Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

I hate that I have another month and a half wait for the PC version. Picked it up on PS4 from a Redbox and it seems pretty great.

I can't believe they have something as lame as "slow walk with this corny somber music" so early on. I guess that's still an improvement over the original, but lol.

I was a Hunter in D1 but I think I'm going to switch. Haven't decided yet

The slow walk totally reminded me of start of ME2 in the attacked Normandy before Shepard is

Ikora's meditation gives you a NF level reward or just a normal legendary engram?

She's a normal faction vendor. Ranking her up gives you a chance for the beta (starting) gear at current light and not broken.

So since the two expansions are already known... with 1 being Osiris and Mercury and the other Rasputin... when are we expecting to see our first glimpse of the (spoilers for end of campaign)
darkness
You see them in the vision after homecoming with the pyramid ships and then at the end of the campaign.
Personally, I'm hoping to get a glimpse in Leviathan but I feel that it's too early so maybe we will figh Calus instead.

What everyone farming public events is terrified to hear :p

For every public event, there is a way to trigger a "heroic" version. Heroic version has better loot. The biggest challenge of each public event is to trigger the heroic version before everyone else finishes the normal encounter.

It's worse when you have level 20s that don't know about them.

Re-posting for new page, I promise I won't spam this again, just wanted to note changes I've made.

So after reset tomorrow morning, these are the activities/rewards we can look forward to:

General Milestones:
- Shaxx's Crucible (Luminous Engram)
- Flashpoint (Luminous Engram)
- Nightfall (Luminous Engram)
- Prestige Nightfall (Luminous Engram/Aura?)
- Clan XP Contribution Milestone (Luminous Engram)
- Raid (???)
- Trials of 9 (???)

Clan Shared Loot (half of fire-team must be from clan):
- Clan Crucible (Legendary Engram)
- Clan Nightfall (Legendary Engram)
- Clan Raid (Legendary Engram)
- Clan Trials (Legendary Engram)

Misc Activities:
- Cayde 6 Treasure Maps (results may vary)
- Ikora's Meditations (rep tokens, engram?)

*** There are also daily challenges available in almost every activity you do, as well as planetary activities ***

Please correct me if I had missed anything, or if I got the rewards wrong

Ikora's meditation gives you a NF level reward or just a normal legendary engram?

I would like to know this as well, I believe there are 4 meditation you can complete. The rewards seem to be only rep tokens. Maybe once you reach the full rep bar you get a better engram?

I would expect it to be the same engram as the other rep vendors... but with different loot.

Hi guys, is there any way adjust sound/gun effects volume separately to overall volume. I know you can mute music, but sometimes I want it the other way around. Decrease gun shot sounds and increase music volume, is this possible?

And is there any way to see what a given days strike/patrol/crucible challenges are without having to go into the map/game mode and bringing up your ghost? Is it anywhere on the app?

Has this been updated in here? Someone earlier mentioned that the exotics engrams, have a preview screen of possible outcomes. Unless its bugged thats not the case, the preview screen just cycles through all the options you can get but the engram still can give you anything at anytime despite what is shown in the preview screen.

Okay finally have done all the Destiny 2 strikes so obviously time to rank them.

1. The Pyramidion - This area is so cool. Visually stunning. Lots of environmental traps. Holding points here is fun. Boss was super cool with fun, simple mechanics.

2. The Inverted Spire - Also super cool area and nice mix of enemies to fight. Great boss too. The drill bit always looks cool.

3. The Arms Dealer - fun strike, the nightfall made me hate it a bit more though lol

4. Savathun's song - Really cool boss at the end, love the location

5. Lake of Shadows - Pretty basic strike, final boss with the raising water is kind of a neat mechanic

6. Exodus Crash - this one just sucks. Mostly reused areas, that light portion is dumb and pointless, the boss is easily the worst by a long shot due to the invisibility and teleporting away.

5/6 ain't that bad bungie.

Whoa whoa whoa, stop the clock. D1 was certainly nothing like COD.

In turn of speed of play and supers flying everywhere. I'm not saying it's a direct clone. Just that D1 was a lot easier for a single person to dominate and the speed of game play is like COD.

Are the Cayde Treasure Maps a once per account type thing?

I want to try my luck and see what I can get out of them before they are gone and replaced with different ones tomorrow (do they get reset weekly?)

I know people keep saying to wait until 265+ but I'm not gonna be there anytime soon

Why is there not a node in the collection kiosk for ships and sparrows?

My mind is blown at this.

I've been saying this since the game launched. I'm really surprised more people aren't up in arms about this. What happens when you run out of inventory space for your ships when you get a new one? Gotta dismantle an old ship regardless.

I wrote down what the 8? items were in the preview, I got one that wasn't in it.

Yeah, dunno why they decide to put it in the vault instead of collections.

Since I didn’t really play D1, what content can we expect from expansions?
New raid is a given, I guess. New locations or just missions, loot, tweaks?
Or should we expect a different approach for D2? Has Bungie hinted at anything?

I think that's a false rumour. I've definately gotten exotics outside of those on the preview screen.

so happy i'm finally going to be playing destiny 2. i was supposed to get hit directly by Irma as a cat 4, so I was expecting to be without power for possibly weeks afterwards. ended up not even losing power in my apartment.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that finds the pvp changes awful. Bungie trying to turn this into an esport has completely ruined it for me.

The changes feel great to me. Shots feel like they register a lot better and I haven't felt any lag issues. The mp feels so much better now and I love the competitive focus on both competitive and quickplay modes. They still offer loot for playing the game regardless of winning or losing so I don't see it as much of a loss.

Well...
Its hard to use D1 as a guide. A new raid isn't a given, see House of Wolves.

The problem with D1 is that dev times were screwed up. They had to hard reboot with The Taken King. I wouldn't expect a Taken King level of expansion but I al hopeful we get something more substantial than Dark Below or House and mayb more like Rise of Iron. If the expansions aren't as big as ROI at least, yikes.

So yeah again if we ROI type expansion then yes new strikes, new gear, new locations and hopefully a new raid. About 5 hours of SP/Co-op story mode and hopefully 2-3 strikes and maybe 1 or 2 reimagined strikes.

The real issues with the D1 expansions is that they constantly sunsetted a lot of content with each expansion. Which sucked. I would hope they have found a way to not do this going forward. Not having certain strikes come up in the rotation or MP maps you like no longer available sucked. So much so that they ended up adding legacy playlists. Hoping they just keep everything integrated better going forward.

the 3 team dungeons are strikes.
I don't mean strikes, I mean something more akin to a mini raid. Or call then dungeons. The games end game is thin. Which is nuts for a sequel. Adventures and list sectors could be great but there is no reason to do them once your lvl20.there needs to be more than nf/ raid every week.

I finally finished the story last night. What endgame activities should I focus on tonight before the reset tomorrow?

This drove me mental. There was no reason for everything to be useless once the next update came out. Until, of course, they needed to pad-out the final year and then everything became relevant again.

You cant fool me, there are clearly only 2 strikes in the game as evidenced by the strike playlist :P
