Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

So my light is now above 260. Other than doing milestones and the nightfall which I doubt I'll have time for now what's the best way to keep getting increases?

I did a few of the heroic public events but just curious how do you identify one? I stumbled into them by luck.

So am I misremembering something I read, or is there going to be a raid Normal Mode, Hard Mode, and a Prestige Mode?

Or has Prestige Mode replaced Hard Mode?

Hope you get Exotic Engrams. and Mod Infusions

there are triggers to each public event. You'll want milestones/exotics to level post 260

Knew 260 would be the general requirement. They want everyone to raid.

I like the decision, particularly with a third tier to raiding. Normal 260, Hard 280, Prestige 300. It basically makes raiding available as soon as you hit the end of where playing the game normally would stop your progression. Hope this means more people get into it.

So.. this end game stuff. Trying to get my head around what's what.

Lost Sectors and Hidden chests are both one time only events, right? Can Lost Sectors be re-ran for better loot?

Adventures replenish and refresh? Do these increase in level on subsequent runs?

Are the blue quest markers upon completion of the story worth doing in terms of the grind towards 260?

I feel like if Destiny 1 had content issues, this has the opposite problem in that there's an almost overwhelming amount of things to do at this stage. I'm more interested in trying to optimise my own time and not waste it on events that aren't going to be worth it.

The end game is really lacking, shocking as the first game had the same issue. Why are all those adventures/ lost sectors useless once your higher lvl? Nothing seems to scale. All we have is nf/ raid every week?

Nightshade kinetic and Nergal energy are also good.

YES!

Nergal is the pulse rifle I mentioned in my post that I couldn't remember the name of. Thins is awesome in both PvP & PvE. Plus is looks super cool too.

Can you play this by yourself? I never played destiny 1 but this looks fun but im not sure if its for me.

Any insight? Thanks!!

You can, but you will eventually come to a point where you will need team mates to go further.

At least until guided games comes out.

The campaign, adventures, patrols, public events, milestones you can solo.

1. Lost sectors can be re-looted, I think it's daily. Hidden chests (gold ones) other than Cayde's I think it's only 1 time
2. Adventures can be re-done after picking them with the planet's NPC. They should increase the power until 260-265
3. Blue markers are pretty good drops, I saved them until I was 260

Adventures are pretty useless. I finally just got done today removing them all from each zone. They are good for XP and tokens, and by the time you're 260+ the reward for clearing them all kind of sucks.

I'm hoping we eventually get Lost Sectors that scale in difficulty because every one outside of the EDZ had really cool play areas.

A couple of other very good legendaries I've been using and ones to look out for:

- Lincoln Green Pulse Rifle (Very good for PvP, decent PvE)
- Scathelocke Auto Rifle (Very good and fun to use for PvE)
- Origin Story Auto Rifle (Large mag, damage buff, manageable recoil)
- First In Last Out Shotgun (Very capable single slug shotgun)
- Nameless Midnight Scout Rifle (Awesome tier, PvP & PvE)
- Omolon Pulse Rifle [forgot name] (full auto, energy, great all around stats)

Others to look out for:

- Hawthornes Shotgun (Full-Auto Shotgun)
- Call to Serve Scout Rifle (Triple Tap, looks & sounds awesome)
- Last Hope Sidearms (very low recoil, burst, face-melter)
I love that gun and I usually hate auto rifles in this game and D1, it's currently my go-to primary along with the Knighshade pulse rifle. The Widow's Bite is a really good sniper too, and the Seven-Six-Five scout rife that's full-auto and boosts movement speed.

They dropped the ball hard on adventures. They are great in theory but totally pointless to do after awhile.

Is there any point of doing adventures once you're over 260? Also is there a preferred LFG site for Destiny 2? Am going to try to get the nightfall done this evening.

went from 217 to 237 today...haven't followed the powerleveling guide exactly because I just got tired of playing the game that way...so I'm just gonna do it how I want for the most part...will still leave the token turn in stuff to the end but other than that I'm just doing what I want

so milestones reset? I have a clan engram just sitting there and i have not claimed it yet, because i am waiting to get more light on my gear. If i do not take this engram today, it will be gone tomorrow because of the reset?

