Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

Do engrams you loot scale with you? Right now I can decrypt three Legendary engrams at the Cryptarch, will they scale if my Power rises?
 
What is On The Comms/Await the World-Eater? I got a random legendary drop that occupied a power weapon slot and it had me farm Red Legion Cabal on Nessus. I did that and then it turned into Await the World-Eater. Now what do I do? I assume just wait said wold eater? lol

I use them to eat through sheilds, damn I wish I had these during vault of glass to deal with those damn minotaurs.

I would STRONGLY recommend finding a family member or good friend to go through the game together. I generally do not play multi at all but this probably the best coop game aince Portal 2. Make the effort to try coopibg otherwise i would say you should just avoid it

I'm honestly not a fan of SMGs in this game. Maybe I need to try out an exotic.
 
Just beat the main story and totally loved it. SUCH A HUGE step up from Destiny 1, damn.

How do I upgrade low level weapons to higher levels? I see the option on the skill tree screen but I don't know how to actually activate it.

That is the Devastation Complex set which in full appears to have a real Dark Souls kind of inspiration look to it honestly. I think the two pieces I have (boots not shown here) were both Legendary Engram decodes.
 
Ok, so has anyone else here gotten the decrypt communications quest on Nessus? It shows up in your heavy weapon slot. I had to get communication drops off Cabal, now it says I need to wait for the arrival of the world-eater. Where am I supposed to go? Is it a good reward?

My guess is it is an event we have to wait for.

Also, was the world eater that huge worm thing in the intro?

No, they won't. If you get engram from activity like Crucible or Public Event or loot from chest then it's tied to PL you had moment it dropped.

You can juice up engrams like Milestone one from Cayde by not going to pick it up from him and pushing your PL as high as you can before going to turn Milestones in for reward.

If you want upgrade e.g. Auto Rifle to higher power you need find another Auto Rifle that has higher power value. I would suggests that just head out to patrol (e.g. EDZ) and start doing activities there. You get new loot quite fast early and replace your gear rapidly.

Leviathan is also eater of worlds so that quest is believed to be for raid exotic.
 
Well, what can I say? I fucking love this game.

I'm currently level 13 and only on the second Titan mission. The QoL improvements have been WONDERFUL.

Just not having to go to orbit every single time you complete a mission was a win for me.

Playing just makes me what to play more, if that makes any sense.

Well, back to playing!

I chose the graviton lance when given the option, but I wish I would have taken the risk runner instead.

I was a little off-put by it's exotic perk... you need to be hit by arc damage for it to kick in... I figured it wouldn't happen to frequently and it would just become a useless perk.

You know I rocked that build in d1 the one with the trip mine gauntlets and it seems waaaay slower in d2 been using the arc staff bro mostly lol I unlocked the nightsyalker but don't really care enough to do the quest just yet
 
Jumped around in the first social area
and found binoculars, got a message about a shared piece when i interacted.
Did I find a secret or what?

I actually chose the graviton lance too (same reasons as you) and got the riskrunner from an engram. Turns out I enjoy using riskrunner more. Also the perk is activated more frequently that you would expect

Almost home to play. I had pre ordered months ago from Amazon for their e3 deal ($50 for base game Canadian) but learned the game was was not shipping until the 14th.

Opened a ticket with Amazon to inquire, they apologize and sent it 1 day shipping.

My son just called to inform me that it is the deluxe edition.

My weekend is off to a great start : )
 
Just finished the last story mission
Gaul
went down way too easily, maybe I'm overleveled for it, idk.

Anyway, the campaign is easily up there with the HALO games, fantastic.

Is there a gimmick to the Exodus Crash strike? I can't tell if there is something else to be doing with the electric pylons other than just avoiding the area where they activate.
 
Leveling Alts....

So is leveling alt characters significantly faster now? The new smart loot system is supposed to take into account weapons/gear across all characters and vaults now, even if this gear isn't equipped

Example:

I make a new warlock, he's power level 100 and I get my first blue weapon drop. The PL of this weapon will be high because my hunter has weapons that are 270+ in PL? or! Will the PL of the weapon be lower because my warlock total power level is only 100?

Kind of confusing to write that.. hope it makes sense....
 
Are we expecting the factions to be overhauled or anything? I would like for them to mean something this time around!

In an adventure on Nessus where our Ghost interfaces with a Vex network they apparently are friendly to him and keep telling him to "come home." Does that imply that whatever the hell Vex are they are somehow related to Ghosts/Traveler? They mentioned an Original Program so maybe they are connected and split off at one point. That Osiris bit at the end was also interesting where he was apparently the one to kick us out of the network.

A little late replying to this but unless I missed something...

Failsafe disguised Ghost so that the Vex thought Ghost was one of them. Unless the stealth configuration or whatever malfunctioned while I wasn't paying attention, I don't think they realized it wasn't a Vex

From my experience, blues at most only drop +5 higher than you are and legendaries like +10, with RNG variation around that. However, the drop formula is based on gear that you can equip. So basically the only things you could transfer over would be the weapons and that's it. And then most weapons have level requirements, so you can't even equip those.

Short answer, not really.

Anyone else think exotics are dropping a tad too often? I'm probably in the minority, but I feel like they're just a bit too common, which makes them feel a little less special.

My only real complaint thus far.
