Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

Gonna take this one by one:

1. Shaders have always been earned through gameplay.
2. It's great that you're adding more places to earn them.
3. Would you consider this flush? This is DGAF Everyday Math:

Look how many shaders! Wow!
Look how many are below 4. :(

It takes a long time to get to 20. And even once you get to 20 you're moving through gear at a fast pace. ZERO incentive to use shaders til you're at the very end game and have a stable loadout.

But what shaders come from where? The kiosk used to handle this. You can inspect some vendors to see, but this a real problem.

But that's still gonna be true if the shaders aren't consummable. You have 3 weapons, 4 armor slots, and a ship. And that's before you get into alternate load outs and other characters.

I gives me real anxiety looking at this (mine is similar):

I'm not good at picking out what colors go well with each other. And I am paralyzed trying to figure out what to apply to what. And the penalty for changing or undoing is so steep.

I hate this change. Only the consummable part of it. Keep 'em as drops. Just don't penalize me for experimenting and wanting to change things around.

This is like 2 years when class items had light and you had to wear the highest light item even if you hated it because it had the highest light.
I so glad I could give 1 shit about shaders.. The change doesn't really bother me... Most of the time the shaders look like shit so no radon to let it give you anxiety.. I'm just glad I don't play game like that anymore. I know the feel to be an completeist... Like with jrpgs I use to play the first games until I go ever since item available.😑 wasn't worth

Sorry if this has been answered.

Regarding Word of Dawn for Titans. Does it replace Sentinel Shield or can you do both?

You can do both. Ward of Dawn is a long hold of L1 and R1 to trigger instead of the short press for sentinel shield.

My muscle memory for how long the hold needs to be isn't down yet meaning I've been in a really tight spot and suddenly Captain America'd my way to a spectacular death.

Guys, about the old TTK mini quests like the skysat keys etc

I have just picked up an on the comms heavy item from a patrol crate that's telling me to recover communication ciphers from red legion soldiers, got it on Lo and it's sending me to nessus

a couple of us have had that now, it fairly quickly gets to a point where we have to wait for something that's not in the game yet!

There's a red legion lost sector on Nessus near the well of fire / cistern (it's right next to a waterfall) to burn through red legion quickly. Took me about three clears to get the 5 codes.

Yeah. I'm worried I'll be doing that a lot myself too if that's how it works. Still I won't say no to having 2 supers.

Only played for a few hours but a question about the first zone and the tokens you find in the crates.

So is the idea you turn them in to the guy in the tower and then it unlocks some equipment that you can select from? Are you better off holding it and taking it to the hub world like you did in D1?

Thanks. I have this anxiety that I am going to turn like 20 into him and not get anything from it but if I held it awhile longer I could have turned them in for something great

I've done this a could times in the reverse. It's great having the shield when shit gets wild but sometimes I forget it's just a tap to go Cap and I popped a shield right next to a boss.

The tokens are zone specific and only redeemable with the field commander for the area you got them.

You can't redeem them for an engram until you're level 20.

It seems to scale with your level but we're not sure what the cap on it is.

Campaign was okay.
The Ghaul fight was a terrible bullet sponge mess where you just run around sitting behind walls until he jumps into view to be shot across the arena.

Man I didn't even bother with that
seriously didn't move from the spawn spot on that battle, just strafed side to side the whole battle and he never even tried to close the gap

That fight was a joke.

The sequence after the intro mission
where you find the farm was really bad. The slow walking (a huge FPS no no) section was unbearably long. And the dialogue is terrrrible, I couldn't stop making fun of it as it was playing haha.
I'm loving everything else though.

Each zone has like a token type. Give enough tokens to that person in each respective zone to allow you to purchase gear from them (you may not be at the right level to use it though). I don't think there is any use for zone specific tokens at the farm.

Thank you.

Should I wait to turn them in until I am higher level or are the equips level locked beforehand? i.e. if I turn them in while I am level 10 are things going to be level 10 or are they locked at like 20 regardless of my level?

They're legendary engrams so you can't even pick them up until you hit 20. Just wait.

Is there a brief info graphic or something other than a 10 minute video that tells me what to do and what not to do at different points in order to level the fastest?

There probably is but if you're doing adventures and story missions you'll hit 20 in ~8-10 hours.

Are the loot tables for the Destination Engrams specific to each destination or are they all the legendaries in the game?

Specific to the location. You can inspect every engram in the game to see the contents. And you can do that for the Destination Vendors preview engram as well. A very cool addition.

I'm not sure that's even possible O.o

Did a public event by myself and it was in the chest. It was tough too, felt like a great reward. But I got some level 1 wrist armor, and I wonder how much different it would have been if I waited a few levels

What was so funny about it? It's the only time you truly felt you lost everything after feeling like a overpowered badass from D1.

You can infuse it as you progress up your light level anyway.

holy shit, so the run down legendary gun i got is like that because it's from EDZ? And presumably Titan stuff will reflect that environment? And Nessus'?

But the ones you get from gunsmith will be foundry weapons?

ARE THIS FOR REAL?

I powered through the story and completed the final story mission at level 18 and about 15 light below the recommended level. Doing it solo, some levels/fights took longer than they should have, but the experience was awesome.

Well done Bungie. I'm actually looking forward to playing through those missions again with my other characters. In D1, some of the story missions were just a chore.

it is annoying when you have to make a new character
but the payoff for when you got your powers back makes it worth it i felt - at least the first time around

Yep. More control over RNG, my man. This is what made Diablo 3 so good as it went on.

Only kinda sorta a Destiny question - but is there anything in the Playstation app or Bungie site (logged into both) that would make me appear as online on my PS4 and in the game? I played last night and turned my PS4 off, but my friend is saying he sees me online (In Orbit) at the moment - he says there's no option to join my fireteam though. I have 2-step verification set up, but have been hacked or something, or could this be a glitch? My character hasn't been changed at all or anything.

I am loving the changes to Warlock that new heal they got is amazing and I love to heal in team based games so it's a double plus.

They also changed one of the voidwalker subclass path with more healing options. I used to be a big fan of the sunsin... dawnblade I mean, but I might be maining a voidwalker once I hit end game!

Any one have any idea how to complete the Arcology Reclaimer Challenge on Titan? It simply says "Kill 40 enemies in the New Pacific Arcology" Seems pretty straight forward except that I've been running around killing enemies for half an hour and my progress is still at 0%.

Do you turn your PS4 off or put it in rest mode?

Engram level is determined when it drops now, not when you decrypt it. So waiting would not have changed what you got from it.

How much glimmer is it to set a shader?

Cost is is different per shader.

Armour
Common - 250
Rare - 250
Legendary - 750

Weapons
Common - 1250
Rare - 1250
Legendary 3750

Ghost
Common 500
Rare 500
Legendary 1500

I don't know if exotic shaders exist?

Make sure you're killing enemies in the new pacific arcology.

Sorry, bad joke, but yeah I've found a few challenges now where the language is tricky or the enemy/resource seems more difficult to locate than it should be. I'm really missing the 'here's the best way to do <x> bounty' posts from reddit for Destiny 1.
