus to your other items, but even then dismantling them will give you rare crafting material you might need so it's up to you.

Can someone explain how infusion is different this time please? I have things that I should be able to infuse, they are higher power level, but they don't appear as an option. Same weapon archetype, higher power, but they can't be selected. I'm confused.

They needs to be the same gun type, autorifle for autorifle etc.

I have to be lvl 20 to get it, right?

I got an exotic engram that dropped a level 8 version. Not sure if i'm happy i get to use it early or sad it's effectively a duplicate on my fist exotic drop.

Guess it'll help on alt characters and then i can scrap for materials.

So what extra rewards do you actually get for activating and completing the heroic version of PEs? I did it a couple times, but didn't notice a clear difference loot wise.

I'm UP!.. Again!

Who wants to farm with me in EDZ starting area?

Let's get those Tokens and Loot!

2 spots open

Show you how I loop even without having a benefit of a certain item that shows the Chest a little better...

Can you record a video of your farming loop?

Going from knowing everything about Destiny 1, all the mechanics... everything... to not knowing shit about Destiny 2 mechanics is kicking my OCD into high gear.

Also just a little annoyance.... but I really dislike having my friends list/roster hidden deeper in the menu UI. I want to access my friends list quickly like we did in Destiny 1 :p

Started playing last night at 5pm. Took a few breaks to eat, watch a bit of TV, and stretch. Finished the campaign while doing a good bit of public events, patrols, adventures, and challenges in between. Loved every bit of it. Working nights this week so it's time to sleep and may e play a bit before work tonight.

Yeah each type has a different way to activate it and win condition. The rewards from the Heroic PEs are good too, tons of XP and loot, and I've heard of people getting exotic engrams from them

I think there's a full additional loot roll. much more XP too

I cant get over the main villain looking like a roided up Halo grunt

We were referring to the preorder bonus. I already got two exotics in the story so far.

I know it's not for everyone but I'm really enjoying this Crucible pace and format. Only thing is having an even basically coordinated team versus a team of people who run off solo into a meat grinder is all the difference in the world. It should be fun with GAF groups on comms :)

I am working on my rageability, trying to think about what lost me an encounter rather than just call bullshit as may be my instinct. :P I want to put in the time to get decent from the get go this time around

Same. I really enjoyed it before and it is all I ever really played, but I am liking the new gametypes. I still wish you would get more experience and shit for the games though. They should make it as fast paced as it is in PvE.

Hmmm... some insight into the mod system...

Are mods one time use? Or can you remove them?

If you sell/destroy a weapon, do the mods come off automatically? Or might you lose them?

How do you unlock that extra mod slot? Or is it just empty?

Edit: Youtube has a lot of videos... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qSIBZ1c2NQk

Edit: Jesus, you can change the element of a weapon by applying a mod? Does that change the weapon slot that it equips to??

Edit: Holy SHIT... the effects of these mods are DRAMATIC... I'm not sure how I feel about this being added into the game. The weapons/armor are not going to be as important / valuable as these mods... especially if they come in varying rarity/power... which I'm assuming they do?

Just beat the story so credits are rolling...

Really enjoyable. I'd probably give the campaign itself an 8/10 or so. Far superior to anything we got in D1.

Light Level 203 at this point... So let the LL grind begin...

It's weird, I gained a couple full levels from Crucible but I have seen this complaint a few times so I'm not sure what the deal is, maybe it was Shaxx's quest giving me an XP completion boost.

The loot rewards seem much more consistent than D1. Even if it's not an upgrade/trash gear, that means gunsmith mats for guaranteed legendary engrams. So I approve

Do we know what the new glimmer/legendary shard caps are?

Kind of nice to see glimmer go into the 100K+ area now :p

That extra mod slot is actually a shader slot ;)
And i'm not sure about your other questions about mods yet... this legendary one came installed and just boosts attack damage (thumbs up) frankly I'm not touching them yet as at my current position (Level 20/210, about 3/4 through story I think), I certainly don't find them necessary and I'm not sure enough about the gear I like most to start trying out different ones. I have a giant pile of rare mods though I'll tell ya that

Just press start and select (touch pad and options?) at the same time, then RB/R2 twice. Thats the same amount of steps as D1 isnt it?

Characters that look and act like Halo baddies,
a warthog and a tank run
. This really is Halo: The Destiny-ing.

I'm not super far into the story but I've already said to myself that Destiny 2 feels a lot more like classic Halo than Destiny 1, to me. Which is funny because I'm pretty sure most/all of the people at Bungie who worked on the original Halo titles are gone

I'd love for Destiny to have a transmog system similar to what WoW has. Some of the best armor pieces are butt ugly, and I'd love to be able to swap their appearance with some other better-looking pieces that I've owned during my tenure as a guardian.

I am on blackout until the PC version.

Content wise, what are we talking here?

I played all the expansions of D1. so make a comparison to that please.

thanks!

(re)posting this image in case people don't know how to make public events heroic

kinda has spoilers in it though:
Is the spoiler that this is secretly an eye exam o_o

That's a thumbnail is what that is

edit:

Heh, nice. Thanks. I'll toss this in the tips post

Yeah, I figures that one want, but still would be nice to have it on another tab next to clans :p

I know... silly thing to complains about lol

I bet they will add it during DLC releases.

I don't know... they removed random weapon stats and they replaced it with collectable mods. So instead of grinding for a better weapon drop, we are grinding (or buying) for better mod drops... for the same purpose!

They didn't fix the gear system... they found a way to make $$ from it.

I personally think it's a far... FAR.... FARRRRRRRRR.... better system.

I think I have a problem. I am obsessed with Public Events.

Lol, I had about an hour to play before work and right as I got to the time where I needed to start getting ready, two public events popped up...10 minutes later I finally turned off the PS4 and was a few minutes late to work as a result. Oh well, it was worth the loot and XP.

That I agree with. I thought the roster didnt exist yet for a while cuz I just assumed it was on the same tab as clans lol

Anyone else feel like the ending felt a little rushed?
at least in the way that the last 3 or so missions are all tucked away in the same area
