Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

failsafe is the first and only vendor speak character I've come across that I not only listened to her initial verbiage, but wanted to hear more after she was done.

I'm gonna gather so many resources for her.

Failsafe is a fun character, not as good as the GOAT Claptrap, but still good

and then there is Cayde... horrible and a try hard

woot woot!!!

all this failsafe shade (it's okay to be wrong sometimes), it's all good, I'd rather you hate her than be all "I don't particularly care who any of these people are" like in the D1 story start to finish.

Just got the Lunafaction Boots, unfortunately you don't get the magazine refill bonus just by standing in Rifts, you need to walk in/out which I imagine is still good for those raid situations where you want to fire as many Rockets ASAP.

Still need 1 of these goddamn rare+ scout rifles to get my MIDA.

is "data to start application" literally just the destiny version of the download screen? I am going to scream. I literally had the full game and the update installed an hour ago.

Just getting started, and wow, this story seems like a mess. Just going to spoiler all of this even though it's in the first hour or so...

Did a miss a cutscene, or was there no explanation about the "vision" of the shard in the beginning? In my game I just arbitrarily got to the point where the ghost says "there's the shard we saw in our vision!" What?? Uh, ok... I guess?

Your Guardian gets knocked out and has a vision. The vision is shared with the Ghost due to their link.

And then, after getting to the shard and restoring my powers, I'm just sent back to the farm, which is now chock full of the people who fled the planet and left me behind? It just seems...weird.

Er, what? The Farm is not only still on Earth, it's still in Europe. I'm not sure what the issue is there.

Failsafe is fun, the writing around her doesn't feel grating like Claptrap does.

Also Cayde is fine as a flavor background type character but the game is starting to feel cramped with people trying to be snarky because people have for some reason decided that snarky/witty is the only way to write characters.

Ikora and Zavala are still straight shooters.

Already calling for Hunter nerfs...

on pc it will be ludicrous, no brainer there lol

So yeah anyone knows if the recommended light displayed on the adventures icon on the map actually reflect the gear you ll get ?

I'm pretty sure everything scales to your own light level

Yeah there is a cinematic of the that but you don't even realize what it is until it tells you.

Beat the campaign just in time before I have to go to a wedding. That post-credits scene has got me super curious though.

I'm guessing
SIVA colonization ships.

Can one eventually sell, trade, or give weapons to friends? Or is it just dismantle them? I have about 4 versions of the same sniper rifle and wondering what to do with them.

TIA,
DL

I didn't get a cutscene or anything that explained that at all. No mention of it until "it's that shard from your vision!"

It makes sense that you arrive at the farm and it's completely empty except for the lady with the hawk, and when you return five minutes later it's totally set up as a functioning base? Seriously, you stumble into an abandoned farm one minute after being abandoned and alone for weeks and return to a thriving encampment the next. It felt so disjointed that I wondered if I had missed something.

Hey guys my wife had a question a few hours ago. She wanted to know when I'd be "done". What is "done"? Do I need a higher light level?

I got to the Farm.

General impressions:

The first mission was improved from the Beta. Several of my issues with the beta were addressed, such as the text and health bars for enemies no longer bouncing around, making them readable. Difficulty seemed way down - or maybe weapon damage way up - but it felt like I was plowing through it when it was more of a challenge before. Having my super activate four of five times made a big difference.

I still can't get over how much I love the colors in this game.

The signal that there's no respawn was amplified so it's noticeable (pulsing border was added around it).

Combat clarity is still way down from Destiny 1; there are so many effects for the weapons that I can't really tell what I'm hitting. And I really dislike the sound design; the music is great, but the sound effects all have this soft electronic proccessed layer over them. Nothing sounds like it should: there's no hard metal on metal sounds, no bang or kaboom of weapons fire. Everything is clump-clump, fwipity fwipity sploosh. Coming off Fallout 4 and the first Destiny, it's really jarring. Nothing has impact.

The combined effect is I really don't like the gunplay as compared to the first, so far. We'll see how much of that has to do with playing the entire first mission with nothing but two sidearms.

As before, the game is gorgeous, and the first level well designed. It's nice to see characters we slowly got introduced to in D1 in action, helping the world feel more alive.

Loved the second mission.
I was wondering how far down the power curve we'd get knocked, but I didn't think it would be that far. Pretty nice surprise, and the music through the entire level was brilliant.

I already feel like removing quests was a mistake, but I'll need to see what has replaced it, if anything. Quests were the glue that brought all of Destiny's activities into a cohesive whole, and they fit perfectly into the game, lending it structure. I don't understand why they are gone, but as I said - I want to see what if anything emerges in their place.

Gary is a dick.

You know they could easily explain that by saying a few days past. Most writings take liberties like this.
