Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

A group of us want to get this on PC, but we all have varying levels of time to be able to commit to it. How much will that matter in the post game? Will there be a substantial difference between someone who has 60 hours vs someone who has 90-100? Or even like 200-250?

Really enjoying the game so far.

I'm gonna repeat what I said when I first started playing Destiny 1 (I played until the first DLC came out and never went back).

I'm really happy to finally love a Bungie game. I always recognized that they were making good games but I never like Halo.

Also it's my first exposure to a non-Dinklage Ghost... sounds weird lol

I don't like very many scout rifles but I really love this one:

I'm just a huge fan of Suros weapons in general... The aesthetics and audio feedback from Suros guns is awesome. Gun comes with the sleek SLO-10 sight + flared magwell and DragonFly. I only wish that it had a slightly faster firerate... It does hit really hard though.
Does any one know if the slo-21 sight is in for this game it's my second fav sight in the game soo glad the put the og red dot in it from d1 bess sight in the game

Finished the campaign and thought it was weak. I think that part of the positive response is that Destiny 1 was such an unfinished mess on launch that anything would seem better in comparison.

Felt like the worlds you visited as the game went on had little to do with the actual plot. They look great, and some of the side-content is solid, but you touch base on them for a second and then it's off to the next zone.

Personally, the Cabal are the weakest enemies to me both in visual design and mechanically, so having them be the primary enemies of the last portion of the game turned it into a real slog. It's exacerbated by the fact that level design turns into a series of identical corridors and that you fight such a paltry numbers.

I get that my grievances aren't really directed at what Destiny actually is. This is one of those cases where the true Destiny begins after the credits roll.
Even though they have all enemies I'm glad cabal is the star hive and fucking taken where the whole damn game in d1
I'd go
Vex > fallen > cabal >>>>>taken/hive

This guide goes pretty in depth on what to do once you're 270, http://imgur.com/a/h3uPL

this kinda ruins the game for me because i think it's too overwhelming. it feels way too complicated just to level up so i can get the most out of the game.

kinda kicking myself for buying this now. should've learned my lesson with the first game. it sucks because right now i am actually enjoying the game but it feels like so much to learn.

They are bad on PS4 too.

Been getting the 'connecting to Destiny 2 servers' message all day, but otherwise wasn't having issues. I just got disconnected and can't get back in now. It's saying 'Your connection to the Destiny 2 character servers has been lost'

Same, holy shit.

It's very easy compared to MMO's. Just takes some time playing to get used to. Also, ask any questions that confuse you. The community here is great.

Any news/guesses on the Raid power level requirement? I can squeeze out 282 with a shitty loadout if it's 280 but I'd much prefer 260 to have some wiggle room because I'm horrible at video games :(

Yeah me too. I've gotten kicked once as well.

i have been asking questions and still feel really confused on what i need to do. i read all these tips but it goes over my head. it just feels so complicated. maybe i should just stick to mindless dumbed down games. i feel so stupid and dumb when it comes to this game.

It looks like a lot when you read it in a list like that, but really it comes down to 'do whatever you want because everything will make your light level go up'. If you want the most efficient route to 270 then yeah, you'll need to study the guide but if you just wanna shoot stuff and have fun then...go do that.

Seriously, just do what you find enjoyable. The game is specifically designed to reward you regardless of what you like to do.

to be fair i have seen people say just do whatever you want. maybe i should just stop worrying about trying to keep up with other people.

Been kicked from the game 5 times in the past two hours.

Outside of that, I'm having a great time. The EDZ is so much better than the patrols from 1.

So huh... I'm in the Sunken Caverns on Nessus and I missed one of the jump but right before dying I lander on a small ledge.

The result is that now I'm respawning on that ledge so I'm stuck there...

How do I get unstuck? I don't have the fast travel unlocked on that planet yet.

How much content is gated behind raids? Is it like dungeons in FFXIV? Hoping to play through the campaign with my SO but neither of us are super high skill players.

I'm convinced that Bungie put these Heroic challenges into public events to troll the people who were always asking for Raid matchmaking.

Yay

That is a sexy fucking gun.

Strikes are like dungeons and the raid is like Deltascape savage. You'll not have the absolute best gear if you don't raid, but it won't heavily alter the game for you. FWIW, I believe the raids in Destiny are lower skill level than the raids in FFXIV.

Return to orbit?

I'd like to know this as well.

Also, is there a list of available activities like strikes and those time based "random" battles somewhere?

Not too much, but the best gear is raid gear (usually). You don't need to be super high skill players to enjoy the raids. Just need a nice group of people and patience. It's way less daunting than it sounds (I was too scared to raid for like a year. Got addicted to it pretty fast)

Yeah, I've just been dicking around doing PE and turning in tokens, and I'm already at 261 LL, it's really not that bad (and I hardly played any of D1).

As someone who felt burnt by D1, I want to buy D2 but have a hard time justifying it. I played D1 at launch and sold it a week later as I felt it was not the game that was advertised. The gafers posts I have been reading seem to have played a lot of D1. Has anyone felt the same as me but bought D2 and r happy with it?

To ask again from a few pages ago:

I'm stuck at the third step in the rat king quest,
crucible. Does it need to be completed with other people on the same step? The first two steps I was fine with just someone random in my Fireteam but this step just won't complete...

You should be able to return to orbit and then when you choosing the mission you will need to choose restart? That's how it worked in the first game.

I quit not long into D1, and I can definitely say I'm gonna be sinking a ton of hours into this game.

What did you not like about D1? You said you felt burned? Like it's not as open world as you wanted or ? I guess we need an explanation. D2 feels like D1 just bigger and more realized to me.

I still cant play crucible???

Stuck at evaluating guardians. Been like this day one.

Cant get anybody for strikes either. But I am able to play with randoms for other missions.

Did the Destiny servers just shit the bed? Suddenly getting hammered by random disconnects and error messages. Same with my brother playing in a different city.
