Have people been saying to hold on to tokens as it gradually gets harder to level the factions with them, or just so that people have a large cache to hand in at 260+?

I wouldn't worry about it too much TBH, above about 245 light level you'll be bouncing around with a mix of blues and purples so if you're in that region just spend 'em.

The rewards you get are based on your current Power Level. If you turn in tokens at 240, you will get gear around level 245-247.

If you save all your tokens and turn them in when you are 260, you will get gear at 265-267.

Reached 272 PL on my Titan, finished all the milestones and just did the Nightfall. Great end to the weekend. Feelsgoodman

I'll probably start leveling a Warlock next week, so I can switch between these two

Thanks for the responses guys. So it doesn't get harder to level (like factions did in D1) with tokens as you gain rewards from them? That would have been the only thing that put me off. I really enjoy the patrol loops so getting more isn't an issue for the sake of running back and getting something at the end of each shift.

I'm not sure if I can keep playing this...

I'm lvl 233 and sure I could get quite a bit higher without too much trouble but I feel overwhelmed by how complicated it is just to level up my character. It's killing my motivation to play. I feel like a dumb idiot because everyone else seems to know what they're doing but I can't make sense of it.

Quite disappointed because I enjoyed the campaign and doing adventures, public events, sectors etc. Not sure I'll bother picking it up on PC now or buying the expansion pass for PS4.

It's really not complicated. At your power level you can do any activity you want. Better gear will drop. So just do whatever is the most fun to you. The gear will follow asap

Marvel, I just bought Destiny 2 cause of you. Downloading now, will start playing tomorrow night. I hope I don't regret this!
Finished the campaign. Real improvement from D1.

Sublime music :)
Hey, I didn't know you played Destiny! I just bought D2, will start playing tomorrow. I think you've already added me on CFN for Street Fighter V but add me on PSN too so we can get some good ol' PvE in too!

I didn't really notice it. About 30 tokens will get you a level and it seems like it's been that way for a long time now!

Have people been doing that quest where you have to do the nightfall with 5 minutes left over? Is it doable right now?

Yea it's plenty doable. It took us 2 tries but the second time we did it with 8 minutes left on the clock.

Just need to come properly equipped with all damage types so someone is always dealing the burn damage throughout the strike... Then make sure to save supers toward the end so u can all pop them as soon as you get to the last step to burst down the boss quickly.

So do the milestone quests that provide powerful gear not reset each week? I turned most of them in except for Cayde's patrol deal which I just finished an hour or so ago. Also, does he have a treasure quest or something? Or is it just buying the consumables from him that make chests show up on each planet for 4 hours?

On another note, got this from a drop yesterday. It's been treating me well in PVP. I like that the cross-hairs are Anubis dog ears.

Fam, what? That sounds awesome. At what point do we start seeing exotic drops?

Saw someone in the Farm get some Exotic called Book of the Dead. Anyone know what it is? Cant seem to find anything about it online.

Are you crazy? Have you played this d2 nightfall? Luckily youll kind of get your wish anyways with guided games.

Nothing crazy about it. It's hard but it's the first week.

Once more people are around 300, matchmaking would be just fine. (It likely already is, it's being done without mics already.)

Is there a 'time played' stat anywhere? I'd like to see just how much I nolife'd this since Wednesday morning!
They have it somewhere even if it isn't available right now; you could usually find it on a Bungie.net during D1! But it'll probably take a few weeks for them to update their API's and stuff.

Will do!

All legendary items Inc engrave are stuck at 266 exactly the same as my blues.

My light level is 375 thanks to some exotics I got I got which I used to infuse my legendary gear.

I can't move forward now I'm literally fucked.

Farmed every possible activity and everything i get is 366.

Ideas?

I like how bungie added respawn items that change the color and symbol when you spawn. Nothing fancy but a nice touch. Hopefully they add really fancy ones.

Those are one use and if you replace one on your ship with new then old one is just deleted!

Something to keep in mind.

Saw a tip on Reddit about the Nightfall/Rat Kings Crew.

Sync up your supers and maybe heavies with your fireteam. Make sure you are all using the same element. When you reach the lift and get to the top, only shoot the turrets but not the boss. When your element comes around, kill the boss. Saw a clip and they did it in 10 seconds. Nuts.

It's the weapon ornament for the Vigilance Wing pulse rifle. Gives it a dilapidated look rather than being shiny. Funny story, my first bright engram gave me the skin then a half hour later my first exotic engram gave me the Wing.

OK, I've had time to pause and reflect on the three L's of Levelling, Loot and Light levels and I think they've really cracked it in this game compared to D1.

It's become clearer that the game is just meant to be played with as little farming as possible. Exotics are not the be-all and end-all they once were, they drop slightly more often from regular play - crucible playlists, strike playlists and heroic public events; I've had a couple from each. The overall progression is focused on just playing fun content and you will get loot rather than the gated Nightfall = Exotic dogma of D1. D2's mantra is don't farm, just play.

This natural progression will get you from the level 20 fresh out of the story to a bad ass level 20 at about 260-ish light level. The process is designed so you'll be operating through a mix of rares, legendaries and the odd exotic pushing you a little further each time - the levels of each converge to a point around the 260 range.

Then, when you want to get more powerful into the 270 range; hit up the things that give you 'powerful loot' this isn't always a guaranteed Exotic; it's better - it's more useful; it'll give you a powered up legendary to boost you that little bit higher. The milestones you get each week will point you in the direction of whatever will give you powerful loot and you should go for those - it's a different mindset than D1 farming. D2's focus is again, play our content and good things will happen.

Then, once you hit 280 the modification system unlocks and you realise this is the glimmer sink in the game, this is how you customise your legendary loadaouts with subclass specific boosts or general ability buffs, or re-spec the energy burn on your energy weapons.

On top of all that we get the best parts of D1 - the raid weapons to get, Exotics to collect (for fun, not necessity!) on top of a way smoother levelling system and a much more player friendly set of endgame loops.

As I said at the start, I think they've nailed this.

Yeah, its a shame. I feel like it would be more rewarding if after you equip it, it stays as a permanent option. That way you can "collect" them for your favorite ships and switch between them at will.

Holy crap. Just got the Tractor Cannon exotic and Atlantis Wash (gold and white) shader from a Legendary Engram.
Seems Rahool learned to respect guardians a bit more now he's back in the tower.

By the way, these boots are god tier for Nightstalker, if done right you can have your super right back
