I know the game is still in the honeymoon phase, but I really feel like simplifying weapon drops/perks is going to hurt the replay value a LOT in the long run.
I didn't expect them to go full Warframe with weapons/mods, as Destiny's game systems have always been designed for kids to understand, but...they could have gone maybe 20% there.
Interested to see how people will be feeling a month from now, especially with the rate this community consumes content.
I think the solution to fixed rolls is simple: quantity. I actually like the fixed drops, as I'm sure a lot of people do. Personally chasing the god roll whatever was never that fun for me. I'd get something close enough, or something that I personally looked for in a weapon (explosive rounds, triple tap, etc).
The other solution is what is already in the game, and that is exclusive drops per activity. So the only way you can get x weapon is to do y activity, but the drop rate is low, so you gotta chase it. Also to have multiple sets of this. So maybe from the "Arms Dealer" strike you get can get 2 different sets of armor, an AR and a RL, so on and so forth.I think this is already happening, as far as I know, there just needs to be more of it.
This is in regards to the raid as well. I wouldn't be shocked if there was more than just one of each weapon and an armor set for both difficulties. I honestly expect multiple sets of stuff per difficulty. Not getting my hopes up, but that just seems to make sense to me
I think some of the issue is more that people got used to that chase, to where that became the game- find the god roll gun. If you actually used it or not afterwards didn't really matter.
I mentioned it in an earlier post, but I think they are trying to move towards a Diablo style even more than before- the game is the chase for gear, not necessarily for the "perfect" RNG gear ( and I know D3 moved toward RNG in the gear more, but it's still about getting the ring of whatever and what not).
