Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

Goddamn maybe I should've made a warlock instead of a hunter in D1.. I might have actually played more than only a few hours lol. This game is addicting as hell.

As someone who hated PvP in Destiny I love it in Destiny 2. I don't know what it is, but there's just something better about it. I was skeptical about them making Fusion Rifles, Sniper Rifles and Shotguns power weapons, but I think it really made a difference in terms of balance.

I can actually see myself playing in Trials, which is something I'd never say in the first game.

I played a lot of Destiny PVP, and I know the meta changed a few times, but I have to admit that I hated how common and powerful shotguns were. Some fucker sliding at me and shotgunning me in the stomach always annoyed me. And sure, I did it too, BUT STILL.

I haven't tried PvP yet, but I will miss the bigger fireteams, I think.

Started running out of space in my inventory for weapons and gear so I started dismantling the ones I don't use or are low level. Is diismantling the equivalent of dropping? Or is there someone I should be selling these guns and armor to for gold/BungieBux/etc.?

Just dismantle anything you're not using anymore, particularly green and blues as these will be redundant entirely once you get to level 20 and have Legendaries. The mats it gives you from deconstructing blues and above can be traded in with the gunsmith at the farm for more loot.

Honestly, when I was trying to get to 20, I only had one thing in each slot at a time. Everything was replaced and dismantled as I got better and better gear.

Only exception is Legendaries; because these can be infused, if you find a Legendary you like, then you can keep it in your inventory.

Any blue stuff you dismantle gets you mats to turn into...the guy standing next to Shaxx....in the place...where....Shaxx is.

Want to add the info about Challenges and some basic Crucible tips to the tips post, buuuuut right now I have to go help put up hurricane shuuters -_-

Great to know, thanks. Theres nothing in game that explains this.

My game is crashing (app crash, not PS4 crash) each time I matchmake for Crucible. Happens every time. Only started this afternoon.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who is really disappointed about shaders. Reddit is pissed. These are the top 6 posts in the subreddit over the past 4 years.

That's higher than the D2 announcement.

I hope Bungie does rethink this. I don't mind them being drops. I don't mind needing to wait on RNG to get them. I just hate that they're permanently destroyed upon use. My warlock looks hideous and it's not because I don't have shaders. It's because they're too awesome to use.

Just let me swap them or get them back if I shard the gear Bungie.

Everything else in D2 is amazing. In D1 if you finish the story you've probably already done all the strikes and every thing that's available. I'm level 20 in D2 and beat the story and I've barely scratched the surface. I have only done the 1 adventure and 1 Lost sector they give you in the main story line. It's incredible how big this game is.

This is the aliasing on a base PS4, is it better on a PS4 Pro? Could you show me the same area, please? It would be really helpful.

In these screens you canl clearly see it in the UI (in the purple boxes) and in general. But in motion is even worse, even at 720p.

I usually don't care about these things, but it really bothers me in this game.

man lmfao do you guys remember how fucken hard it was to get faction rep and rewards in D1??

NOW WE ALL LIVE IN A DREAM

Remember some of the OG D1 exotic quests?

I remember doing the Bad Juju exotic for my father in law when given it as an option because the rest looked impossible for a casual. The hardest part was "Complete 25 additional Strikes to obtain Toland's Journal" and that was only step 2 out of 5 I know this is meant to be done over time, but I grinded out all 25 on that moon abomination mission to get that exotic that sucked ass

remember leveling up the nodes on your guns

It's astonishing what a difference this makes, Hawk!!!!!

It seriously makes things so much smoother but also lets you immediately enjoy gear. And the grind is gone. That was such a fucking hassle. My goodness.

This is I think the most rewardingly fun game ever.

Get on Destiny. Grab your five bounties. Spend two hours completing them and playing. Only fill up one and a half nodes. Repeat for five days before your gun is finally maxed.

Ahhhh memories.

The amount of motes of light I went through once they changed it so motes filled the nodes. Ahh the days.

I got up this morning at 5am to play a little bit before work (havent had any time to play). Ended up talking to two of my friends on headset that were up also, crazy times.

I have barely had time to play but damn this has been a fun ride so far.

Still can't get into a crucible match on XB.

1/8 since launch.

Got my second required Crucible match to finish that mission on xbox last night after about ten minutes and four or five attempts before aborting. Won't be trying crucible again for the near future due to the long wait.

It really is. Bungie has streamlined so much. Remember how you used to need like 6 different currencies for different activities to buy different gear?

Now it's just, Tokens & Mats per zone. They both redeem for rep. Everything is purchased with glimmer.

Also, did y'all catch that your Inventory is now shared across characters. No more swapping over mats between characters. *Italian chef kiss*

Speaking of Inventory. Has anyone seen any Heavy Ammo synths?

Sadly the only way they rethink this is if they aren't making money with how it currently is

I don't necessarily agree with this. They have other ways of making money established. (Emotes, etc) It could be that they weren't making enough off of the rest of that stuff but it's also just as likely that they were floating shaders into the pool to see the response.

Now they know the response.

Alright ill ask, as some one who felt burned badly by destiny 1 is this a better game for people like me who want more content and depth or is it more of the same for people who enjoyed the original?

Eh, I'm not sure that's true. People are being very vocal about their displeasure with this, and Bungie doesn't want to alienate their fanbase. I hope they make right by it, but then again, I think this is more an Activision thing.

I'll just quote myself here:

The story is great. It's nothing revelatory, but it's very well built and has some great characters. All of vanilla D1 story is narration. Everything is tuned up and progression is smoothed out. I think you'll enjoy it.

Yeah, as someone that switches shaders constantly this is a huge bummer. Like the last raid I did I switched atleast 4 times.

Confirmed there's no section in The collections area in your vault for ships and Sparrows.

I'm surprised there isn't a biggger commotion over this.

Am I missing something here? Played for 3 hours or so in a variety of story and adventures but no random players have been with me. Is there something I need to change in settings or have I just been unlucky?
