Apple September Event 2017 |OT| A Top-Notch Keynote

I have a very specific but frequent scenario that might keep me from upgrading:

I often have my phone sitting on my desk at work, off to the side. Currently, I can reach and unlock with my finger in order to open/close an app or change a music track or whatever.

With FaceID, I'll have to pick up the phone, aim it at my face, and then put it back down. That's a major inconvenience if I'm doing it 30 times a day.

This guy demoing the unit looks like that guy from Law N Order

Every time I have seen this guy at an event he just seems super happy and friendly

That is the most overengineered way to login. Sure it is cool, but so much time and money was spent on something that really isn't that important.

This phone looks really ugly on the presentation. I feel like round screen corners on phones is gonna be the type of thing where we look back in 5 years and wonder wtf we were thinking.

The 8 looks more interesting to me so far.

I honestly felt embarrassed during the emoji thing.

The way they introduced this product and one of the big new features is being able to look like a character from The Emoji Movie.

Daaaaamn that was the nightmare scenario. Everything rode on that thing unlocking the first time.

Those 5 seconds did sooo much damage lol
