Splatoon got its first amiibos (Girl, Boy, Squid) announced in April, just under two months before it came out. Callie and Marie + the redecos were late, though.

ARMS amiibos are something I didn't think of here but would make sense for them to touch on. It'd probably be a quick way to inject some fresh blood into the game.

Splatoon's amiibo came at launch with the game. The reskinned amiibo and the Squid Sister amiibo came a year later.

I know I'm late in replying, but holy hell where did I get the idea that Splatoon amiibo weren't announced/released until after the game came out? I could have sworn I read it on GAF somewhere... oh well, thanks for the correction!

Nah, they probably bet everything that Switch would be a big failure, and when SF2U sold too much they went "oh sh*t"
Until they wake up they are going to leave tons of money on the table.

Outside of Skyrim being confirmed and Fallout 4 being teased, I'm not too sure what other big third party publishers are looking at the Switch outside of Ubisoft.
