I think it's ok for people to be unhappy about this.

If you edit quick enough, it won't show. Within a minute or two. Guess so people can fix spelling mistakes without it looking like they changed their whole post or something.
 
The white guilt is strong in here. It was not OK that he said that in a public setting but I couldn't care less if he uses it in private settings.

Definitely shouldn't be a word that is normalised and used publicly. I personally wouldn't even use words like nibber like he often does.

You not caring about PDP being racist in private is exactly how racism is perpetuated. By family and friends, around the dinner table, on the couch, while watching tv, while playing games. If you are anti-racist then you should care because racism breeds in private well before it shouts in public.

Not intending to be flippant, I'm not from the US, so I wasn't talking about the US election. I'd probably even argue that this hostility against "social justice", which to my knowledge started to gain traction during a gaming culture crisis, partially even enabled a part of the elections' outcome.
I'm talking about local and international gaming culture by itself, and how it showed its face starting with Gamergate and what followed.
Of course the mentality isn't specific to gaming, and that's not what I said, but it's very apparent that a lot of this shit - specifically defending racism and bigotry because "the sjws attack us", jumping on the anti-feminism train because "the sjws attack us" and being a general dick proclaiming free speech rights are dead because "the sjws attack us" - is at this point a thing that's very, very relevant in, and also got a huge push due to, "gaming cuture". If someone, say, from the Game of Thrones cast would openly say "fucking ni**ger" to another person while on air, he'd be done. In gaming culture, fans run to his rescue.

Again, I'm not trying to be flippant, but I don't see how the current culture in "gaming" isn't hostile, and for now I'll stand by my point from earlier. You're far from being wrong, I'm agreeing with what you said. However I don't think it negates my point.