Thanks

some of them give you upgrade points so you can level subclasses? the bosses have a chance to drop purps?

thats pretty much all I can see.

I just did what I wanted and ended up at 276. Seems fine, especially since I just wanted to be raid ready.

Does the Cayde Flashpoint milestone thing reset tomorrow? I know that you are not supposed to get that engram until you are at the soft light cap of 265, but will it be lost if I don't pick it up now?

Doing the Nightfall with at least 5 minutes left was a sweaty affair earlier. It was the tank section that caught us out multiple times though any grenades that linger ended up being the savior. Boss himself was done in 10 seconds so that was no problem. I think we ended up with 6 minutes left on the clock.

Is there anything unique about Prestige other than the difficulty?

Flashpoints are weekly like Nightfalls, etc. I don't think you can keep hold of it after the reset as it might count as the new week's one-off? Honestly I'd just hand it in now so you can be prepped for tomorrow's fresh one. You'll level up relatively quickly anyway. :)

I got an Exotic engram for completing one on Nessus once so I guess the chance is there.

They drop exotic engrams too.

Hell yeah. I'm a Rat King now boys and girls. So much fun running around in PVP as a group of 4. Managed to do a few practice runs and did it on our 4th try. So happy

I get a bunch of stuff from Cayde's treasure like letters and other stuff. Do they do anything?
You just turn them into cayde for extra rep, and there is lore attached to them. I found a letter scrap talking about how his wife and kids won't recognize him now that he's an exo, but that was the only way to see them still

Man don't know how you guys are doing rat king, only beat nightfall with 52secs to spare. What subclass is best for this if I'm a hunter?

Are the stats on quest/named exotics like the Rat King tied your power level? Should you leave these quests until you're at some sort of cap? Or are they like normal MMO loot with fixed stats?

Still not entirely sure how this power level stuff works. 🤔

The exotic weapon quests will reward based on LL.

I feel like I can get to 260 by just doing Strikes/Adventures/Lost Sectors and public events along the way.
You can, no problem. I did everything (minus adventures), powerful gear milestones included and I'm at 266 at the moment. I just found it more fun to play that way.

I got five exotics just doing adventures.

Last day before reset, is there anyone that still needs the nightfall? I haven't done it yet and was wondering if I could tag along. Made it to power level 269.

Could someone help explain light levels to me as if I were mentally challenged?

Doesn't your light level go up regardless as long as you play the game since the loot will drop at or slightly higher than the current gear you have in your space backpack?

Also, I currently made a second character to help speed up the light level process and I'm at the EDZ before meeting Sean Connery.

If I were to just grind the hell out of the beginning area and level up enough to equip legendary gear (lvl 15-17) wouldn't each quest reward be godly high in terms of light level?

Man don't know how you guys are doing rat king, only beat nightfall with 52secs to spare. What subclass is best for this if I'm a hunter?

Hunter yeah (though I was a Titan and my friends were Hunters). Arcstrider + Raiden Flux (exotic chest that boosts duration of the arc super) = stunlock the boss. If there are at least two of you you'll absolutely annihilate him. Not sure how efficient it will be without the exo chest but with 3 of you it should still be doable if you're all rocking the same subclass.

Essentially the idea is that for the boss you have three Arc supers prepped (best roaming supers for all the classes) and then once Arc burn kicks in, unleash it all on him. 10 seconds is all it will take to melt him.

For us the problem was the tank section. We got there with 10 minutes to spare but then we get a bit eager and fuck it up. If you can nail that section then it's smooth sailing.

How long do Strikes normally take & could I tackle them with a power level of 237?

Yeah that's fine for the ordinary ones. Takes about 10 minutes on average depending on the ability of your whole team but no doubt smashed in less time if you're all efficient in making it through rather than trying to kill everything when you don't need to.

I'm just happy that people are finding all these awesome weapons now.

I know we are still early, and this will likely change very soon.... but there seems to be a lot of great variety now, and not just everyone using The Hung Jury or the Fatebringer...
