And again what does this have to do with me telling someone that Checkerboard rendering is not half the pixels of native resolution?

Ok, could you specify what he said will be improved in the PRO and XBONEX versions? Also, what did he say about GOG 1.2, I have this game on GOG on PC...

Ok, I guess we shall see the uplift in a few days then....They didn't specify anything. It was a shareholder conference, so they were sparse on the technical details and provided general updates on their activities. There were no details about GOG Galaxy 1.2, but the patch is coming only to PS4Pro and the Xbox One X, if that's what you're asking.
Yes yes yeeesJust to clarify:
PS4 Pro patch is coming out in a few days, Xbox One X patch is coming out later this year.
Source
So the patches are fundament different? Like, they did the Pro patch as an afterthought but they developed the Xbone X patch with more resources and that stuff? They haven't said much, but I assume it's on or around launch of the new console. From what I gather Microsoft paid or otherwise encouraged CDPR to provide the patch, and I think it was listed as one of the patched games at the reveal conference, so the wait time should be minimal if any.
He said it was 2.9x the pixels I responded directly to that & said it wasn't so , I'm not sure how you can say that no one said that when the post is right there for you to see.
I think you could stop this Durante nonsense now, you either respond with something to say or say nothing at all...I made my statement and I stand by it, if that is the only statement you have to make following me in every thread with the same line, just use the ignore function.....
I never said they have the same capabilities in perf etc...I said they're based on the same Polaris card, the same base GPU...There are +/- refinements/differences on both sides of course....
Also, it's funny that nobody bat an eyelid when DF said that the XBONEX would be delivering on GTX 1070 levels, but now saying it's based on RX 480, just like the PRO, (which is actually true) is seen as a slight????

You always bring me good news. I love you Boskee.Again, no details about the specifics of the upgrade, but I think given prior communication regarding the Pro patch, CDPR was incentivised by Microsoft's push for the Xbox One X improvements, and didn't feel right leaving the PS4 crowd empty handed. I wouldn't say it was an afterthought tho.
Foliage visibility range impacts GPU more. And it's already equivalent to PC's High setting on base consoles. I'd rather they give us "High frame-rate" mode that targets 60fps at 1080p, like how Nixxes did with ROTTR on Pro and One X.Hope we get a 1080p mode with improved graphic settings. Can they do increased draw distance for plants or is that more a cpu kind of thing?
Yeah, the load time improvements using boost mode in Witcher 3 are some of the best and most noticeable boost mode enhancements in any game on the Pro.
It feels like they are reduced 50 to even 75% depending on where you are and what you are loading.
My left stroke just went viral!!
I hope you guys with a PS4 Pro post a lot of videos and screenshots of the patched game when its out!
Really? On my Pro, load times are only reduced by 10-15 seconds with boost mode on. I did some timings.
Velen - 60 secs boost mode, 75 secs non-boost.
Oxenfurt - 75 secs boost mode, 85 secs non-boost.
Novigrad - 78 secs boost mode, 88 secs non-boost.
This is the GOTY 1.30 edition.

OMG, those are the loading times in consoles??
In PC they are like...3 seconds tops!

When we look at another open world and graphically very demanding RPG like Final Fantasy XV on Pro, which bumped the resolution up to 1800p checkerboarding, improved textures, texture filtering, shadow map resolution, ambient occlusion, light shafts, foliage and LOD, I have hopes CD Projekt Red can push some settings while running in a higher resolution too. Alone the resolution bump would improve things such as foliage rendering and detail.
Holy shit is it confirmed for PS4 Pro?
Huh? The game is pretty much locked at 30 in boost mode.Any chance of a performance mode? Runs like shit on my PS4P currently
Again before any uprendering/post processing only HALF the pixels are rendered. Stop right there and think about it for a second
It doesn't make sense to compare a part of checkerboard rendering to the full process of native rendering.
I never said they have the same capabilities in perf etc...I said they're based on the same Polaris card, the same base GPU...There are +/- refinements/differences on both sides of course....
I can substantiate that the two cards are based on the same Polaris arch from any reporting outlet, So I really don't know what the shock and awe is all about...However, my point was more to the tune, that if the Witcher 3 could have a 60fps version on the XBONEX, it will have one on the PRO...The uplift is not that great where you will see 60fps on XBONEX and only 30 on PRO....
If you guys saw the post I was referring to...
He insinuated that XBONEX could do 60fps whilst PRO was not powerful enough to do the same...Of course that is wrong, so my response....so it may be good to follow the posts sometimes...Cheers.

I don't believe the only difference will be C4K and Native 4K. I can see MS asking CDPR to go the extra mile for the X patch and rightfully so if the system can handle it. That's of course assuming they can actually get it to native 4K on X. Remains to be seen. Although, the game maintains a dynamic resolution right? So even without dev input it should go straight up to max resolution.
That is an after thought though. If they were really concerned about the Pro they would've done it a while ago, before Microsoft "encouraged" them to.
unpatched the max resolution would be limited to 1080p. Old SDKs were not supposed to support frame buffers above that value!
Resolution has pretty much no effect on cpu load.
Imagine if console gamers got a cent for every time a PC gamer uttered the term "shitty jaguar cores" or "laptop CPU"... After four years I think we get it, Jesus Christ the superiority complex of having better hardware to run games on lol.
what about load times tho
What would you compare it to then?
I want to play w3 but my only experience with the series was the first game and it sucked balls
How is the 2nd game? does it have better combat? Is important to know the story of the first game?
I'm confused why you three are even arguing at this point. You have posters trying to say you think checkerboard is as intensive as native, and then there's other people saying you think it's not rendering half as many pixels initially. He was just saying 4K Checkerboard is simply not 50% of the performance of native 4K, why are you arguing. Although I'm curious how close it actually is.You compare the processing time it take for both final frames. which is what Dice did in the slide that I posted.
I doubt that TW3 will use CB on PS4Pro, they'd need to significantly overhaul their renderer for this to happen. Rendering in native 4K on XBX should be easy though. PS4Pro will probably get something in vein of 1440p or 1600p with upscale.
